There was a bad hail storm that ruined my roof. Tim and Miguel came to the rescue. They were here at my house, crawling over the roof, and documenting the damage right away! Very friendly and courteous too! Together with their team they made sure everything was submitted to my insurance. I was so happy to see it was covered and could be repaired. Tim and Miguel were at my house and talking to me each step of the way. There were two more visits, the first to pick the new roof color and the second to install the roof. I'm writing to let you know what a terrific experience I recently had with Great Roofing. From the beginning, we had an excellent relationship with your company--especially with Joseph Lopez, your top-of-the-line Project Manager. Joseph returned my first call within a few hours of receiving it. He then came out and patiently explained what I needed to have done. After removing the shingles from the roof, your workers discovered the underlying wood was out of code. So now I needed to put on a new roof as well as replace the bad wood. Everything went smoothly with the installation and the workers stayed late to finish the job, even though it was a Friday. That evening, I was in my family room when I heard a thud, which told me something had fallen down my chimney chute. I didn't hear any additional noise until Saturday night and that was when I knew something was definitely inside my chimney. Monday morning I called Joseph to ask if the roofers had installed a chimney cap. He immediately came to my house and found out that yes, they had put one on. Now, however, I had a visitor in my chimney. Joseph did everything he could to help me figure out how to solve the problem and get whatever was in there out of there. He even took the cap off.  He also took photos, but we still couldn't make out what it was. Deciding to leave the cap off, he tossed a rope down the chimney with the hope that whatever was in there could get out using the rope.  Joseph came out three days in a row to check if there was any progress with the problem. When we determined he could not help, we realized I needed to call a trapper. Within a few hours the trapper removed a very active squirrel from my chimney. He then reinforced the cap before reinstalling it. I had to pay the trapper to remove the squirrel. When I asked Joseph what the company could do for me because this whole thing happened within an hour of the roofers leaving. Joseph said he wasn't sure and that he would have his boss call me.  I'm happy to tell you that Great Roofing paid for the removal of the squirrel from my chimney. Joseph went above and beyond in his service. From start to finish he was there for me. I highly recommend Joseph Lopez and Great Roofing. They did a Great job on my roof and I am now squirrel free! read more

Michael helped us navigate the process of an insurance claim, he answered all my questions, encouraged us along the way, and came to our home and represented us up on the roof twice with two different adjusters. He definitely knows how this process works. He called us and kept in touch through the whole process. Finally, it was time to install our new roof! The crew were some very hard-working men. They took care with our property, protecting any surfaces during the tear-off and installation of the new roof. Their workmanship is outstanding. They were all so friendly and worked so hard! I assisted a family member in seeking a company for a repair job for eves. We Literally went through over 20 companies! Most never called back, some didn't do that kind of work / work in our area, several Lied and Never gave us a quote or man / woman up and say "I'm sorry, but we can't take this job on, no thanks," after physically coming out & giving a complete estimate! Great Roofing of Homer Glen, Illinois was one of the first several companies we got to come out after an extensive & exhaustive search. PROFESSIONALS. They were knowledgeable, approachable, respectful, punctual, law abiding, etc. They even brought a drone and offered to do a fly over inspection at NO Charge! A family owned business that we were told started in Brookfield, IL back in the 1930s. A written, itemized, signed, and dated estimate was given the day of the estimate with most legalities listed. Many companies couldn't / wouldn't do this! G.R. did what they said they would. We went through as many comapies as we could & decided to hire Great Roofing. We got on their schedule & they came out & got going FAST! Only one main negative: they could have cleaned up better after the job was completed. Then again, there was 2 main guys that did the job (Fred and "Vollie?"), so... Vollie did most of the work and he could probably compete in a Guiness Book of World Records challenge for his profession! No joke! That Fast and Good! Great Roofing was AVAILABLE before, during, AND After the job was done & final payment was handed over. If not available at that moment, they'd return a call hours later or the next day! WoW! These guys are busy, but can still balance out contacts, leads, & jobs in progress better than most companies these days. They even assisted us in advising us on other home repairs needed after their job was done. They were Honest & told us they could do said additional work, but it wasn't their forte & that we could get it done cheaper with another company. Tom and his son Mike came out and checked some issues I had on my homes roof. They discovered issues I didn't even know about. Came back and met my insurance adjuster and took care of everything for me with the insurance company. The crew arrived 15 minutes early on the day we had scheduled. His crew went up and above making sure my roof was completed to my up most satisfaction. They completed a complete tear off including wood to the studs on a 1000 sq ft house and a huge shed. Installed seamless gutters on house and 2 1\2 car detached garage in 8 hours start to finish. The clean up was awesome, no trace that they where even here at the end of the day. This is a family owned and operated business that's been here for 75+ years and it shows with their knowledge and workmanship. Best part- they warranty their work and material. Had them out to check out a leak that was coming in on my ceiling. They responded quickly and showed up within in day. They knew exactly what the issue was, went up in the attic, took pictures with their phone, and then came down and showed it to me. Also while they were up there, they showed me another leak that I was unaware of. We went into that room and sure enough, we could see the leak on the ceiling. I found their quote to be fair and they returned on our scheduled time to fix the problem. Also while they were up there they noted our insulation in the attic was low, we had very few baffles, and our insulation was blocking some air flow. They asked about some issues we may have been having and it turns out that we were having all the problems they mentioned, we just didn't know it was due to how low our insulation level was. They gave me a separate quote for what they recommended. I found their pricing to be fair and had that work done as well. They showed up at the scheduled time and added all the blown insulation and added baffles. They did a great job. When they were done, they invited me up to show me all that they did. It was messy work, but they protected everything and cleaned up with job was done. They did fantastic work. read more

Great Roofing did an excellent job with my roofing project. The price was fair and the time spent addressing my concerns was priceless. The crew arrived 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. They were professional and thoughtful of the property, using tarps to cover plants and sheets of plywood over the glass of an enclosed patio. Upon completion of the roof all trash was completely cleaned up and hauled away. A magnet was used around the perimeter of the house for nails, etc. A major job completed in under 6 hours. This business is 80plus years in existence. Mike, a co owner, is fourth generation, and the pride and professionalism handed down from father to son is obvious. Great Roofing did an outstanding job and I would not hesitate to use them for future home improvement projects. read more

We were HIGHLY satisfied with Great Roofing LLC! After meeting with at least 10 roofing companies, we chose them 2 years ago for a complete tear off and roof. They were so informative, knowledgeable, not pushy and did excellent work and kept us informed along the way. Now 2 years later, we had some water coming into our garage a couple times when it rained. We called them first and Mike came back out, we found out the leak was not from the roof but rather from a window above the garage with very little caulk. Mike went to the store, came back with caulk and re-caulked the window himself. He refused to let us pay, he just wanted to make sure we were satisfied and knew were the source of the leak was coming from and taken care of. We could not be more satisfied with the company, the people & the great work they do. We would highly recommend them for any roofing issues you have!!! read more

I am reading some of the bad reviews about this roofing contractor and I am shocked. My parents had a complete tear off and roofing job done on their house and garage. The owner came out with his little service dog and spoke to my elderly parents while I was there. He was polite and professional. His dog never left his lap. He went over the different options and showed us the material that would be used. He gave me a list of neighborhood jobs that they had done. We chose them to do the work pretty quickly because I had researched them first. They scheduled a date and time with all of us and they were there right on time. They worked all day and never bothered anyone. They cleaned up the mess and went on their way. It's been about 2 years and my parents are very satisfied. I would highly recommend them and I generally don't trust too many businesses when it comes to how they treat senior citizens. When I called them I told them that I insisted on being there from start to finish. They accommodated my schedule and treated my parents with great respect. read more

If I could've left ZERO stars I would've .. Unnecessary amounts of harassing phone calls at obnoxious hours of the early to way too LATE evenings... Calls got so bad I had to block the number from my cell phone and then the calls to my home started. If it wasn't for Toms arrogant and non professional attitude, the estimate might of been considered (multiple estimates received and this is the only company to act in this manner) but unfortunately if you're gonna treat your potential customers that way I'm not certain how you receive signed contracts, because with an attitude and customer service so poor I would assume so would be the quality of your work ......... Total rip off. I had a minor leak in my roof and mortgage company would not give me a loan unless I got it fixed. This company spent no more than 20 minutes on my roof, replaced a few shingles and ripped me off for $1,000.00. I will never hire this company and will tell others not to as well.
