I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here I am. This place is beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful. The people are friendly and the service is fast. Unfortunately, the food is just very sub par. I've been here twice now and both times I was excited and left disappointed. This time I ordered a Rueben sandwich. They put it on rye, not marbled rye. If there was Russian dressing, there wasn't enough. I didn't see or taste it. It tasted fresh, which is good. I don't recall what I ordered the first time, but I remember I was really disappointed. It was cold and just lackluster. You can't imagine how badly I wanted a good Reuben. My quest continues. I'll find a good deli somewhere. We are really disappointed to be writing this after being loyal customers for about 18 years. The owner is very nice, but unfortunately the staff is extremely rude every single time we come in. It has reached the point where visiting is uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The bread is not nearly as good as it used to be as well. We remember when the original owners were amazing and the atmosphere reflected that--friendly, warm, and customer-focused. Sadly, that experience is long gone. IMO the bread is great. The sandwiches need improves to be average. The service has to improve to reach incompetent. I was one of 2 customers. The woman who took my order couldn't get it the 6 feet to the teenage girls preparing food. 20 minutes later one asked me why I was loitering. Duh. Waiting for my sandwich? The other guy was told he could have fresh sourdough in 10 minutes. What he wasn't told was then it is another 40 minutes before it can be sliced. I would say stick to the bread. Order it ahead. If they say 20 or 25 minutes, give them an hour. read more

Quiet lunch at a beautiful little market/restaurant. The food was fresh and good. Chef salad was what you expect of a chef salad but could use the traditional dressing. We also had a chicken salad sandwich on their honey multi grain and it was flavorful and delicious. The service was a little off being one kitchen person and a cashier that didn't understand their promotions. unfortunately service was very slow. I love this place. I've been to individually-operated locations throughout the country and there is something special about the owner here. You can't go wrong with grabbing a loaf of bread for a friend or social gathering. I love dropping off a desert bread when you're not sure what to bring to a party, etc. Popular options (from the crowds I'm in) are the cinnamon swirl/chip and the blueberry. They also have great sandwiches and it is absolutely lovely being able to eat outside on a nice day. The sandwich quality is tied to the employee working as it seems they add different things or sometimes grill regular sandwiches, but you'll be okay with it in most scenarios. The bread is also delicious. This is not a grocery market loaf. Anything you pick up will be fresh. The texture will be great and it will be delicious. You also won't get the weird air bubbles and they will slice the loaves for you, making the perfect sandwich bread. They also offer some half loaves, which is equally amazing. They don't have allergens or the vegan options that I've seen at other Great Harvest locations, which limits some options for strict diets, but the staff is super helpful and will make sure you're taken care of. read more

Really, the best thing they make is sliced bread. Their farmhouse white bread is amazing. It'll make the best PB&J of your life. No preservatives, so it won't last more than 4-5 days. So eat it now! But it is so good. They also have cowboy cookies which are pretty good, as well. They make great grab and take hostess gifts. The cinnamon rolls are hit or miss. One day, they'll be amazing. The next, the sugar isn't even melted in and they're dry. There isn't a lot of room to eat inside so it is best to grab and go. This is the top place that I miss after we moved to FL. I have yet to find a place that has such freshly prepared bread with such delicious combinations. You can buy half and whole loafs. They bake their breads on certain days of the week so you can always be sure that the loaves you get are fresh and available. There is also a punch card where if you buy 10 loaves, you get one free. Half way to 10 you get a cookie that are the size of a small frisbee. Their cinnamon chip bread was our favorite and I am not a huge cinnamon fan. I made the best French toast with that bread. Another favorite was the buffalo chicken bread. It may sound strange but it was such a treat to have that pop of flavor with chunks of chicken in everyday sourdough bread. Oh I almost forgot about their butter! They have a cinnamon sugar butter that went amazingly well on that French toast I mentioned. A really great service they provided is letting you try select breads of the day with their house made butter. Being able to try before you buy is so helpful. I wish I could drive the 6hrs to get this amazing bread or I wish they could ship! read more

They arrived the day after baking, in great shape and fresh fresh fresh. Couldn't wait until day after Thanksgiving and made a turkey sandwich right away. Yummmm 11/26/19. I love this restaurant because the food is always freshly made and when we walk into this establishment. It smells like a little bit of heaven. The pastries and cookies are fresh and warm right out of the oven. Not only do the serve sweets, but the also serve different types of breads, sandwiches. Depending on what your heart desires, you'll probably enjoy everything you try. One thing I'd like to see this restaurant do is have coupons and specials for surrounding neighborhoods within a twenty mile radius. read more

Delicious! Seriously. They are best for bread, obviously. However, they have a little sandwich shop within. It's a good sandwich because of the bread, though the fixin's ain't bad either. I personally love to go in because they are always sampling one of their breads! We had the butterscotch chip wheat last time. My fiance and I are not butterscotch fans but we ended up buying a loaf (which they will slice for you). They also make their own butters so we bought one of those too (vanilla honey butter, yum). Part of their store includes a little shop, mostly preserved and cutting boards, but I imagine it would be good for a foodie (like us). WARNING!!!! If you have a gluten or nut allergy I recommend you stay away. They do too! I didn't see any gluten free breads and most of their breads had nuts in them. They also warn that most of their food can and will come in contact with nuts (it's not the biggest kitchen after all). However, if you like bread, I have not found a better bakery (at least not in the Powder Springs area). Try the cinnamon chip!!!!! Hell, try them all!!!! read more

Owner was in, she was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. We had a couple of different scones and coffee cake to try them out. They were good. We bought a loaf of spinach feta to take home and that was pretty awesome. Also they sold Babylove 5lbs of flour. Something I realized after talking to the owner because she kept trumping up that they used Montana wheat which is special... I don't know about all that it , but they do have some hearty bread.
