I contact A-Able regarding an issue with my gutters which they installed years ago. The lady that answered the phone told me I had a warranty which I didn't know about. I was not concerned with A-Able fixing my gutter for free and had no problem if I had to pay. The problem was the employees delivery of his message. He told me he had to go back to the office to see "What and If they would be willing to do any thing". He then asked me if I was willing to pay to have all my gutters replaced. Sounds like they could have done the repair but chose not to do so. read more

We had a rep Mike come out to our home after the recent storms. He stated that he would work with our insurance company to replace the entire roof as that what is needed due to damage and the age of our shingles. Once our insurance company approved only a repair and not a complete replacement Mike ghosted us. We've been calling, leaving messages with absolutely no response for weeks. This is a contractor company only interested in duping clients into filing unnecessary claims impacting insurance rates and then dropping out of communication once a smaller job is needed. I do not recommend this company. Buyer beware! read more

Terrible people to deal with. They did a roof inspection for me and after, 1 1/2 weeks of constant calling for the price and them giving me 1 excuse after another. They finally said we don't want the work. WTH! They could have told me this on day 1 and I would have moved on. I paid them $150 cash for the inspection! They took my money, I got a shoddy misspelled document with no information for me to even give to another roof for pricing. I will never waste my time with them. I am a real estate broker and property manager, so having a good team of servicers behind me is tantamount to my reputation. If you are looking for integrity and good business dealings go elsewhere. Shop around! A ABEL came out gave me an estimate for my house of $15,500.00 for my house and another $3,000.00 for my shed and gazebo and it was an insurance related claim.Scott the estimator came out and met the insurance adjuster and they only covered half a roof.I contacted 2 other contractors for estimates and both were in the $12,000.00 range for all 3 of my roofs not $18,500.00 that A ABEL wanted, and the one contractor that I gave the job to met with a second insurance adjustor from my insurance company and got my whole roof covered instead of only half that A ABEL could not achieve for me.Than the owner of A ABEL calls me cause I text Scott the estimator to see if they could match the other 2 estimates and I would give them the job but no luck.The owner Jeff calls me a couple days later yelling at me with attitude that they are the best and they did so much for me as I was waiting for Insurance issues to get straightened out but he would not match or come down on their price from the other 2 estimates and not give me a better shingle like the other 2 contractors offered.So do the math $18,500.00 or $12,500.00?? It was a pleasure to deal with the sales person as well as the office personnel. All were very responsive and helpful. The estimate detailed the work to be done and the materials to be used. The office manager was clearly experienced in working with insurance claims and did what was needed. I also needed a recommendation for some brick work to be done and was referred to someone that did a great job and coordinated the timing with the roofers. Everyone performed the work exactly as scheduled, did a beautiful job, and cleaned-up everything afterwards. Price-wise, A-Abel was in line with other estimates I received. I haven't received my final bill yet, but I am confident there will be no surprises. read more

I can't say enough good things about the professional, quality and honest job A-Abel Roofing performed. Their price was lower than another bid and it was all-inclusive. They covered all personnel property around the house so that no damage was done to any plants or furniture. Any loose nails were picked up with magnets so nothing was left. They even swept out the inside of my garage to make doubly sure. When they were done it looked like they were never there except the new roof looks beautiful. Kudos are due for them working so efficiently with my insurance company, and the quality of work being exceptional. Be advised that they would rather not service Chicago. The salesman and admin were great! The workers showed up at 7:30 promptly and began to work. They were done by 1PM and almost immediately, neighbors were asking for their information. My roof looks fantastic. With that said, my chimney needed to be replaced last minute, which i approved on the day of service at the last minute. The wrong color was installed since they only had one in-stock, so someone other than myself, made the executive decision to install it. I let them know immediately and was given a bunch of reasons as to why that color was installed by the owner when i called him. When i dropped off the final payment a few days later i again, let them know we were not happy with the chimney, i could hear the owner yelling "THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!!!" Okay, i let it slide and the owner emerges, and says that they will correct the issue. I did not hear from them for over 6 weeks regarding the chimney. About two weeks after the replacement roof work, we notice water dripping from a light fixture. Rather than coming straight away to take a look, the owner asked for pictures, then gave several reasons over the phone as to why it was leaking. We have a ranch, there is no other reason than the roof leaking. With that said, no one from this company ever came out to inspect the leak at all. Back to the chimney, they show up at 7:45 one random morning unannounced to begin work on replacing the incorrect chimney. Problem? No courtesy call, with a wife that works nights and a 6-month old at home, it's a huge problem. When they replaced the roof, things were re-arranged, my wife slept at her parents and i stayed with the baby, just in case she could not sleep through the noise. In summary, either this owner has something against Chicago residents, young people, black people, or all of the above. What is clear to me, is the blatant lack of respect. They were highly regarded and recommended by a work colleague. But they live in the suburbs and are white, so when they had a leak in their roof, someone was out to them within an hour. Apparently, demographics makes all the difference to A Abel Roofing, when it should only be dollars and reputation. Truly disheartened and disappointed. read more
