Kabob House - Shami seekh kabob - Pakistani Near Me - Midvale, Utah

We love Middle Eastern food! Coming from the Valley in California it was everywhere! We decided to try Kabob House, the menu looked decent. Unfortunately it was not. The ground lamb was under cooked and the Naan was had as a board. I was not expecting it to be that bad! The pictures in the menu did not match anything we received, and you think they would! It Kabobs!! Can't get any simpler than that! The chicken was ok, the lamb was not seasoned right. I am really hoping we don't get sick from this. The lady serving us was nice, but there was a huge language barrier. Which is concerning since my son has food allergies. The ambiance was ok, I liked the booths. I don't plan on ever returning, it was very disappointing. read more

New ownership @ Kabob House may not be helping. Sure, it's a cute lil family-owned Afghani restaurant..But sadly, the food did not live up to expectations. In fact, the entree we had was a complete fail. Their Saji whole chicken was overcooked and so dry it was barely edible. Some outer parts were cooked until literally rock hard. We got our order to go, and it was supposed to come with naan and rice, but we later realized both were absent. The extra sauces we asked for, also absent. Masala fries we added were plentiful for only $3, but just seasoned crinkle cut fries from a bag, nothing special. Service was friendly. Ambiance comfortable and cultural. But they had plenty of time to get our small order right and could not pull it off. They should definitely be ashamed of ever serving chicken like that. Hard pass. read more

The food is amazing and the portions are huge. My husband is from Mexico and had never had this type of food...while he was eating he said "wow...these people have my respect!" They even made his food extra spicy for him (upon his request). The server was super friendly and the cook even peeked out to see if we liked it. The restaurant is super clean, they have peaceful music playing and they have super cool platforms where you can sit as a group. We will definitely be back! read more

The foods were ok. Nothing really standee out as Greek. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant inside was kind of run down. The waiter was ok. Probably won't come back. read more

Kabob Bros is SOLID. First off, the staff is very friendly. It feels less like a restaurant and more like you're at a family friend's house where they're cooking you dinner. The beef tikka plate was flavorful and spiced well. It was perfect for lunch since I wasn't looking for anything too heavy yet wanted something good. If you dine in, they every meals comes with a free fountain drink which was an added bonus. Being right near my work, I will definitely be back again! read more

Nice fresh, quick and easy meal. The falafel wrap was good, but a bit dry and everything was pretty crunchy. My husband liked the variety of the mixed plate & said the rice was great. read more

The food was amazing, and the servings large enough to save some for lunch the next day, when it tasted even better. The service was helpful, efficient and friendly. The restaurant was quiet, with a relaxing atmosphere. I had the chicken kabobs and my sister had the lamb, and we split some samosas. The food came with some nice greens and tomatoes. The price was right too! All in all, an excellent meal. read more

They started off really bad, but it got better. I ordered the lamb shanks and my friend ordered the chicken burger. They didn't have either. The waiter said they are a newer business and things have been slow so they just didn't have everything on the menu. I ended up getting the lamb kabobs and my buddy got the chicken kabobs. The dining area was clean but the design of the dining benches were odd. The benches don't properly fit the table sizes, and the table wobbled, which was odd because it was a newer table with a heavy base. The wood worker who did the trim work had no skills at all, very bad cuts and gaps. When we got our food things greatly improved. The lamb kabobs I ordered were the best I've ever had. The rice was very good. Plus they gave us a big side plate of veggies with the meal. Unfortunately it felt as if this place won't last. They only had 1 to go customer the whole time we were there. I would definitely return for the lamb kabobs, they were amazing. read more

First visit and we'll be back! Authentic and tasty food, they even made one of my wife's favorites on the spot even though it wasn't on the menu -- Raita. The Lamb Shank Nihari and Chicken Biryani were plenty of food for two and really good! Three drumsticks in the Biryani and Lamb was tender & melt-in-your-mouth with a hearty, rich sauce. Garlic Naan is soft and flavorful. Everything FRESH! Modern urban atmosphere which for me didn't fit with the food but I get it given this community. Having traveled through the Middle East, India & Kashmir we have come to love the spices, herbs & flavors and when it's made fresh it's hard to beat. read more

Kabob bros is no more. New ownership, it's called kabob house now. I was a long time customer of kabob bros, went there almost every Friday. But I don't think I will be going to this place anymore. Food wasn't good, oily and cold, taste wasn't great. Wish I knew kabob bros was going away, I would have stocked up on their food. read more

You get a lot of food for a really reasonable price! You order at the counter and then pick your own table and then the workers bring the food out to you. There are water cups by the drinking fountain and there are napkin dispensers at the tables. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had some nice background music. If you're craving an affordable, tasty food option, check out Kabob Bros! read more

Our food was brought out we had some chicken fries our butter chicken plates and then there was a salad looking plate that we were questioning it. We started picking at our food DEFINITELY touched that salad and started eating. The guy who brought out our food said "mmmm this one is not yours" (salad) and takes the plate away. The person who ordered it got the plate WE PICKED OFF OF ! No sorries to them or to US ! This was a terrible experience my husband and I will never spend $50 there ever again. read more

Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious Mediterranean flavors delivered right to your door. I'll definitely be ordering again!

This is a great place to have lunch or dinner, especially with a vegetarian friend. It's a smaller restaurant but I always find a place to sit. The staff is very polite too. I enjoy the tikka wraps here (it's one of the things I craved while pregnant), but my favorite thing is the Ramadan special. It's a curry cheesesteak that's served only at certain times (not automatically at Ramadan, I've learned). If it were a regular menu item, I would be super happy. read more

Very friendly staff and a variety of Pakistani-inspired options to engage the palate. All sauces and items made in-house and not ordered in already-prepared from food services. The street fries were super good! Curly fries under meat, cheese, and some veggies. Eat with fork or fingers? Yes! I enjoyed the variety of textures and the meat was seasoned well. The garlic naan was wonderful and served piping hot. It was a large piece and had unique bubbles and valleys all over, perfect for retaining sauce when sopping. TIP: if you enjoy extra strong flavors like I do, ask for some extra tikka sauce (free) -- they initially err on the side of soft versus strong flavor, likely because many patrons like things a little less spicier. Portions are larger than they appear on the menu on the wall. Plan accordingly. read more

Really great food! 4.5 stars only because my plate was a little overdone. The workers I've interacted with have been kind and the food is fresh! A casual place to come when you're tired of the usual. Im always surprised this place is not packed whenever we come here, the food is amazing with just the right amount of flavor. The staff are kind and attentive, they make it feel like a family restaurant. My kiddos loved the middle eastern music videos playing in the background. The restaurant has a nice modern industrial feel and they have added some succulents on a wall for decorating. We love the vibe. read more

I was fairly surprised by the complete lack of Kabobs. I got the Chicken Tikka Platter and Chicken Tikka Masala. Both were alright. Honestly for these items there are a number of places I would go before I would go back. Nothing wrong but the flavors just didn't wow me, a little too muted. I also got the Lamb Shank Nahari and it was a bit gamey. The way they packaged my food this dish ended up tipping on it's side and a lot of the liquid from it went all over the bag. I'll be more cautious if I order take out from them again, probably by completely reorganizing the bag and or bringing an additional bag so that this doesn't happen again. I'm just going to say again, I was sort of expecting them to have meat served on a kabob. I get that it's more or less a style of cooking, but I was surprised that nothing I saw on the menu was meat on a stick. They did have some interesting items that were a little different, like using naan to make a pizza. I didn't really order any of that stuff, sticking with more traditional items. Honestly it seems like a bit of a gimmick, but I don't know. EDIT: I made a mistake. I forgot that they do have food on a stick, it's their Doughnut Kabob... read more

Friendly staff, answered all my questions about ingredients and allergies. Food was delicious and priced well... even included a free desert which was nice and unexpected. The chicken I ordered from the bbq menu was super tender and succulent and probably some of the best I've had recently. Enjoy the menu fusion, will definitely try other things in the future. read more

Waiting for this one to open for awhile now, the wait is over! So bonus star for being newly opened. Their "street" take on the traditional is pretty tasty, the samosas have a nice little kick that others have not had. They were fully cooked but the peas remained firm and not mushy. I also tried the chickens street fries, which were supposed to be the beef but whatever. Kinda like nachos but with waffle fries. The chicken was a bit dry due to the second reheating to melt the cheese. The outside of the chicken had a good coating of flavor, too bad it didn't go all the way through. I hope one day they will actually sell kabobs a la carte as the name would imply. read more

Crazy parking lot but I did find a spot. The person who took my order was nice. The food does take awhile but I had friends to talk to so it was okay. My friends got curry and didn't like the sauce- it was too thin. I got a mixed kabob plate and thought it was fine. The salad was good and so was the rice. The falafel was a bit too spicy for me and the garlic sauce too strong. The other meats were fine. I suggested my friends get the street fries and they did like those better. read more

I ordered a chicken tikka street fries and it was really good. I love the flavors and they provide extra sauce if needed. You get all the flavors that you used to when you eat a traditional Indian dish what this place has a twist of modern style to it I really love this place and I do plan to come back again and bring my family. Clean, fast casual halal spot with plenty of seating and quick service. If I could give five stars for the street fries I would... they were incredible. The rest of it though was pretty lacking. The meat on the mixed plat was very dry and the sandwich was really wet. Too much cilantro on the naan so unfortunately not the best food I've ever had... but I will come back for those fries. They were incredible. I was skeptical at first so if you are, TRUST me, they are worth it! read more

I can't speak on all the menu items, as it seems people like a lot of things here. But I've only gone once, and I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. It was my first time trying the dish, so I don't have any reference points for comparison. But I know for a fact what I received was microwaved. I heard the microwave door in the kitchen, and my food came out in a matter of minutes, served in a plastic dish. The chicken was floating in a pool of grease, and I couldn't eat much. Ended up eating mostly rice. I've seen pictures of the dish before, including the one in the restaurant, and it looked nothing alike, I've seen TV dinners that looked more appetizing. Again, I've never had the dish before, but I can say with certainty that it was not at all authentic or well made. It was very disappointing. read more

First time checking out this place tonight and it was awesome ! We got the kabob plate and the lamb shank, both were super great especially the shank and it didn't break the bank. Prices were fair and the meat was tender/fall off the bone and the combo with the naan+ sauces was super top rank. I'd recommend getting a side of rice with the shank to pour the remaining sauces over the rice because the shank sauce is dank and you don't want to waste such good sauce- I wish they sold the stuff in tanks! Anyways...The owners were incredibly hospitable and nice- stopped by the table to ask how everything was, the son took our order and he was such a ray of sunshine, provided great recommendations and was super kind and just overall good vibes and people. This is a family owned restaurant and the whole family is there running it which warms my heart- I love seeing awesome restaurants ran by even more awesome families. Super glad this place is close by, we'll definitely be back to try out all the unique/different menu items . read more

I never give review for food but I think I have to this time. Ordered chicken biryani, that has almost 20 raisins, which Pakistani Biryani have raisins? Not authentic at all. Plus, biryani was served with Cesar sauce. Authentic Biryani served with Raita. Ordered Lamb shank Nihari, that has a tomato flavor, it's more like a Karahi. Nothing is authentic Pakistani here. My rating is 4 out of 10. read more
