If you would have asked me a week ago i would have said my hubby and i really like this place they have a lot to chose from but after going the other night i will never go back!!! we had to ask for are water are silverware piece by piece!!!! the quality of food is going down hill!! and are waitress never came and took are plates off of are table they sat us at a dirty table! the manager said stuff happens then we said something about our lack of service needless to say we will not be going back! read more

You don't expect much table service at a buffet but you'd like the plates taken away and your drinks filled without have to talk to the manager. While the food was fine with a decent variety, we will not become "regulars" here. read more

If the stench of cat urine is your cup of tea, this is the place for you. I am being more than kind. I gave them two chances, 6 months apart. The food is passable at best. The odor coming from the carpet totally blows the deal. We complained about the overpowering odor after the second visit. The hostess said, "what odor, there is no odor?" On the bright side, when you are on the tile floor where the food is, the odor is faint. When you get back to the carpet, you are floored! (pun fully intended) read more

Bad quality. Nice people. Dirty. Avoid unless you really love crappy CHEAP Chinese food.

Wide variety of choices to choose from. Food was warm and delicious.from stir fry to sushi, chicken and seafood Fried California rolls were a hit! Sugar dough was delicious. Great for big family's, they can pick and choose what each wants. Service was good too. read more

The food was pretty good though, but not comparable to other Chinese buffets that I've had in my hometown area. Con was that there was not that much of a wide variety to choose from since most of the buffets that I've been to had way more food. Okay for a quick stop. read more

I loved everything I tried. Great variety of food, dessert and ice cream. My favorite fried plantains, yummy . I always had good service for a buffet, the people there are very friendly. read more

I really really hate Chinese buffets. This place is one notch better than the others.

This place is good idk what everyone is talking about. It has a nice amount of fresh selections. It also has a stir fry bar with noodles, veggies & meat. Also it has a sushi bar with more selections than any other buffet I've been to. A huge fruit bar. The only thing wrong with this place is the waitress service is tremendously slow. Other than that it is always full. So expect a wait getting seated. read more

You know it's that typical Chinese Buffet variety but I'm ok with that. Food well prepared done right for their price point. Would return more if my girlfriend could appreciate Chinese (American Chinese) Buffet like I do. read more

Went today for lunch, there is a large selection of food to chose from but not of the highest quality. Service is above average.

Felt like Chinese decided to try great wall buffet. Price ave $9 . good selection of food both Asian and american. Very nice salad selection also had a Mongolian style stir fry. Tables were bussed frequently which is important for an overeating chubber. Only down side was Buffet means tepid food and nothing sensational. I asked owner what their specialty was and he looked at me and said 150 items no specialty. He was right. Good crisp egg rolls, pot stickers baked , no bueno. If you are hungry fine place to eat. read more

Ate there tonight for the first and last time. Nothing good about it. It was: Most of what I ate was lukewarm at best and tasted like yesterdays leftovers. The crab legs although tasty, were very hard to come by. They would bring out 4 or 5 every 5-10 minutes. Most of the selections looked like they had been there all day. After reading Olivia Ks review, I will NEVER spend another dime in this joint again. I should have read that BEFORE I ate there. Hope I don't get food poisoning. read more

Every time we go it seems that the person at the counter is always on the phone. On the weekends at night they sometimes have crab, but never put out more than a few pieces and it takes them forever to refill it. Absolutely not worth the money. read more

Great Wall Buffet can either be great or just plain nasty. The problem is you never know which it will be until after you pay and start eating. Same goes for drink service. Sometimes they are on top of things, sometimes you have to go get your own refill because the staff is too busy talking to each other or all servers are on break, but one and the place is packed. read more

Friendly service, good food. My family and I go at least once a month.

My family and I went there last night, wanted crab legs, ended up bing spider legs, manager didnt care one bit. Daughter wanted a glass of milk, and it was room temp, they didnt care. I look at it this way.. We have been going there since it has opened. Moved for 3 years.. came back, and was excited to go there again. Been here not even a month and eaten there twice, and I can say.. I will never go back again!! read more

I have been going to this buffet for years. Every month when I make my mortgage payment I would stop in for lunch and always enjoyed it. I have even brought several people there who loved the choices of food. I brought a new friend there today and we sat down to eat and I found a foot long hair in my peanut chicken. As I pulled on the hair it actually lifted the chicken from the plate. When I brought it to the manager's attention I was told it happens all of the time in restaurants. She told me I wouldn't have to pay for my meal but then took away my plate and she and a waiter stayed very close by to make sure I did not eat from my friends plate. Like I would, I was pretty grossed out. I will never visit this restaurant again, perhaps if the manager was a little bit more polite and apologetic I would give them a second chance, but I just felt they did not care one bit. Add to that, if you pay with cash, they never ring up the sale. In fact they keep the cash register drawer open all of the time and just use it to make change after they add up the bill on a calculator. Me thinks they are doing creative accounting. read more

It's Chinese buffet quality Chinese buffet food at Chinese buffet prices and Chinese buffet service. Basically, it's what you expect from Chinese buffet. read more

I had been going to the Great Wall for a couple of years, but now, they have milked their last cow with me. I'm not looking for superb service at a buffet, but I do expect that the food be cooked properly and not rotting in the hot table. They had miniature lobsters and I cracked one upon and low and behold, it was no longer fit to be eaten and had rotted. The rest of their food was on the same level either not cooked enough or cold. Least to say, I am never ever going back. And if you go there on the weekend for lunch (before 3:00) expect to pay the dinner price which is 12.99 each without drinks. Next time, I think I'll just go to subway and get a sandwich. read more

Horrible service. The workers never smile.... ever! Nobody came to refill our drinks. We had to flag someone. There were hardly any food on the buffet. You had to ask for the empty stuff in order for them to fill it. And the food that were there were so dry and old. No crabs.. ever! When they finally brought some out, the crabs looked anorexic, and they only brought about 6 scrawny legs. Only good thing about this place was the noodle bar. At least that was made fresh. Coincidentally enough, we weren't the only customers complaining about the empty buffet. Never again! read more

Large variety of foods ! Everything is good !! I go at least once a month . Staff is all very friendly ... pricing is reasonable .

Great food, friendly. A lot of selections of food, sushi, Chinese, American food, desserts and grill bar .

The place is not too bad too eat at but the service is terrible they never ask if you want a refill and I went to get more food and I came back and the guy was cleaning our table and thinking we were done eating when we weren't. Plus some of their waiters are rude! It's a good place to eat but I don't like the service of how they treat their customers and how they never come and ask if we need refills read more

The food is okay, nothing stands out to me. The service is average. Good for a nice family dinner but not to enjoy Chinese food. Also the cook doing the fresh meat had a terrible attitude read more

This place has good service good food and the rice bomb I shoved it straight into my bigg asshoole

THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! our server never took one empty plate from our table. Never filled our drinks...and on top of it all the food was always empty. No wonder they say buffet, when they never refill the food at dinner rush hour! That must be how they make $$, theres no food! This was not my 1st trip but I tried to give them the beniefit of the doubt. Horrible mistake! My whole family walked away still hungry after forking out over $45 you would assume everyone would be full! Nope. Another thing is the food that was out looked as though it had been sitting there all day...yummy day old seafood! NEVER again!!! Horrible service, servers with bad attitudes, and no food or food I would only feed my garbage disposal! read more

Ate here with my mother. We were invited to seat ourselves while the distracted cashier was occupied by her cell phone. There were no utensils or napkins on the table, I asked one of the staff on the floor for utensils and was told they were on the table, I would not have asked if they were! We sat in place for about 10 minutes waiting for a server to bring our utensils and drinks. I finally walked into the server station and got some forks, mom had to get her own napkins. Our drinks were refilled without our asking, but the server was not all that friendly. Sushi was standard fare for this type of eatery, my stir fry noodles had a slightly charred flavor and black grill top specks in them. I would have given 4 stars had the customer service been better. We just missed lunch, so it was not very busy, no excuse for practically non-existent service. read more

This place is pretty incredible. They have EVERYTHING--every Chinese dish you can imagine, including fancy seafood and duck, plus a DIY stirfry station, sushi, silly American fare like pizza, fries, roast beef, and apple pie, a dessert bar, soft serve, and MORE. I was feeling kind of guilty going here because I'd just gone off on how I needed something light and healthy, but then I got so so hungry that all I could think about was a buffet, and when Great Wall appeared in front of me I couldn't resist. But afterward, despite having eaten more than necessary, I didn't feel *that* bad. The food is not as greasy as you might expect, and I actually thought some of the dishes were pretty healthy: steamed spinach, baked salmon, fried sugar-coated dough balls.... I will definitely be back. Minus one star because hey, this is an Asian buffet restaurant. An excellent one, but we're not talking fine dining here. read more

What a difference a year makes! Last July my sister and I went to Great Wall Buffet and vowed never to return. Tonight, craving Chinese food, we tried it again based on recent Yelp reviews. Granted, we went at 5:00pm, when all the trays were filled and hot. Every dish was terrific! My favorites: orange chicken, whole shrimp, potstickers, peanut chicken, thin noodles with vegetables, crab Rangoon, spinach with garlic. Really, every dish was great!! We will definitely go back. read more

Came here with some friends from out of town. They had been here before and had really enjoyed it before. I had never been here before. I thought the decor was pretty plain and the lighting was a bit dark for my tastes. But I am here for the food and not necessarily the decor. The buffet tables were full and the food was pretty tasty imo. I found plenty of food that I really enjoyed and ate every bite. They even have a Mongolian Grill in the back so you can build your own plate and have it cooked fresh for you. I love this kind of stuff. The service was quick and helpful keeping our drinks filled and our plates cleared . After reading reviews here about their health records I looked it up and they got a 80 in September. I probably would try it again. read more

The food is always great - in taste, quality, and variety. They are good about keeping the food stocked and fresh. I really, really appreciate that they provided me alternative seating arrangements, due to a health condition. That's what I call good customer service! Well worth the 30-mile drive into Salem to eat here, every time. read more

Check out this link. I don't know how this restaurant is still open. They have been closed many times to failing scores even their last score only passed by 2 points. This is a place that gets check every few months and still keeps low scores or fails. I would not eat here. http://apps.co.marion.or.us/RIS/Restaurant.aspx?rid=242542A read more

I love this place. The food is authentic. I love the siu may (the best one I have ever tasted than in many other places!), the cheese stuffed mussels. These 2 always make me come back :) All other food is good enough. Been there since it's opened, and yet the menu has not been changed. It's still the same. read more

I've always enjoyed coming here. It's a typical buffet, so you have a variation of foods to eat. You can also make your own meal creation with noodles and your choice of meat right in front of you. I've never really had a problem here, although service can be a little slow sometimes and the restaurant could use a little remodeling/decorating after all the years it's been open. But my family has been going here since the beginning and still enjoy it. read more

If you're not overly concerned with the quality or taste of the food you're eating and just want to pork out for $9.50 then this is the place for you - The food is hot and lots of it. But you'll probably regret it later on in the afternoon. read more

Awful! Not only are the seats all ripped up and place not clean, the food was not good. Seafood was frozen, not fresh. Veggies were either frozen or canned. Mediocre taste. Even the packaged fortune cookies were stale. I don't even think their soups were homemade. The Mongolian style stir fry was being worked by a very unhappy looking woman who added all kinds of oils/sauces without asking anyone what they wanted. read more

Open for Xmas, which was nice. Food was acceptable (go with the fresh stir fry) but the bathroom was DISGUSTINGLY dirty and needed repair.

Not a bad spot to get your Chinese food fix at! I've never once been there that there were way to many people in there which I tend to prefer. Not a elbow knocking kind of guy. Good quality food that may be priced a tad higher than most other places but still good none the less read more

Enjoyed this Chinese buffet a lot. I'm always looking for good vegetables and fruit in this kind of place, and liked the broccoli, string beans, greens and mushrooms a lot. All the food we had was tasty, and the service was good. read more
