    Kung Pao Shrimp w/Fried Rice

This was my first time at Great Wall Express but it was a pleasant surprise. Counter people were attentive and polite. They have the items offered in their combo plates precooked and held in a steam table. Everything look pretty fresh. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp and Fried Rice. As an add on I also ordered an egg roll. The egg roll wrapper was not one of those phyllo type wrap but more like a wonton wrapper. I much prefer the wonton wrappers because they are not as greasy and don't fall apart when you eat them. It took about 10 minutes from the time I ordered until I was leaving with my food. When I got home, I weighed the Kung Pao Shrimp and the Fried Rice on my digital kitchen scale. 2.77 pounds. The rice was possibly 20% of the weight, so that was a lot of Kung Pao Shrimp. I spooned out about half the Kung Pao Shrimp and maybe two tablespoons of rice. I zapped it in the microwave for 90 seconds. It wasn't "hot" but it was warm enough to be edible. The sauce was spicy but not really Kung Pao sauce. The veggies, zucchini, carrots and celery were not over cooked but cooked enough that they weren't raw. The shrimp were medium size and cooked on the minimum cooking time. They were barely done but did not have that raw texture that I have experienced elsewhere. I didn't count the shrimp but there were enough that I didn't forget I was eating Kung Pao Shrimp. The peanuts were fresh and added to the top of the dish, keeping them from getting soggy. The egg roll was served off of the steam table. It was warm but not crispy. The filling was reasonable. The next time I eat here I will ask for a fresh egg roll. I did not get my jar of crispy crushed red pepper out for this meal. The leftovers were enough for another full meal. The next day it reheated pretty well. The veggies and shrimp maintained their texture really well. There was enough sauce to ensure it was flavorful. The inside of this restaurant is stark but seemed pretty clean. I didn't see anything that alarmed me regarding sanitation. I grew up in food service so I have a sharp eye for failures to serve food properly. This place looked and smelled good. I recommend if you want to try fast Chinese food to give Great Wall a try. Online prices and menus are probably out of date.

To Go lunch. Taste is good, prices don't match what's on the menu (guess not updated yet) overall it's good.

I found that if you come early lunch, you get fresher food. Tasty today Service very good.

Nothing wrong with customer service. The food was terrible. Big uneven chunks of meat. Rice was hard and crunchy. I absolutely do not recommend.

We are from San Antonio and have yet to find any good Chinese that equals what we are used to. This place is absolutely delicious!!!! The employees are friendly and quick to help. The dining area is updated and clean. If you prefer they even have a drive through definitely recommend giving them a try!!!!! Update 4/11: if you go inside and the trays are empty there's a 60/40 that the food is being rushed back out to meet the rush and won't be quite as good as described above but still ok.

Vegetarian lo mein & fried rice!

Love this place. So glad they are back now after rebuilding. You get a good amount of food for what you pay for and everything tastes good.

This place is like Panda Express but you get so much more food for the money. Food is pretty good my husband loves their pepper chicken.

I got the Pho Noodle Soup and my husband got the pineapple fried rice. Both were absolutely delicious with great flavors. Portions are generous too! The mango sticky rice is to die for. Trust me! The food ordered: pad Thai, tom kha chicken soup, yum soon sen salad, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, a side of fried rice, and jeow som sauce. I ordered off their restaurant app which does include service fees. My total was $64.22. As a whole, the food is really good, nice proportions, and steaming hot. I asked for no spice on the pad Thai and mild spice in the soup and noodle salad. But the pad Thai got all the spice. AND I MEAN SPICY! My daughter was sad at first but powered through and enjoyed it and cleared her sinuses while she was at it LOL. Simple mistake, and lesson learned to make sure everything I order in the future is at the no spice level. The crab Rangoons are thin, delicate and crispy- the filling was slightly sweet and delicious. Very good with the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it. The egg rolls weren't our favorite but they were still tasty. Just not so crispy as we would have liked. The soup was exactly what my cold needed! It cleared my nose instantly. The show stopper was the yum woon sen salad. My daughter and I fought over leftovers. It's the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and sour. A new favorite for sure! We will definitely be back to try other dishes and support this local gem!

The sound of the sizzling wok in the kitchen can be heard in the dining room as each dish is meticulously prepared to order. My service was fantastic! Being waited on by someone who cares about your experience MAKES the experience! Thanks so much Dharani! For my lunch, I ordered the Chef's Special Prawns, think of it as lightly breaded shrimp in a spicy garlic sauce. For lunch, it comes with a choice of soup and choice of rice. I got Egg Drop and Steamed Rice as my choices. My entire meal was great! This place is a definite repeater!

But that wasnt the l kicker. I wanted to have a nice lunch and talk to my daughter. The waitress rushed us so that it bordered obscene! She interrupted us sooo many times and I'm not complaining that she was too efficient, she was annoying to the point of rude. I couldnt get in any good conversation as we couldnt even complete a thought! She was obviously wanting to turn the table quickly BUT A- they were not busy B-they had plenty of tables available C-they were not on a waiting list D- customers were only trickling in so she did NOT need our table, if she did I wouldve understood. People not only pick a restaurant for its food but also for the ambiance and comfortableness of it. I kept telling her we were fine, hoping she'd get the hint, she didnt. And unless you had experienced it, you probably are thinking it sounds like she was a good efficient waitress, but NO, it was so rude, and I'm sure she was trained to get customers in and rush them out as the manager lady kept coming over too as if we needed more interruptions! So by you rudely rushing us out may have got you a table quicker that you didnt even need but now youve lost a customer, so please make note of this, you were not on a waiting list, you did not need that table, so let your customer have an enjoyable experience and quit being interruptive and rude. Sure refill the tea, tale a plate, ask us if we are alright but then thats it, we were not there long, we ended up leaving and went to talk in the car. Thanks for a very bad experience, you only got two stars because I enjoyed my soup even though it was small, by the way egg drop soup costs pennies to make, you didnt need to make that smaller!

Greeted with a poster/banner promoting a menu item called BLAZING DRAGON IN THE SKY....so, hey, what's not to love? We were shown a corner booth that was just perfect for our party. Our server was attentive to our needs and answered our inquiries thoughtfully and with enthusiasm. The atmosphere was the ideal setting for our gathering and the mood in the establishment was pleasant and friendly and bordered on festive. Gosh, when examining the menu was struck by how extant the variety of the appetizers were .......so we ordered four different types and were very pleased with the dumplings and the miso soup and the others that arrived. We all shared the main dish which was a crispy noodles with a large selection of vegetables and meats. The best ever! Topped off the meal earl grey ice cream and yuzu yogurt. Perfect conclusion.

Rather than focus on that, I wanted to see how the food held up on this visit. We started with the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, and they were one of the best dishes of the night. The filling was juicy and flavorful with a nice balance of Wagyu beef, ginger, onions, cabbage, and scallions. The wrapper wasn't too thick, allowing the filling to be the star. The Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles were easily my favorite dish. The fresh noodles had the perfect chewy texture and were tossed with vegetables in a savory soy sauce that coated every noodle perfectly. It's a simple dish executed extremely well. We also ordered the House Chicken Fried Rice. The fried rice itself was excellent--well-seasoned, fluffy, and flavorful. My only criticism is that the chicken lacked seasoning and didn't stand out the way the rice did. If I ordered it again, I'd probably choose beef instead. Based on this visit, I'd absolutely recommend ordering the hand-pulled noodles and Wagyu dumplings. Those two dishes alone made the trip worthwhile, and I'll be back to continue exploring the menu.
