My mother in law, sister in law, and myself went here today, and it was great. My Mother in law called the place to make sure they could fit us in, and they were incredibly nice and offered to stay on the phone with us in case we had trouble locating the building. When we walked in, the whole staff greeted us kindly and genuinely. We picked our colors and they already had our warm water going. They made us feel super comfortable and offered us drinks (they have free margaritas!! Score!) So, I went in feeling a little apprehensive about going so late because at other places they rush me through just to go home in time. Great Nails did the exact opposite. They payed great attention to detail and constantly asked us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We got the classic pedicure with the parafin add on and it was still only $35! My heels are softer than I ever remember them being and they look great. I usually only get pedicures like twice during the summer, but I had such a great experience I think I'll have to start doing it more often! read more

Went here after reading good reviews on other websites, and getting a coupon on the door of my place a few weeks before. The massage chairs are nice and the decorations are OK. The workers do bring you whatever drink you request (soda, water, wine). Service was very slow though, we waited for over 30 minutes just to get water drawn, and you have to pay extra for a sanitary liner in the foot baths. I asked for a mani/pedi and the manager forgot I needed a mani, so the other person I was with had to wait a long time for me to get done. The towel at the mani station was dirty and had old fingernail clippings on it. At checkout the manager also refused to honor my coupon (saying it was "old" although it was not expired and I had received it only about 3 weeks earlier) which was for $15 off. He gave me a smaller discount after I complained that he should allow the coupon. His explanation was that the owner had a baby and that he is the new manager (or maybe new owner, I'm not sure). I think they should have a sign up at least, and definitely should honor the old coupons. Not a way for them to get repeat customers... Prices of basic Mani are $12, basic pedi $25, but if you want even the usual services you have to get a "deluxe" pedi package for $40 to $60. I got a deluxe package which was OK, nothing super special. Came with your usual pedicure, scented scrub, and hot towel. And the basic mani, but the polish is cracking off after just 5 days. Overall, the workers who did the pedicures were very professional, but the manager needs to get his act together. read more

Main guy seemed nice. But the nail tech for me wasn't nice. He was rude and kept moving my fingers anyhow he wanted. He was rushing and cut into my skin and I was about to say something (my facial expression said it all) and he suddenly changed and became nicer (a little bit). I have to admit, he did do a good job and the shine on the polish lasted, there was no lifting. If I return it won't be him to do my nails Bc I can't stand rudeness. read more

Worst nail shop ever!!!! Do not go here !!!! Came for a pedicure with shellac,everything was fine in the beginning-Esther started my pedicure. Everything went down hill after she switched over to do another customer. I got an elderly worker who spoke NOOOO English! They had hidden fees such as (charge for take off shellac even though I was getting shellac again,charge for callous removal on a pedicure service,charge to put shellac back on) Aside from that,the margarita machine was not on (even though they advertise complimentary soft drinks and margaritas) They gave me a frozen/slushy style margarita because they had no regular frozen margaritas ready to sell and mind you---it was also 12pm-Midday. I spent two hours getting a pedicure walking the employee through the steps on filing,buffering,making sure my toe nails were even. There was definitely a language barrier, and just lack of urgency and knowledge! This is the WORST nail shop in Lubbock! I will not be back! I cannot even begin to describe how sad I am to give this review. I was incredibly excited to try this place after all the great reviews and boy was I let down. I do not even know where to begin. I was rushed to pick a color and was hassled about picking shellac over dipping powder. A young woman started shaping my nails. I asked for square-round and the sides of my nails were cut off, her attempt to shape. When I asked her to file the corners, she hacked away more at the sides. Some man took over and fixed the shape, but I had no nail left. I was hoping he would turn the appointment around but that didn't happen. My shellac is patchy with nail showing through. Heck, he mainly painted the center of my nail, not the sides. And it's thick. Very thick. I've had shellac at least 50 times before and this is one of the worst manicures I've ever had. The only pluses about the salon is the number of colors to choose from and Steven's pleasant disposition. read more

Not very professional...nail tech was playing on her phone the first 10 minutes of my visit even though I told her I was in a hurry to be finished by a certain time. They talked me out of what I had gone in for and down graded other salons and kept asking if they were done there and telling me I needed a new set because mine looked horrible. I asked her to file them down a little and she didn't file them at all so they are way uneven and longer than I would like. No base coat was used under the polish. They are a little bit bumpy. I will see how they last. The owners were talking to each other in their language which I find so very rude. Had to ask for a drink for the person with me. Her pedicure was over by the time they got it for her. Her tech didn't speak English. I was never even offered a drink. Lastly, as stated in other reviews, they are weird about honoring coupons off their own website. read more

I've been to several nail salons in Lubbock, and these folks are by far the best! They did a great powder gel manicure on me, and the best part is they took the time to use my own nails and nurse them back to health! They also did a 3D flower on one nail of each hand , and I've gotten rave reviews where ever I go on those! Manicure is now two weeks old and looks as good as new! So an update on my review. I received a text from the owner asking me to come back in and he would redo my nails free of charge. He said that he would take off my old nails and put them on how I wanted them to be. I do understand it may be difficult to perfect the way I want my nails but he did a lot better job, not exactly as I wanted but it is thicker and was actually squared off. Few bubbles but after 2 weeks I do not have any lifting which I did before after a few days. I will try great nails again and I hope they will look as good as I hope them to be. When you go in make sure you ask for Steven if you want something that might be difficult, he makes sure you feel comfortable and the facility is really nice and clean which is good. read more

I have been here twice now. I got a dip manicure and the basic pedicure both times. First pedicure was noooot good. The guy skipped the scrub and hot towels and barely did a massage at all. I didn't realize it until I went back bc it was my first time. I went back bc the dip mani was done SOOO well though! Lasted two weeks and 1 day and I am SUPER hard on my nails. This salon has so many color options!!! I was greeted by Jaylen (not sure I spelled that right) and she was extremely friendly, and helpful! Miranda did my pedicure, and my nails. I got the dip powder with a tip, and manicure! The price was not that bad, I paid 90 total! The pedicure (I got the tropical paradise and it was 35) the manicure for powder was 35, plus 5 for tip, 5 for French and 10 for the manicure! Miranda gave an excellent massage with the pedicure!! Do not waste your money or time at this place. First they charged me an extra $5 because I wanted my nails "long" but wouldn't cut them any shorter when I asked. Then I asked about the student discount, because I saw it on their website, and they told me that was only valid on weekdays. It was Thursday... They refused to give me a student discount because Thursday isn't a weekday? When the ad online said "not valid Friday Saturday and Sunday". They are always busy so when they are slow, I get a friendly text to let me know to come in so I don't have to wait. They have a small turn over rate and have had the same people for some time now. The language barrier was not very accommodating. The tech did a fair job for what she did. The service is way over priced. I have had the exact same service for the last 7 years in Houston for $25. I was so excited to try this place because the deals we found online for a student discount and a dip/pedicure discount. We had an appointment and they were timely about seating us and getting started. My nail tech spoke little English so it was difficult to communicate but hand gestures helped us out. My pedicure was average. Nothing special, or extravagant. My manicure was horrible. She cut my cuticles too much and I was bleeding on my thumb. When she did it I looked at her and jerked my hand back and she just grabbed my hand and didn't apologize. She then put what in assuming was rubbing alcohol on it because it burned like hell. I ended up wrapping my thumb in the towel for a minute because the pain was horrible. She then asked me to pay beforehand so I wouldn't mess up my manicure, totally understandable but I felt like when I didn't give her the tip she wanted she half-assed the rest of my mani. The paint is lumpy and doesn't even go down all the way on some fingernails. I felt like she painted whatever she wanted then came in and cleaned it up. Meanwhile I am still bleeding and she's just painting around it... the clear nail polish is ALL over my hand, under my nails, on my fingers and on my cuticles. I asked for a student discount and she didn't do it after I showed her my student ID. I had to repeatedly ask for a receipt as well. Great service. I went in on a Wednesday at noon and there was no wait. I sat right down at my pedicure chair and the woman went to town making my toes look beautiful. A basic pedicure is only $25 but they have all kinds of fun add-ons including massages and they give you a menu that lists it all out with the prices so you don't feel pressured into anything. I think the manager is ok, friendly, knows his customers. But I had gel manicure a couple weeks ago. Within less than a week one chipped then exposed nail cracked. At a week I looked down while working on computer and saw a large piece of gel chipped off another nail. On another it had worn down so white was showing on edge of red nails! Went back and had to talk to three people to get it fixed (I had receipt). They had the second person do the fix. The chipped one was fixed but her fix so the white edge didn't show? File it down - so now my nail was shorter than the rest and not even straight. On top of it - she was clearly irritated that she had to do this. There were NO other customers except one having a pedicure - she wasn't losing any business. This was second time I've had services there and except for manager or receptionist, it seems like you're imposing making them get to work. read more

Seriously, the WORST visit to a nail salon I have ever had. I had been to this nail salon a few times but this was definitely my last. We walked in and there were two nail technicians sitting down at their stations working and then there was an older nail technician just watching tv so we figured it wouldn't be long to have our pedicures started. The manager, Steven, directed us to the pedicure chairs where we waited for about 20 minutes before anyone came to speak to us, with the exception of the receptionist who offered us drinks. Finally the older woman came to start our water and when we told her the water was too hot, she smacked her lips at us, turned it off and walked away. After my pedicure, Mimi started my nails but the entire time I felt she was rushing. After leaving from my subpar trip I noticed two of my nails weren't properly done and were bumpy on top. Had I not been leaving for vacation the next morning, I would have had them fixed the next day. For a BASIC pedicure and white tip full set, it was a waste of $70.00. read more

They were friendly but fake they acted like they were giving compliments when they were just insulting how my nails were done last time and saying how ugly they were but they'd look better at this place. They also went from $20 for a fill to being $45 because of the polish I picked and because they reshaped my nails (which they barely did anything) and then argued about the coupon I had for being a student and said it was for shellac but not the color of shellac I had picked out.
