I will happily recommend Bookstore to family and friends and will never use another moving company. Their strength, kindness, commitment and pride in their job and the company, organization, efficiency as a crew (this was amazing to watch- they just flowed as a team of 5 and Patrick was an excellent leader!), was consitent and apparent throughout the entire time they spent with us. I really can't say enough good things about the experience and hope to work with them again when we hopefully buy a place and move in the next couple of years. I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

Everything about my experience with Ally Moving deserves a 5+ rating. Getting the estimate is easy and hassle-free. They quoted a fair price. They communicated precise arrival/start times. The 4-man crew showed up on time. They were friendly, attentive. They took VERY GOOD care of my furniture and household goods. They wrapped everything, moved carefully. And, the move was larger than they expected, so it was going to take MUCH longer than the quoted number of hours. The manager, Alejandro, got on the phone with me, communicated with his crew, so he'd know exactly what was going on, and instead of allowing me to pay MUCH more over the estimate, he asked me if I'd be willing to transition to a fixed price for the move. I requested to have some items from my storage moved into a new space. There were two men on the job who handled my items with care and asked me questions about what was suppose to go the whole time. I had a great experience and the stress that it eliminated was well worth the money. The starting prices are reasonable and my only complaint would be that if there was at least another person it would have went by faster. I did end up paying for an additional hour, but it was WORTH it! I would recommend them and I would use them again. In the past, I have done a few corporate (business) moves and have a high level of expectation from professional movers. Joe Brown exceeded every expectation I had. Moving is usually very stressful for me as I am a perfectionist, but Joe and his men made the entire process incredibly smooth and worry-free. They were extremely professional, and worked quickly without cutting corners. Joe (the owner) was on the property the entire time (as he promised) and he worked alongside his men. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything, especially my numerous, VERY heavy and ornate pieces of Victorian furniture. Every piece of furniture and every box was treated like it was their own. They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. Additionally, the entire team was friendly, extremely respectful, and clearly very experienced. They communicated well with me and with each other as a team, stayed organized, and kept everything moving efficiently from start to finish. They moved me into my elderly mother's occupied house (not an easy task) and were also very respectful of her furnishings and her wishes. They got everything moved without a scratch on anything, and honestly, they're the fastest movers I've ever seen. James said he treats moving like Tetris, and he and Jesse did an excellent job getting lots of boxes and furniture safely onto dollies. I also appreciated how they triaged the types of furniture and loaded so many things onto multiple dollies in order to take it all down the elevator in as few trips as possible. From a pandemic perspective, they wore masks during the move, and I didn't feel any concerns. When I had to sign final paperwork at my old place, they headed to the new place and informed the concierge of our arrival to get the loading dock ready--now that's service!
