I am extremely happy with the service, quality and professionalism that we received from A-Abel Roofing. We were very hesitatant to put in an insurance claim or have our roof checked out after the storm because we had no experience and didn't know of anyone we could trust. That all changed when our neighbor recommended them. From the beginning to the very end I was thrilled with the way they handled our claim with the insurance company, saved us a ton of money and our roof came out beautifully with a crew of people that worked hard and cleaned everything up as it was progressing. They even trimmed some tree branches that were hanging over part of our roof that always caused gutter clogs. I highly recommend them and I can't wait till our gutters and facia are installed! If you are looking for someone you can trust...look no further. Call A-Abel! Sue Johnson, Tinley Park read more

I'm disappointed with A-Able Roofing. They installed gutters for me years ago. I called with an issue and I was told I had a warranty. The representive came out and told me they don't do repairs and said he would see what they would be WILLING to do for me. He then asked if I would be willing to get new gutters. He never contacted me and I called them. I think the man I spoke with name is Wally. For whatever reason he assured me that the representive was not racist although I never implied or said that he was a racist. We had a discussion and I told him I was okay with paying for the work. He said he would call me back after reviewing the photos (which I never saw). That was May 18th and I have not received a call. If they were not interested in the job they should have been transparent. Jeff I called your business three times and I have not received a call back. I saw your response a week ago when I was going to post another review regarding my roof. I contact the office to have someone come inspect my roof because I had a leak. Mark came out and said he didn't see anything wrong. I called back on Aug 8th and ask how did he not find anything when I have a leak. Mark came back on the 10th and had the following finds: There was an issue with a nail near the chimney which he fixed with caulk, a few loose shingles which was also repaired with caulk and a few soft boards that he said felt thin and some other issues with the board that he said would need to be fixed later down the road. I let him say everything regarding the boards before I told him that you had replaced a board or two in that area. Mark had a surprised look regarding that information. My issue with the boards is why is the issue not being addressed now, why wait? Secondly, I had a home inspection due and was told that area near the chimney was a potential issue. I contacted your office and your son came out and did an inspection which he found nothing. Now fast forward to now, it appears that the inspector was correct and I was left getting a leak and soft floor boards. I had three different companies come out to look at the roof and gutters. All of the companies showed me photos and stated that a poor job was done and showed me were corner were cut by A-Able. The pictures I saw explain why A-Able has not shown me any photos despite me asking to see the photos on several occasions. Don't be fooled by the BBB rating. You pay money and get a great rating. read more

Pretty bad when you leave your info at my door and there is a ROOF SIGN that is on my lawn - with the company that will be doing the work. Obviously you can't read or don't care or both. read more

I contact A-Able regarding an issue with my gutters which they installed years ago. The lady that answered the phone told me I had a warranty which I didn't know about. I was not concerned with A-Able fixing my gutter for free and had no problem if I had to pay. The problem was the employees delivery of his message. He told me he had to go back to the office to see "What and If they would be willing to do any thing". He then asked me if I was willing to pay to have all my gutters replaced. Sounds like they could have done the repair but chose not to do so. read more

Contacted them for gutters for an old home from 1890. Paul called me and was amazing from start to finish. Professional, detail-oriented, friendly, and responsive - just a few words of many to describe him and the team. 10/10 - don't hesitate to contact them. I will be for our roof in the future! read more

We had a rep Mike come out to our home after the recent storms. He stated that he would work with our insurance company to replace the entire roof as that what is needed due to damage and the age of our shingles. Once our insurance company approved only a repair and not a complete replacement Mike ghosted us. We've been calling, leaving messages with absolutely no response for weeks. This is a contractor company only interested in duping clients into filing unnecessary claims impacting insurance rates and then dropping out of communication once a smaller job is needed. I do not recommend this company. Buyer beware! read more

This company was very reliable. The staff was very nice, friendly, and easy to get a hold of and answer all your questions. The quality of work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. They cleaned up as soon as they finished. I would definitely hire this company again. read more

Our roof looks great! We were impressed from the very beginning when they came by for the consultation that guided us through the selection process and pinpointed the areas of concern with our old roof. Truly outstanding work. Highly recommend them for any type of roof needed. They finished in just one day and they even took extra precautions to protect our newer driveway. They are very professional. read more

I was sorely in need of a new roof and though I was fully insured, I was uncertain of how to proceed with a claim. A-Abel Roofing came to my rescue and managed the insurance process from start to finish not to mention the gorgeous roof installed on both my home and garage in 1 day. Paul was exceptionally helpful and Wally was very patient with me and the insurance company. Great customer service and quality workmanship. I won the prize when I stumbled upon A-Able Roofing. read more

Terrible people to deal with. They did a roof inspection for me and after, 1 1/2 weeks of constant calling for the price and them giving me 1 excuse after another. They finally said we don't want the work. WTH! They could have told me this on day 1 and I would have moved on. I paid them $150 cash for the inspection! They took my money, I got a shoddy misspelled document with no information for me to even give to another roof for pricing. I will never waste my time with them. I am a real estate broker and property manager, so having a good team of servicers behind me is tantamount to my reputation. If you are looking for integrity and good business dealings go elsewhere. Perhaps the house being in Markham played into their decision based on a prior reviewer read more

Great job installing gutters on my house and garage. The price was better than anyone else in the area. I would highly recommend A-Abel Roofing. read more

Shop around! A ABEL came out gave me an estimate for my house of $15,500.00 for my house and another $3,000.00 for my shed and gazebo and it was an insurance related claim.Scott the estimator came out and met the insurance adjuster and they only covered half a roof.I contacted 2 other contractors for estimates and both were in the $12,000.00 range for all 3 of my roofs not $18,500.00 that A ABEL wanted, and the one contractor that I gave the job to met with a second insurance adjustor from my insurance company and got my whole roof covered instead of only half that A ABEL could not achieve for me.Than the owner of A ABEL calls me cause I text Scott the estimator to see if they could match the other 2 estimates and I would give them the job but no luck. The owner Jeff calls me a couple days later yelling at me with attitude that they are the best and they did so much for me as I was waiting for Insurance issues to get straightened out but he would not match or come down on their price from the other 2 estimates and not give me a better shingle like the other 2 contractors offered. So do the math $18,500.00 or $12,500.00?? Shop around and save a ton of money!! read more

Received a very timely quote from them. Pricing was fair and the work seemed to be done efficiently. Overall good experience. Happy to see quality contractors such as A-Abel Roofing still exist in the residential construction market. read more

It was a pleasure to deal with the sales person as well as the office personnel. All were very responsive and helpful. The estimate detailed the work to be done and the materials to be used. The office manager was clearly experienced in working with insurance claims and did what was needed. I also needed a recommendation for some brick work to be done and was referred to someone that did a great job and coordinated the timing with the roofers. Everyone performed the work exactly as scheduled, did a beautiful job, and cleaned-up everything afterwards. Price-wise, A-Abel was in line with other estimates I received. I haven't received my final bill yet, but I am confident there will be no surprises. read more

I can't say enough good things about the professional, quality and honest job A-Abel Roofing performed. Their price was lower than another bid and it was all-inclusive. They covered all personnel property around the house so that no damage was done to any plants or furniture. Any loose nails were picked up with magnets so nothing was left. They even swept out the inside of my garage to make doubly sure. When they were done it looked like they were never there except the new roof looks beautiful. I've gotten many compliments from neighbors. I would definitely recommend A-Abel Roofing to anyone, the only way to go. read more

Kudos are due for them working so efficiently with my insurance company, and the quality of work being exceptional. Be advised that they would rather not service Chicago. The salesman and admin were great! The workers showed up at 7:30 promptly and began to work. They were done by 1PM and almost immediately, neighbors were asking for their information. My roof looks fantastic. With that said, my chimney needed to be replaced last minute, which i approved on the day of service at the last minute. The wrong color was installed since they only had one in-stock, so someone other than myself, made the executive decision to install it. I let them know immediately and was given a bunch of reasons as to why that color was installed by the owner when i called him. When i dropped off the final payment a few days later i again, let them know we were not happy with the chimney, i could hear the owner yelling "THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!!!" Okay, i let it slide and the owner emerges, and says that they will correct the issue. I did not hear from them for over 6 weeks regarding the chimney. About two weeks after the replacement roof work, we notice water dripping from a light fixture. Rather than coming straight away to take a look, the owner asked for pictures, then gave several reasons over the phone as to why it was leaking. We have a ranch, there is no other reason than the roof leaking. With that said, no one from this company ever came out to inspect the leak at all. Back to the chimney, they show up at 7:45 one random morning unannounced to begin work on replacing the incorrect chimney. Problem? No courtesy call, with a wife that works nights and a 6-month old at home, it's a huge problem. When they replaced the roof, things were re-arranged, my wife slept at her parents and i stayed with the baby, just in case she could not sleep through the noise. In summary, either this owner has something against Chicago residents, young people, black people, or all of the above. What is clear to me, is the blatant lack of respect. They were highly regarded and recommended by a work colleague. But they live in the suburbs and are white, so when they had a leak in their roof, someone was out to them within an hour. Apparently, demographics makes all the difference to A Abel Roofing, when it should only be dollars and reputation. Truly disheartened and disappointed. read more
