Delicious food, prepared thoughtfully, by nice people. Many vegetarian options. A great lunch while spending time at the waterfront.

I love this place and is perfect for a great burger, fries and shakes. The restaurant is very large and the staff are friendly. You come in and you can order on a tablet and they will let you know when your food is ready The burger had fresh toppings, perfectly seasoned meat and a soft bun. It was one of the best burgers I've had. As for the fries, they were a good portion and were cooked to perfection. Overall, this is a great burger place downtown. If you are in the area stop by and you can even get takeout. read more

Disappointing Experience at Great State Burgers After hearing mixed reviews, I decided to try Great State Burgers, hoping for a solid meal and maybe even a new go-to spot for burgers. Unfortunately, what I encountered was far from satisfying. From the moment I walked in to the last bite of my food, my experience was underwhelming, and I left more disappointed I had gone in hoping to enjoy a decent burger and instead left feeling like I had wasted my time and MONEY In a city with so many great burger options, Great State Burgers didn't come close to living up to its name. Sadly, I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to others looking for a quality burger experience. And my drink was 11 dollars read more

When you walk into a restaurant that brands itself as premium, you expect more than just a meal--you expect an experience that matches the price. Unfortunately, Great State Burgers failed to deliver on all fronts. After spending a significant amount of money for what was supposed to be a high-quality burger, I was left not just disappointed, but frustrated. The food didn't justify the price, the quality was underwhelming, and to top it all off, the added tax felt like an insult after an already expensive and mediocre experience. First, let's talk about the price. Great State Burgers markets itself as an upscale burger joint, which might justify a higher price tag--if the food lived up to the promise. But paying over $15 for a single burger (before tax) creates a certain level of expectation. You imagine a juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked patty, maybe paired with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a soft, fresh bun. Instead, what I got was bland and unimpressive. The patty lacked seasoning, the bun was dry, and the toppings were carelessly thrown together. It felt more like a fast-food item you'd get in a rush at a drive-thru, not something from a restaurant charging gourmet prices. Then came the issue of tax. While it's normal to pay tax on food, the total after-tax price pushed the meal into an even more absurd range. It felt like being charged extra for disappointment. No one minds paying a bit more if the meal is great. But when the quality doesn't match, every cent spent feels like a waste. Worse, there wasn't even a sense of value in the overall experience--no great service, no unique environment, nothing to balance out the cost. In the end, eating at Great State Burgers felt like being overcharged for something completely average. If you're going to call yourself "Great," you have to deliver. But this was mediocre food with a premium price tag--and an unexpected tax on top. For a place that sets high expectations through branding and pricing, it fell flat in every way that matters. This was a great stop for my family. I was able to find my first veggie chicken burger. It was amazing! Everyone was able to get everything they wanted. Once we had our order we were able to find a table big enough for all 6 of us to sit. Highly recommend this place. read more

Firs time trying this out and their burgers are pretty good. It reminds me of when you cook a burger at home on the grill, the fries were good. The burgers though are smaller then normal but don't get me wrong they were very good burgers. Come and try out the boss it's a good one. read more

Good place! I didn't think it was overpriced, but I'm from California so these are normal prices for me. The fries were realllyyyy good- not too salty. The 2 burgers we got were really good. The employees were very nice. It seemed like there was only 1 bathroom and so there was a long line the entire time we were there. Other than that, really good food. read more

My review is actually 2 1/2 stars the burger came up way too fast. You could definitely tell the cook with sandbagging which never is a good thing not a fan of Jones cola but if you are more power to you, this place serves it The burger was just middle of the road could've closed my eyes walked into Burger joint. There was nothing spectacular The french fries are god-awful the cheapest french fries you can possibly buy from a wholesaler stop using these fries to every company that uses french fries stop using these fries. This place doesn't have bad food but it doesn't have good food. It's like if McDonalds put on a mask and made the fries saltier. For the price of the food though, the quality does not match it. Paid over 20 for a small cheeseburger, small fries, and small shake (size of their water cups). Their website they source everything local, but I'm pretty sure they just get plain white bread buns that you could find at winco. I understand why they are expensive. Downtown Seattle on the water front, rents gonna be expensive so they gotta account for it. If you're going there to eat it's either because there are no other easy options or the novelty of it (and it's not a great novelty) The service isn't bad by any means. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. The ambiance of the place isn't bad but missing a lot. They're a Washington burger chain and this place specifically is on the water front. They do nothing to show off they're from Washington or the fact they're on the waterfront. read more

This place has the best breakfast sandwiches, I ordered the hash brown egg and cheese with bacon and sausage and it was amazing. They also have really good burgers so I definitely recommend this place to anyone on the pier. It's very clean and spacious and they have games for kids. And the service was great. I'm definitely coming back again read more

The staff are amazing, fabulous, all of them deserve raises. I've been to a few different locations the one by the Amazon towers the water front location the international district which is closed. My favorite burger is the Boss Burger which is a double bacon cheeseburger and who doesn't love a double bacon cheeseburger especially with thick cut apple wood smoked bacon. So good and they have Seattle's own Jones soda which is pretty good. Even the Great state burger is always delicious I'm a sucker for Bacon so I'm always adding Bacon to my burgers. It's just so good with bacon the service is always good and they are usually very friendly you get refills on the soda so that's cool. I like the booth style seating and you can get as much ketchup as you want when you order fries it's self serve and I like that. It's a well thought out place. My friend really likes the crinkle cut fries so that is always cool. read more

Place was nice looking and clean. Food was way too salty my wife ordered corn pup it was just ok. I ordered their boss burger and it was way over seasoned almost a salt lick. Fries were crinkle cut and they were good. I ordered a coffee also and it was ok but they only have sugar and I am diabetic. Place was not much too mention and lots of other places to eat I would just skip unless you really need a burger read more

18 bucks for a shake and fries. Shake was smaller than the water cups and overall severly over priced

I'd been wanting to try Great State for a while, so when we saw one on the waterfront it seemed like the place to go. I'm sorry. The food's just not good. The burger was, at best, okay. I didn't like it, but I'll give it points for trying. Maybe others would like it better. The fries were not worth eating. Crunchy and tasteless. I literally threw them away after one bite. The soda was both devoid of carbonation and taste. Like it was uncarbonated water with about half the syrup it should have. I tried multiple sodas in case it was a problem with one of them. No, every single one had the problem, with the exception of the orange cream soda which someone how had twice as much syrup as it should have. It still lacked carbonation. I won't be back. read more

I have never wrote a yelp review in my life. I had to get an account because this was by far the worst burger I've ever had. I got something simple: a cheeseburger. It was absolutely tiny and horrible, genuinely do not go here for food. The workers are kind and caring, nothing wrong with their service. Overall just avoid coming to this location, haven't had the others so i wouldn't know. read more

My husband and I were visiting Seattle and doing the tourist thing in Pikes Place/Waterfront area and needed to find lunch. I have a shellfish allergy, so options were limited. We found Great State Burger. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Daniel. Daniel was cleaning up the lobby area and said that he would be back to the register in just a moment. We looked at the menu and were ready to order once he returned. We ordered a Boss Burger combo with a chocolate shake and a cheeseburger. When Daniel gave us the shake, he accidentally made a strawberry shake. He made the correct shake and told us to go ahead and keep the strawberry one. We sat down and noticed the chill vibe and decor. We also noticed how clean the restaurant was. I was impressed. Our food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious! Our expectations were blown out of the water. The ingredients on the burgers were fresh and prepared well. The shakes were on point and the fried are magical! They have crinkle cut fries and they were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside The bathrooms were very clean and they have a code that you need to get from an employee to use the restroom. Super awesome! They also offer Jones soda as a fountain drink. As I stated, we were both impressed and recommend visiting here if you have the opportunity to be in the neighborhood!. read more

We came all the way back today just to get one of these burgers. From the photos it looked like it would be delicious. I should have checked you out. I never do this but I did today. There was no line to order food but there was a massive line for the bathroom. Very disappointing the cheese was not melted terrible. Can't say anything good other than the woman taking our order was very nice. But she's not behind the counter actually making the food. Horrible. $35 for 2 breakfast sandwiches with coffee and hashbrowns. Wife asked for no cheese & when i took it back up manager gave attitude and called her a liar saying she never asked for no cheese then remade it with a major attitude. And my wife couldn't even eat it as it was so bad. I took a bit it was horrible. Very soft like it wasn't fully cooked. Coffee was horrible as well. Nothing and i mean nothing good about this place spare yourself and stay away. If there were negative stars she would get em read more

Burgers are boring- very plain. My cheeseburger only had a slice of cold cheese on it. The veggie burger had 2 pickles and 3 shreds of lettuce. The onion rings were outstanding! My 13 yr old son who is a picky eater said their cheese burger was bussen bussen. I guess that means good. He later said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. My other son had a berry malt that he really enjoyed. I had an order of fries and they were perfect. This is the first place I've ever seen their soda fountain was all Jones drinks. A very unremarkable burger joint for a less than desirable price. We came here with a craving for a burger after a day exploring downtown, and even through the rose tinted glasses of a burger hankering the burger we got here was cafeteria tier. Hanging out down town for Pokemon Go Fest, Stopped in for a bite. Prices are high in many food establishments for downtown but this seemed less than most. Listen up carefully for your order to be called it is loud in there. The bathrooms were crowded and there was a line of about 10. I'm not sure if all people were eating there or just using the restroom. Portions are small so don't expect much from a oder of crinkle fries for over four bucks. Maybe a one potato amount per order. I took the shakers of S & P, applied some to the fries and grabbed a ketchup and a special sauce. The special sauce was tasty might I say. There was plenty of seating inside for a busy Saturday around 2:30. Breakfast sandwich was tasty, not worth the 8 bucks. Next time I'll plan to pack some food if I will be downtown all day. I probably just consider finding a coffee shop or maybe an energy bar somewhere. If you go downtown, expect to pay more than normal. Maybe that has something to do with the fight of fair wages among the city, or maybe I'm getting old ha ha ha! read more

They have sports on TV as well as a basketball hoop game to play. The food is delicious, I found out they had breakfast all day so a bacon egg and cheese hit the spot! There was so much egg on it. The food tastes funky like you can tell it's bad. We ordered a burger, a corn dog, French fries, and a chocolate milk shake. Every single thing was absolutely disgusting and we were honestly worried about getting food poisoning we threw it all away. When I bit into the corn dog it tasted so horrid that I spit it right out. The chocolate shake was just chocolate ice cream in a cup, no milk no shake it wouldn't even come up the straw because it was so thick. I'm just in disbelief this place is in business. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Whoever owns this place needs to sit and eat the food to see for themselves. Don't serve that garbage to people. All the tables were dirty staff was not cleaning for people to sit down to eat. Just a terrible place all the way around. read more
