Every time I come to India House, they do not disappoint. Honestly some of the best Indian cuisine in the Salt Lake Valley. Multiple people checked in on us during our meal and refilled beverages and what not. It feels so welcoming as if you're entering someone's family gathering and enjoying the meal with them. Great food! We always see this small restaurant and decided to try it last night. We get there and find it's a small family owned restaurant. The young lady that seated us was friendly and welcoming. Everyone who came to our table were warm and friendly, always asking if we needed anything. The food was excellent and even though the portions looked small they are not! We were a party of four adults and one child and we all left full and with two boxes of leftovers. My daughter loved how spicy her shrimp sagg was. My infant granddaughter loved the samosas. Best Indian restaurant in Sandy!!!! I love the coconut korma with vegetables and their other specials. I usually ask them what they are best known for that week or day and then I order that. Yum best Indian food in the Salt Lake City area hands down without a doubt. I'd order from here every night if I could. This place is delicious, never overly busy and has great and fast service. I love their coconut korma, their paneer and all of the naan's. This is sort of a non-descript place: small dining area, booths line the walls with little décor or aesthetic appeal. However, the food is pretty good, which is probably more important than how the restaurant looks. I always get the same thing when I try a new Indian restaurant: chicken tikka masala. This is my favorite dish and makes it easy to compare one place to another. I enjoyed this one very much, and the portion sizes were plenty to have leftovers for later. read more

INCREDIBLE! My waitress was so friendly and attentive, she recommended what she liked best from the menu, and made me a sweet lassi (with rose water) even though it wasn't on the menu. The lamb karma was amazing, perfectly spiced with tender chunks of lamb, atop beautiful perfectly cooked basmati rice. The peshwari was absolutely out of this world - crispy and sweet with honey, raisins, and nuts. Probably the best naan I've ever had. We were in a rush, we had an appointment for an escape room so we needed to be in and out in less than an hour. We had a group of 6 of us, but only 2 of us arrived on time so thankfully the couple that arrived first was able to be seated at our table before the 4 of us got there. They were able to order our meals for us as well so that was nice that we didn't have to wait for our whole party to be there to order. By the time we got there, we only had to wait about 10 minutes before the food came out. I really enjoyed their Chicken Saag. I asked for mild and the flavor was a perfect creamy spinach flavor that I was looking for in my Saag. Their rice was good, nothing too special about it, but good. Their garlic naan was good too. Their price was a couple dollars more than the normal Indian Food places I go to ($15 for Chicken Saag) usually it's $12-$13.50. I typically have enough for leftovers, but their portion size wasn't as big as the other places I go to so there wasn't enough for leftovers. We also asked for more rice and they brought out a small bowl of rice; I would have liked the normal size rice bowl. This place is alright. For the price, I expected a bigger portion of the main dish, but it is nice that it comes with rice. Food is pretty good, spice levels were not that accurate, could vary from dish to dish. The garlic naan is very good, it's cut into 4 smaller pieces. For 4 people, 3-4 orders of the naan is probably enough. The downsides are that the restaurant is really dark inside & the service wasn't the best. We were a table of 4 & there were about 3-4 other tables in the restaurant, but we had to wait for about 10 mins before a server even acknowledged us. We then waited 10-15 mins after getting our drinks to place our order, then another 10-15 mins for our food. The pace of service was annoying, especially since we were all very hungry. As far as Indian food goes, India House is the Bomb-ay! The food is packed with spices, each sauce has its own unique flavor (a lot of the sauces tasting the same is one of my big complaints with one of the more popular Indian restaurants), everything was well seasoned, the vegetable Samosas are fresh and delicious, and the garlic naan was on point! Their house rice is a turmeric rice as opposed to a saffron rice - I love the saffron rice that other places offer but India House's turmeric rice is very good and a worthy contender. Oh, and the spice levels are accurate - the medium is gonna make you sweat a little even if you're used to spicy food! (I drink Albertos/Rancheritos hot sauce for a reference on my spice tolerance.) I traveled all the way from Lexington,KY to Utah and guess where I go? An Indian restaurant (No pun intended) After reading good Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. All of my friends are good foodie and we ordered a lot of different food items. The main thing that we liked about the restaurant are the different varieties of Cocunut flavored Kurmas (Chicken, Tofu, Lamb). I got the Lamb Coconut Korma and it was phenomenal (Probably because none of the Indian restaurants in Lexington where I came from didn't offer any cocunut Korma dishes). We also got the Aloo Okra dried dish which was tasty, spicy and amazing My friend ordered the Mango Lassi and he was happy about it. I ordered the chai which wasn't different. It was just okay. I've been to India House twice, once in the summer and once just recently. Both times, I had garlic naan and coconut chicken korma. I've been seated very quickly both times. The service has been decent both times. I wouldn't say the servers are especially attentive, but they're generally pleasant, and the food comes out quickly. The naan is delish; it's pretty hard to get that wrong, let's be honest. The chicken korma has been good both times, with good quality chicken. The second time, I decided to get brave and asked for the spice level between mild and medium. It was way too hot for me. I think I should have told him I lean toward mild. Weak palate over here (read: childhood trauma from threats of Tabasco sauce). Since the seating area is one wide open room, it can get pretty noisy if there's a big group in there with lots of children, which was the case on my last visit. So just a heads up if you're hoping for a quiet place: check the crowd first. I asked my server for dessert recommendations between the gulab jamun and the pista kulfi (pistachio ice cream). She recommended the gulab jamun, and I can't say I'd get it again. It didn't taste bad by any means, but it looks like they'd be slightly crispy donut-type item, which wasn't the case since they come soaked in cardamom syrup. It was sweet, but I just couldn't get behind the soggy texture. Next time I'll try the ice cream. Just personal preference I guess. The prices are what you'd expect from an Indian restaurant in Salt Lake. But they have a lot of coupons and specials available, so be sure to check around (I used one from a coupon calendar, and also got one for checking in on Yelp). If you stand in need of Indian food (yes, this is a legitimate need), definitely give this place a go. Solid food, normal prices, and quick service make it a good candidate for dinner. read more

Went here for the first time last night..... I will definitely be back! When we walked in the ambiance set the mood. The lighting was dim and very relaxing. Ordered the mango cauliflower as an appetizer and it surpassed all expectations! It was phenomenal. We ordered coffee which was delicious and one of the best cups of coffee I've had. It didn't need anything added to it. For dinner we ordered the coconut korma and plain nan. It was such an amazing flavorful combination. Everything married together perfectly. Today, I felt the need to fill my hangry stomach with some curry right after sleeping in and missing church for the 3rd time this month. I appreciate this place being one of the few Indian restaurants open on a Sunday so I do have an excuse to be doing something outside my house for once. I played it safe and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala ($15), in addition to an adventurous "Samosa Sampler" ($5) and an order of plain naan ($2). I was too hangry so sorry, no pics for proof of my dining. The spice level didn't seem accurate to me. I ordered a medium and tasted no spice. My spice tolerance is hot cheetos level. A turn-off was reading another yelpers comment about the additional cost if you wanted more rice? That made me very rice conservative while eating because I my cheap ass did not want to fork out extra money for a refill. Anyways...the food was all pretty good. I love Indian food and this place is mediocre compared to Bombay house. It looks like they have buffet line for lunch but I came for dinner. The chicken coconut korma was great, however I wish there was more meat. I think there were only 6 pieces for $12.99. I couldn't remember the other red curry dish that was ordered but it tasted like canned spaghetios and I didn't like it at all. It was one of their special dishes. I love pershwarmi naan! I think it's better than garlic naan. In also not a big fan of sweets but the pershwarmi naan is great! Indian coffee tastes a little like chai tea. Not as strong as tandoori. Finally decided to branch out and try another Indian restaurant other than our regular favorite. They had all the regulars on their menu including some new things I hadn't seen before. We opted for paneer pakordas to start with. They were good! The paneer was super soft and not chewy. For our main course we ordered baigain bharta, paneer masala, and coconut korma. To go with it we asked if they could make bullet naan. Oh they can and it was amazing! Bullet naan has crushed green chili on it and is super spicy! All of the dishes were super flavorful and left us super satisfied. My favorite was the bangain bharta. The only reason I dinged a star is that the portions were much smaller than any other Indian restaurant we've been to for the price point. We'll definitely be going back but just wish it had a little bit bigger of a portion size. read more

Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant, great tasting food, nice quality service, and the cherry on top locally owned! I would recommend if you aren't good with spicy food to definitely get your food mild, the medium can a be a bit hot which is perfect for me, however hot and very hot are both pretty hot. My rating scale of 1-10 on Hotness would be mild 3/10 medium 5-6/10 hot 8/10 and very hot 10+ . If you like Indian foof or have never tried Indian food you need to come to India House, you won't be dissapointed. read more
