I was already familiar with Paris Baguette ITP and had luckily won two vouchers for some free goodies while attending MatchaFest at Piedmont Park this year. While at MatchaFest I had one of their Matcha lemonades and a Matcha mochi donut and they were great. I figured it'd be a great time to stop in for a Matcha and a free pastry or two after running an errand in the Kennesaw area. Ironically their standard hot matcha was mind-numbingly sweet and simultaneously BAD. First strike was that the cup was not even filled all the way. Second strike was that it tasted exactly like cough syrup. The wild part is that I originally asked the barista if it could be made with as little sweetness as possible because I prefer to taste the actual green tea. She assured me that their base matcha was not sweet.... ummmm lies were definitely told that day. I had to pour some out and fill it with the 2% milk they have at the service station, but it was still insanely sweet! I know America loves her sugar but there's no way my sweetness gauge is this off?! I just wish cafes didn't cut corners on their matcha source or use pre-sweetened powders. Sweet =/= good!!! Yuck. I eventually threw this out. Luckily the free slice of cake and free pastry redeemed this visit. I had a hotdog and cheese pastry which ended up being pretty yummy and filling. I ate my chocolate ganache cake slice a day later and it held up well in a cute to-go box. Admittedly it was delicious at first but its richness made it almost unbearable near the end. I couldn't finish the icing. It was THICK like peanut butter... Way too overstimulating after a while. I was able to sit and enjoy the environment for a bit. It's a great place to get some work done. It's bright and airy and modern. You can see the bakers through a viewing window prepping some of the goods. Honestly I think sitting in the cafe was the best part of my visit somehow. I also appreciated that the cashier allowed me to redeem both vouchers at the same time as I live nowhere near this location. Customer service was good for me, although they could definitely use a better system to organize ordering and picking up. As others mentioned, it's a free-for-all. Luckily it was not too busy while I was there in the late-morning but I can definitely see this place becoming hectic. I'd recommend for the cake and pastries but skip the drinks (unless you're a sugar-addict). read more

I love how spacious this place is! It's beautifully decorated, and the Kennesaw mural really stands out. The whole place has such cute French vibes, which makes the experience even better. The pictures on yelp looked so good that I had to give this place a try. And we stopped by after a date night to pick up a sampler. We got the Pain Au Chocolat just because of reading so many books that mention it. And a Chausson aux Pommes (apple turnover), a Cream Cheese Pastry, and a slice of Ganache Cream Cake. The cake was the most disappointing as the ganache did not have much chocolate flavor despite its rich colors. The cream layers were good, but it was otherwise bland. The cream cheese pastry was the favorite for both of us, with the apple turnover being a close second. The chocolate in the Pain Au Chocolate was richly flavored and it definitely is meant to be paired with a Cafe Au Lait, and doesn't stand as well on its own (this is as intended, so I cannot fault it). Let us say " I've never had a donut that was as tough"! Truly, this was the toughest donut I've ever experienced. If it wasn't days old it had to have had gluten added to the dough. You know how tough a cold Carmel is.... Just taking a bite was challenging. The custard pastry was easier to eat but the custard must come from a box as it resembles the stuff I get at the grocery store... add one cup of milk and stir til thickened. Haven't had the fruit pastry yet but I'm now expecting something less than magnificent. I've been hearing and reading a lot of good words on the newly opened Paris Baguette bakery and cafe in Kennesaw Ga. Entering, I was impressed at the size of the store and the very large selection of gorgeous looking pastries and the seating was also plentiful. Getting back to that selection.... All look amazing As a good Yelper I feel you need to point out things that went well and some areas of improvement. The check out line could use some tweaking. Long slow and cumbersome, especially when you're holding that pastry you picked out and can't eat it. Lol. The raspberry filled Almond croissant was just amazing and words just can't describe that Strawberry Pistachio Bombolone, but I'll try. Lol. I'm sadly disappointed in my purchase. I got a green tea roll cake and it was dry and the flavor wasn't the greatest. I've had this before, years ago and from a different location, and it was delicious. I was excited to buy this for my grandma's birthday but ended up being disappointed that no one liked it, including myself. To spend nearly $25 on a small cake for it to be dry is unacceptable to me. I placed an online order for a two tier chocolate buttercream cake days before my pick up date. Ordering online and check out were easy. On the day I picked up the cake, there was a line at the register. I'm not sure if I could have skipped the line and just went to the pick up area, but I waited for 10 mins before I was even helped since there were two parties ahead of me. Once I got to the register, it took a few more minutes to get my cake out of the fridge and packed. They did offer candles and cake knife which was nice. I ordered a sandwich and a hot chai latte. I deliberately ate my sandwich slowly because I wanted to enjoy it with my drink, but my chai never arrived. While waiting, I repeatedly looked toward the counter to see whether my order was being prepared. From my seat, I had a clear view of the employees behind the counter. I observed them cleaning, restocking, and chatting with one another. At one point, a female employee looked at my order sticker, placed it back on the machine, and returned to other tasks. My order ticket was the only one there at the time. As I continued waiting, additional customers came in, placed orders, and received their food and drinks but I did not receive my chai. Eventually, I approached the cashier and told him I still had not received my drink. He responded, "The hot chai?" When I said yes, he replied, "We're working on it." I returned to my table, finished my sandwich, cleaned up my trash, and continued waiting. After more time passed and my drink still had not appeared, I approached the counter again. The same cashier once again asked, "The hot chai?" and then told me, "We're making it now." I stood there until they finally made my chai. It had been over 25 minutes by this time and several other patrons have come and gone. read more

I much prefer Paris to Sweet Hut, their pastries/cakes are more interesting and their drinks have a better flavor. They also have ongoing "limited time" items based on seasonality/current trends. I loved their limited time Dubai chocolate mochi donut! It is quite pricy. I am always surprised at how much I spend when I go, even for just one item. When the name was called, the order did not have this and they proceeded to ask if we wanted the whipped cream. On the app, excluding these toppings is an option, but it seemed that the workers were not aware of this. Like they thought we had to add these onto the actual order, which is an option but would cost extra. Why would I do that if the description already states these would be included and is even shown in the image they're advertising? This is not an isolated event; the employees have been doing this. They seem to always forget a part of the order or don't know what they're even selling. Maybe there's something wrong between the app and what is being received by the workers? The cakes look better than they taste- but once you've had Asian cake, you'll understand they're never that sweet and the cake is fluffy and light. Exterior - shares a parking lot with tons of other stores so parking and entering / exiting is a nightmare. Interior - Bright and well lit but most of it is self serve pastry. Be prepared to be jostled, bumped stepped in front of. I visited on a Sunday and no less than 4 children and 2 adults bumped into even though I'm pretty hard to miss. Lol. Price / Value Unsure. They seem pricey especially for prepackaged sandwiches. Customer service I was interested in the chicken salad sandwich or possibly the sourdough turkey melt. I was surprised that a cold sandwich is described as a 'melt' so I tried asking if there was a heated version, the cashier couldn't seem to understand what I was asking. When I asked the same cashier if I could sample the chicken salad, she chuckled and looked at her fellow cashier, then looked back at me and said 'We don't do that here. We don't give out samples.' It was the weird, condescending way she said it that made me feel unwelcome. I just said, 'thank you' and went back over to look at the other sandwich offerings. Keep in .mind, when I approached the counter, there was only one other customer (finishing up), but the cashiers and the rest of the folks behind the counter seemed much more interested laughing and joking with one another than helping customers. I'm all for people enjoying their jobs and having fun at work - but it shouldn't be at the sacrifice of good customer service. And in my lifetime, I've visited hundreds of cafes, sandwich shops, bakeries, restaurants, etc - it's really not that odd to provide a sample of something like tuna salad, chicken, salad, etc. Some folks even OFFER samples without prompting. There was a young woman replenishing the baked goods (short, Asian with long hair) and she was rude as well. She didn't bump into me, but she did bump into several others with no 'excuse me' and seemed very annoyed by all the customer 'getting in her way.' I get it, because I felt the same, lol - but it's not really the customer's fault that this set-up is like this and I'm not sure how they'd solve that issue other than putting up ropes to corral people off when staff needs to replenish - lol. Food They have a lot of 'pretty,' social-media photo worthy items, but I still don't understand the business model. There are lots of cashiers and there were at least 2 people running back and forth from the kitchen, re-stocking the pastries and baked goods. But they don't / won't heat pastries or 'melt' or heat any sandwiches. Overall I wouldn't go back - not because of the crowds - because I'm sure they're not always this slammed, I'd avoid simply because the staff was rude. New bakery spot in Kennesaw had to try it out. In the plaza with Tj Maxx and Marshall's next to Plasma center. Hours 6am -9pm everyday. Got there around 6:15 and not a lot of pastries and doughnuts were out. One the employees told us 7:00am everything should be out. Left came back at 7am and half the pastries were still slowly coming out. Got a few stuff and some coffee. Iced coffee was great! Lavazza coffee! Staff was friendly and one staff member went out of her way to make sure my wife got the doughnut she was waiting for. Her name was Shawna I believe. Went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! Kudos to her and the rest of the friendly staff! Place was clean and spotless! Just bummed that they open at 6am and hardly any product were out. Seems like you gotta wait til 8 to make sure everything is out.
