BUYER BEWARE Staff will lie to you and say they will get expedited shipping out CHARGE YOU 15.99, print a label for a 1lb when item and packaging only weighed 5oz, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS as they seem to make their money off shipping. Took 8 days for a 3-5 day shipment, trust me it's not about lousy shipping it's the poor customer service. read more

Items advertised are not accurately described. I purchased an engine from them that they said was new with warranty. Turns out the engine was previously registered and the warranty was not transferrable. I have a compliant with the with the better business bureau regarding this company. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Wife purchased a carpet set for our boat as a gift to me for Christmas. As it is now spring and boating season is starting, I opened the box and went to install the new carpet. Out of a three piece set, two pieces fit, one does not. Obviously for a different year or model boat. The tag on it is stamped made in 2010. My boat is a 2017 model. Nowhere on the website does it state what year boat the carpet fits. I called the company and after back and forth with the employee, they offered store credit minus thirty percent plus we pay shipping, after paying over $50 bucks shipping in the first place when purchasing. Read the other reviews on here and don't make the mistake we did. read more

Don D. Bought two 3 inch cleats from them. Advertised as NEW. They lied, they were use and the chrome was pitted. When I contacted them about a return they basically blew me off. Still got their junk, won't put it on my boat. I would not do business with them again, no way. I should have read their reviews before doing business with them, probably would not have. Have to give them one star but if I could give them less I would. read more

I specifically ordered upholstery from GLS because it stated on the order page, "worry free, we accept returns". When I received the item, I realized it was the wrong color. When I asked how to return it, I was immediately told, oh no, no returns on custom cut items. Where is that on their website? Money wasted. read more

First and foremost... Great Lakes Skipper is AWESOME! I just got off the phone with Virginia... She, by the way, is absolutely the best ever! So I ordered a part... and the US Postal Service being what it is... For some reason they couldn't deliver to my house with the correct address on the shipping label which matches the same address as every single other package I received at my house... Today I got three packages so I'm pretty sure the packages are able to be delivered to my house. Anyway. I got an email from Great Lakes Skipper... Undeliverable. So I called the number on the email and request FedEx shipping, no problem. Even when there's a problem that is no fault of their own, the excellent customer service that I got will absolutely make me a repeat customer! Thanks again! read more

great lakes skipper is a great company to deal with! seems like the bad reviews are due to shipping issues, material/chemical incompatibility, or they ordered the wrong part for their application. i have done many transactions with GLS and they've always been great! thanks skipper. read more

Ordered two pontoon logs as a set and the where completely different bracket setup on each one. I called them to see about how to resolve this and they told me I ordering them that way! Who in there right mind orders two different pontoons and why not tell me you are selling me two different logs and call them a set. I'm out my boat now and $4000. DON'T DON'T DON'T USE THEM FOR ANY OF YOUR BOAT NEEDS. NOT PROFESSIONAL. They specialize in selling crap and don't care. Don't be a sucker read more

I was looking for some hard to find parts for My ETEC G2. These guys had the parts and beat everyone's prices in spades. I shopped a little AC/DC Norcold fridge as a direct replacement for the OEM part on my '88 Bayliner. I found it locally at Fisheries Supply in Seattle for $890, "marked down" from $1125. I ended up buying from www.greatlakesskipper.com for $580 (marked down from $890) plus $84 shipping from Wisconsin. I saved $315 and didn't have to brave the traffic to and within Seattle. Shame on you Fisheries Supply and tip o' the hat to GLS! read more

I bought corrugated 100' of hoses from Great Lakes Skipper for my pool. As soon as the hoses were hooked up they leaked. Now GLS says if I ship them back, at a cost of twice the $127.000 I paid for them, they will refund me for the defective hoses. They are selling crap! read more

Don't use this company. I bought expensive hinges that came scratched, stained, and looked like they had been on the floor driven over by a forklift for a week! Not exaggerating, they are beat up! Alexa at customer service told me thats what you bought, our stuff is typically damaged as much. I think they buy scratch and dent rejects from legit vendors and sell them as new? Shop somewhere else. read more

I'm a little perplexed by the ratings , my experience in purchasing a 300 hp outboard was a absolute 5 star rating and I would give 6 stars if I could . Everything was delivered as promised and customer Service was Fantastic . Needless to say a new motor is not cheap, but Great Lakes Skipper more than exceeded my expectations read more

I purchased a tachometer online. Three days later(item was still in the mail), the same item went on sale. Noticing the price drop, I called to request a refund of the difference. Simple solution that most companies would gladly offer... They refused without explanation. Won't be purchasing from them again. read more

Never again! Purchased a tach, installed in December however wasn't able to test for several months (winter time). Knowing Faria had a 3 year warranty while Great Lakes had 3 months didn't care about the 3 mo. warr. The second time I took the boat out the tach quit working so I call Faria and they asked me to look at the build date on the tach, I was surprised as the build date was 9 years ago therefore they would.t cover under warr. I wrote Great Lakes and they said sorry however they would give me a 20% discount on another, if Great Lake had told me before purchase it was old stock and would not be covered under Faria warranty I would not have purchased. On their webpage, it says "Buy with confidence". I would say to "Buy with caution"! I ordered a boat cover that was listed as an exact match for my Year/Make/Model boat. When I received, it did not fit as the cutout for the wake tower was completely off. I notified them immediately. The cover is obviously incorrect as it is the same part number of my current cover which was included with the boat when new. The resolution was I was able to return. However, I had to pay $36 for initial shipping, $41 to return ship and $44 for restocking fees. A total of $121 for a cover that was supposed to fit my boat and did not. I know they but these from the manufacturer and may not be their fault....but certainly not mine either. If you can find the part with another company, I would recommend that. read more

Great customer service and an excellent resource. Thanks...

Return policy is something from the 1960's make you get a Return Authorization by calling within 15 days, them must pay for the shipping cost and... and.. then they charge you 8% to put items back on the shelf. Never again go to overtons.com or Skidim.com read more

I have had a terrible time finding a specific part for my Misty Harbor pontoon. I found what I thought was the right part, but I made a mistake. Then upon reordering, I ordered two STARBOARD parts, instead of starboard and port. Jake and Shawn have bent over backwards to solve all the problems, of which I mostly created. They were patient, dedicated to finding what I needed and shipped in a very timely manner. I have used Overton's in the past, but I am switching my boating business to Great Lakes Skipper, because of the way these two men dealt with me. Again, great job, Jake and Shawn! read more

Purchased a Springfield Boat Seat pedestal in December, 2019 to finish a winter project on my boat. Finally able to take the boat out in May. The pedestal is a Power Rise. It rises OK but after a few minutes, it drops back down. With 30 day return policy, I guess I'm stuck with a Defective part. Buyer beware with this company read more

I was looking for a set of seat covers and ran across an original equipment canvas bow cover for my 2007 Maxum. I tried to place my order but the website indicated that the one remaining item was out of stock. I called customer service and spoke with a wonderful associate who checked on the item and found it to be available. She checked my account information and in minutes my order was placed and the cover is on the way to me. Fabulous response and service. This is the third time that I've dealt with them and I will definitely use them again. GI in NJ read more

I'll keep it short. Lost over $10,000 and no product. Couldn't dispute the purchase because they knew ahead of time and asked us to WIRE them the money instead. Would not give us our money back and stopped calling. Biggest mistake of our lives. Don't trust your money with them. If must, please pay by credit cards. You've been warned. read more

Ordered a new tach for my ski boat. Arrived pretty quick but came with no instructions. I called for installation info and as told they did not have any, they just sold the parts, I should online. I would not and will not ever do business with this company again I ordered a fuel pump rebuilding kit paid $5 for first class shipping and never received my part 7 days later. They wanted to send me out a new one and I said it should arrive within 3 days I told them I'm sorry I cannot wait any longer. Something did not seem to add up with this company they were 15 to $17 cheaper than anybody else and so I went back to see if I could reorder it and have it overnighted can't even find the part in their part directory search. I'm wondering if they ever had it to begin with. read more

I was in need of a piano hinge for a boat we are working on. There are many sizes and style hinges, so I wanted to make sure that we were ordering the correct one. I talked to Andrew at Great Lakes and he said he would get back to me that day with the hinge measurements......and He did, the SAME day. We live in a time that poor customer service is the normal. Andrew did exactly what he said and he is an upbeat sort of guy, friendly and nice to talk to. Thank you Andrew and Great Lakes. read more

Not impressed with this company. I ordered a boat table pedestal which did not fit. They charged me a restocking fee which is a ridiculous ripoff and a way to put money into their pocketbooks. McKenna is an excellent customer service personnel at GLS. I've been a customer with the Great Lakes Skipper (GLS) for a while but never called their phone support. I was skeptical at first because most of my transactions were processed online. I recently went online to purchase a custom rod holder tower for my Boston Whaler Super Sport 150. After adding the item to the cart and checking out, I was unable to complete the online purchase. I quickly called the support phone and found out that the shipping costs were too high. I was about to cancel the order and started hopping onto another website. With McKenna's persistent, she would not take no for an answer. So she quickly went to her manager for me to make sure she does not lose a coming back customer (me). She was able to work with her manager and was able to find another alternative way to reduce the shipping costs for me. Since the shipping costs are fixed specifically for the bulky items and there aren't any rooms to really change it. With her manager's approval, she was able to give me $100 off from my purchase to offset the shipping costs. This is a WOW thing for me with her perseverance/persistence to keep me as a customer to spend my hard-earned money on GLS website/phone call instead of pushing customers away to other websites or competitors. This is truly a customer experience to me and it's hard to find nowadays. I definitely recommend others to patronize your hard-earned money to the Great Lakes Skipper. They have world class customer service in house. Thanks McKenna for all your help today. I greatly appreciate you! read more

not a good feeling when dealing with these guys. Ordered a new battery charger for my boat..Price was good, however when it arrived there was no box, no paperwork, no warranty card. We will see how that works out. read more

Return policy is awful and they just don't care! Expensive to ship original product then needed to exchange size that was misrepresented on website. I was going to be charged 8% restock fee then another full price ship fee, now just going to keep it. It would cost more in shipping & restock than I would pay for the item! Poor customer service...take your business to Boat Outfitters, better prices and very nice to deal with. read more

Very poor customer service. Order two off white bolster boat seats at a value of appoximately $700.00 plus an additional $200.00 in shipping. The seats arrived in a timely manner, they were packes very well but were clearly not the off white color as listed in the item description. The seat were a bright white. After contacting customer service and sending pictures of the seats showing the bright white color next to our off white boat interior the company was willing to allow us to return them for a decision on a possible refund or an instore credit but there would not allow any credit for shipping that had already been paid or to have the seat returned. The shipping was very excessive to start with and then paying $200.00 more to return them. I would not suggest purchasing items from this company. read more

I ordered a louvered aluminum grate cover and when we received it the size was way too big and it was completely scratched and damaged. I called customer service and they said they'd refund us the money, but we would be responsible for shipping and packaging it. Very dissatisfied after speaking with the manager Kevin. Bought some boat plugs that were listed for a Tracker Boat. They may have been however not for the Tracker Boat we have.
