The food was terribly greasy and aside from the sweet and sour sauce it didn't have any distinguishable flavor. the batter on the pork was similar to a fish batter, the rice was a bright yellow and flavorless, the lo mein was just greasy and flavorless. I took one bite of my food and it tasted so watery I had to spit it out. I ordered $50 worth of food and to be dissatisfied with everything is absolutely crazy. We ordered popular items that we normally get so we would know how it tastes. Not sure if they're just having a bad day but that's no excuse. I can't bring myself to waste my money if my food is going to be such poor quality. This review gives me extreme dissatisfaction considering I really enjoyed ordering from here but no longer. Horrible service, after finding metal in my food the owner wanted to argue with me about a refund. Out of principle, I cannot order from here anymore. Someone could have gotten really hurt! Worst Chinese food food I ever had. Current chef doesn't have a clue what a sauce is made of.

I'd stopped here recently wanting real Chinese food, but knowing that they were really Americanized. I was willing to accept that, but when I entered the place, it was different. When I said one, she asked "for here" but then I asked "buffet only?" and she replied "yes" and I said "no" and left. I'm not sure why buffets are even allowed. They're generally a health hazard, which is why I call them in general "slop 'n' trough". The food at this place wasn't that good when I ate here previously, but it got a lot worse (to me) just being on a buffet. My husband and I had our food delivered this evening 4-29-23, to start out we were short 2 spring rolls. My food tasted old and had a weird flavor. The more I ate I was so sick to my stomach, I started thinking about if the kitchen was clean, or how long our food had been in the fridge. This place is majorly hit or miss for me, sometimes it's great and sometimes it is horrible. I think if you go on a Saturday or Friday evening when it's usually pretty busy the food is better because they change the plates a lot. Started a review, stopped, started again, stopped. This one will get finished. We stopped in for dinner on Christmas day. They were about the only place open in Richmond, the reason for the 2nd star...they could have/should have been closed because it was Christmas. It was a weird situation for us to be "out" on Christmas day but it was what it was. The place needs to close for a week and so nothing but clean the dining area. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a large wooden box of unsnapped, fresh green beans in one booth. The next booth was filled with all manner of stuff. Then the counter. They have a pretty large buffet BUT you can order off the menu too. THERE is NO table service. If you are going to order, you order at the counter, they bring you the food but there is hardly a reason to order off the menu because of the buffet. After ordering, we looked for a table to 8. Found a place but it had not been cleaned BUT it was the only seat available. We cleaned, sat and some of our group headed to the buffet, two waited for food ordered off the menu. Their food, lo main noodles were over cooked. The buffet continued the cleanliness issue but the food was ok...not great...just ok. Probably will try to NOT return. I can defiantly say that I have had better Chinese food. I came here for dinner with 2 of my teammates. Dinner came out to be around $12 for the buffet. They did have a lot of options there, and it is self serve and seat. The food was hot, but it was very bland. I tried the chicken and broccoli and it was not seasoned at all. I also tried the low main and it was super saturated in soy sauce that I could bearly even eat it. I ended up just sticking with the plain rice and general toas chicken because it was the best thing there. If you dont mind bland Chinese food then this is the place for you. I had not eaten in the restaurant in a few years so my family walked in the door, and walked back in less than a minute. How this place manages to stay in bussness I don't understand. Most of the carpet is solid black from the lack of cleaning, everything seems to have a thick film of dirt and grim on it. if thats the condition of the dinning room, it really makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I had carry-out from them in the past and it was okay for the Richmond area, however I think this will be the last time that I ever think about eatting from them again until they do a complete remodel. If you are willing to drive, I would recommend China Cottage in the Dayton area. When I was working in that area I would get carry-out from them once a week. If you want to dine-in, I would recommened to one in Springboro. For Carry-out the one in Trotwood is about a 45 minute drive from Richmond, and the food will still be 100% better than Great Wall.. Pretty good Americanized Chinese food, especially for Richmond, IN. The pork fried rice is a 5, an the egg rolls are also a 5. The Rangoon is a solid 4. While the General's is probably a 3.5. We had lunch at 2pm here and was not busy yet not a clean table in the place, floors were FILTHY and I went through three dirty plates before finding one decent enough to put food on. The pork dumpling was cold and made me loose my appetite. The workers were talking at the front desk this whole time, not cleaning or working. This is probably now the best Chinese restaurant in Richmond. (The service can be hit-or-miss depending on who is manning the register and taking orders.) They seem to have made improvements lately in the quality of the food. The last time we ordered take-out the fried rice had lots of vegetables and fresh bean sprouts along with pork in it, and the entrees had good quality ingredients. The egg rolls were good too. I went here for the first time since moving to Richmond last year. Went to grab a drink from the machine and the very first thing I noticed was the place where the ice comes out at had black mold around the edge. That is a red flag that their food safety/cleanliness isn't up to par. I opted out of ice in my drink.
