I am not from the area, but when I come visit this is always on my places to stop! their chicken dishes are superb. I always get a different thing every time! and I've never been disappointed!

I love the food here. Also the restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. My favorite is the chicken coconut korma and the cheese garlic naan is the best one! It's worth the upgrade price. I ran out of rice before finishing my chicken coconut korma so a bit more to balance the dish would have been nice. I didn't want to ask for more cause I believe they charge extra. But again, I didn't ask.

My second time here and I brought 5 other people with me, so we ordered quite a bit. -Lamb Rogan Josh -Goat Curry -Saag Paneer -Butter Chicken -Lamb Biriyani -Shrimp Curry -Fish Curry -Vegetable Samosa -Onion Pakora -Aloo Tikki Chat 3 different Naan and 1 Roti I love that every entree had its own unique taste. Bursting with flavor. Everything was delicious and piping hot. You truly cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. Absolutely delicious and service is excellent. They treat you like family here and keep their restaurant clean. Definitely worth a visit.

Service here is top notch. They are very concerned over everyone's dining experience here and want to ensure you are pleased with your meal. Food was decent. Enjoyed the vegetable pakora a lot and the rice. Was hoping the butter chicken at medium would have had somewhat of a kick. They were very disappointed I didn't take my leftovers. Service here makes this a destination.

Our server was awesome, very attentive and had good recommendations. My group had the chicken tiki masala, butter chicken, lamb tiki masala and Saag Paneer. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Place was super cute, loved the decor and sitting area. Their mango lassi was also pretty good and a good size.

The server was friendly. I ordered chili paneer with spice level 10 and the coating was so chewy and paneer was hard. i returned the order and the guy came to me saying if I order hot, they can't do anything if ai can't handle it. I had to explain them that I had no issues with hotness but with the texture which was the worst I have ever tried. They didn't bill me for it but just a warning not to order chilli paneer. For main course I ordered Naan and Daal tadka which was good. For dessert I ordered kulfi which was okaish as best. Overall, it was very underwhelming!

Definitely recommend! Indian food is normally very vegetarian friendly and Great India is no exception there. We ordered paneer samosas, garlic and cheesy garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, tadka fry, and bengan bhartha. All of them were delicious and I'd order them all again. The staff was attentive and kind. The only recommendation I have is that they should upgrade to a music service that doesn't have ads because every few minutes there would be really long commercials for kids shows that were super annoying and not what I want to listen to during dinner (or ever).

Came here 30 minutes before they closed and they were so quick with the service we ordered right away and got our food shortly after. The service was excellent and the food tasted great! We will definitely be back again :)

Pretty good! We came here just the other day and ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer Pakora, and Garlic Naan of course. The naan was some of the best I've had! It was so buttery and had plenty of flavor! The Paneer Pakora was also pretty good! The sauces they serve on the side were delish! The Butter Chicken was alright but not my favorite. Was a little more tomato-y than I was hoping and tasted more like Tikka Masala. The rice was also a little interesting. It's pretty thick rice with a sweet taste. The serving of rice they give you is quite small but when I asked for a to-go box they refilled my rice! Service was good and they were pretty quick. Overall decent place to go!

We were told to come try Great India by a couple people that said it was the best Indian food in Utah. Not a great parking situation and the interior has a feel like it used to be a burger joint or something. The food was good but not great. I like myself a medium chicken tikka masala but their medium was super spicy, to the point that I didn't honestly enjoy the food. We decided to try the paneer samosas which were interesting but if we go back I'd try the regular samosas. The naan was fine but a little on the thin side. Overall an ok experience but not great...If we're in the area we might give it another try.

The food really was 5 stars for us, and we have eaten at quite a few Indian restaurants in Salt Lake. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We got aloo tikka chaat, coconut korma, chicken tikka masala and a few other dishes along with 3 different kinds of naan. They still seem to be working on the decor/atmosphere but the food is already top notch. We will be back! read more

This is my absolute favorite Indian food in Utah. The food is always delicious. Try the spicy if you want to test your limits. I always feel so welcomed and cared for when I come. I'd recommend to come here for some chicken tikka misala that's to die for. Dip the garlic cheese knann in the masala. read more

This place is a hidden gem. We just moved to the area and enjoyed the old Cafe Trang so we thought we'd check this one out. The menu looked disappointing, and this place caught my eye so I convinced the gang to come here. BEST DECISION. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. The chicken coconut korma was our favorite, but the butter chicken was well done too. The kiddo loved the mango shake they recommended for him. They also made him a cheese naan, and although he hated it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back. read more

We LOVE Indian food , we used to eat at India House but they don't put enough meat in their food for this Keto chick. Saw the place open and tried it with my husband. AMAZING!!! I have eaten there 5 times a week since they opened , and kept my Keto success going with the chicken tikka masala, no rice no naan double meat. I recommend this great place to any vegan, vegetarian or gluten free person as well. The flavors are deep and complex, the family is fantastic! God bless Great India! read more

The food was delicious. I got the vegetable makhani and the flavor was spot on with tender chunks of cauliflower, potatoes and carrots. We also got the appetizer sampler and everything on it was good. Finished off with the pistachio ice cream which was so full of flavor. The service was also great. It was a rare girls night and they didn't get annoyed when we stayed longer when our food was gone. read more

Indian food in the US is in my experience generally a poor imitation of the cuisine I know and love but I live in hope of finding a good maybe great Indian restaurant somewhere. This was not it. We were seated at the back by the toilets despite the restaurant being empty. Food was bland - I don't mean spice I mean lacking flavor. Rice was not basmati and not well cooked. The dishes were almost entirely gloopy sauce with a few bits of whatever the main part was meant to be - a few piece of paneer in a soup for example. One dish had a spoon lost in it - waiter mentioned that as he deposited it on the table but we were left to fish it out for ourselves. The pitiful bits of green used as garnish looked like they were fished out of the compost, definitely reused. A few pieces of the onion baji were undercooked / basically liquid batter inside and over greasy. Service was oddly detached and sporadic. Cannot recommend. read more

I don't think I have ever had better Nan. Actually had to double our order. Portions were great. We got the butter chicken and vegetable coconut Korma. It was super busy which is always a good sign. I swear I was having terrible luck finding good Indian food places in salt lake until this one came up. Ordered some curry and naan and stir fried rice with veggies to go and order was ready in time, still warm and tasted so good. We tried the vegetable pakora (amazing and nice mix of veggies), 4 different curries (vindaloo Indian hot was just right for me, hot but not over done) and the sweet naan (oh my). I love Indian food and stick to my favorites, so I know what a good saag paneer and lamb vindaloo should taste like. I ordered the lamb rogan jash and garlic naan. The rogan jash was super flavorful even though I ordered medium (next time hot!). I was practically wiping the dish with my naan to sop up all that saucy goodness. Speaking of the garlic naan....I think this was the best I've ever had. Buttery, generous with the garlic and cilantro and super fresh. You can tell they take pride in their food and I'm so thankful. Next time I'm in town, I will be back to Great India. Kudos. read more

I'm so excited to have found this place. It is definitely a gem! I got the Lamb Tikka Masala and Golab. The lamb was so tender, practically dissolved in my mouth. Everything was so darn delicious and tasted fresh! The front staff was so welcoming and helpful, my meal was ready exactly when she said it would be. They are quick, efficient, clean, nicely priced, & absolutely delicious. Not to mention they serve you a lot in the to go to containers. I work at one of the neighboring corporate buildings so I'm excited to be back. Definite must try! read more

My new favorite restaurant! I don't live around here but I was in the area and I saw it had 5 stars on google so I thought I'd give it a try and I must say, the 5 stars is WELL deserved. I can see myself routinely making the 15 minute drive just to eat here, the food is THAT good. Tikka masala is one of my favorite foods so naturally that's what I ordered and I was blown away. Best tikka masala I've ever had, absolutely masterful, and the naan is to die for. If that wasn't enough, the service is impeccable. From the get-go I was greeted to a warm and friendly environment and the owners and employees were pleasantly gracious. Great India is by far and wide one of the very best Indian cuisine in Utah, if not North America. My mother, father, and I enjoyed the Paneer Samosa, Chicken Soup, Butter Chicken, Ginger Chicken, Lamb Biryani, Garlic Naan, Naan, and the entire meal was out of this Universe delicious. What made the entire experience exponentially special was the owner's gracious hospitality, who allowed us to sit down and order despite us entering Great India just 20 minutes before close on a Friday. From the time I walk in to the time I walk out it quite literally changes the state of mind that I'm in. Its that orgasimic feeling when you eat somthing and your entire body responds, no joke, not kidding! My hubby and I absolutely LOVE this place! For sure our go too! We typically go 2x a month. The customer service is amazing, the people are all amazing in general and the food is so yummy. Its fairly priced. Our favorite part is of course the food but the people. We have a repore with pretty much everyone there and they always take care of us. The food and service at the restaurant was above and beyond expectations. The restaurant owners are very gracious and wonderful hosts. They have a lot of variety including gluten free options!! Fish tikka masala, and garlic naan are delicious and better than any restaurant in Salt Lake City!! I am glad we found this gem of a restaurant. I chose this place cause I've been many there times before and the service and food quality is always consistent. For spice levels of mild, medium, and hot, go mild if you don't do spicy regularly. My wife and I recently moved to the Midvale area. We are now frequent customers of Great India. Tonight we ordered their Great India Special Appetizer, the Garlic Cheese Naan, and an order of Chicken Vindaloo (spicy). The flavor is incredible and the food so fresh. We talked with the owners (yep - locally owned, a big plus) and learned that they prepare the Naan when it's ordered, not heated up from earlier in the day. Its obvious!
