As much as I wanted to grab one of those, I decided to go sweet. They had a number of options and all looked good. You could basically pick the serving size you wanted from a whole pie down to the slice. I want with a slice of the Peach Crumble. What a slice! I was going to get it to go and then they asked if I wanted it heated. Once that was a yes, the pie was not making it out of the store uneaten. The pie was great...everything about it, except maybe that I only got one slice. We also grabbed a couple of iced coffees before we hit the road. Great place and great pie!

First of all.... Amazing customer service!…read more This place is absolutely adorable and the man that helped us was so nice! He answered all of questions and even upsold us on a rosemary chicken pot pie. SO glad he did! My husband had a slice of the almond joy pie and um.. I accidentally ate half of his when he left for work the next day. It was absolutely incredible and will definitely be on our must haves when guests come to town. I had the chocolate chess pie and it was so much better than I even imagined. It was as he described it; like a gooey brownie. I didn't share. Next time I'll try it heated as he suggested so that it's like a molten lava. So yes, there will be a lot of next times. I baked the chicken pot pie at home and it was 90 minutes of pure torture. The house smelled so good for the rest of the evening. First, let's start with that crust; it was like phyllo crescent pie crust? I don't know but it was fantastic. I mean, who eats all of the crust of a meat pie usually? The inside was packed full of vegetables, shredded chicken and an insanely flavorful gravy. We ordered the small one and split it which was more than enough and would've had leftovers if we didn't have dogs. I figured they earned it having to smell that cook for so long. Needless to say this is definitely going to be on our rotation of places to go. Thank you so much for a 5/5 experience! You are truly appreciated!

Oh my my!!! What a hidden gem I didn't know I was missing. Just wow!…read moreA friend tipped us off- he indicated that they were originally in the downtown area until an ice cream place opened near it and moved here to a very different space. I will talk about the gelato in a minute but I want to share how incredible the landscaping and attention to the space around the place. There were beautiful pots of flowers, play space, climbing vines, and welcoming outside seating. The stand itself is very small- a couple people can fit inside the door to order and receive their treat. There were 15-20 flavors to choose from AND, follow me here, that could be served in a cup, cone, or in a martini glass accompanied by alcohol found in the beverage. I ordered a scoop in a cup but the drink menu was extensive and tempting. Plenty of parking and a place to sit. Don't be stressed that it is off the beaten path- worth the travel to this wonderful spot.

Follow your maps because you will think you missed it but it is behind a decorator store and you could easily miss it. Walking around back to the entrance was a complete surprise! They own quite a bit of land and there are Adirondack chairs with fire pits to enjoy. There was also corn hole and a volleyball net. The plants and flowers are gorgeous! It's like you are in the streets of Italy! We were quickly greeted and told we could sample all the flavors. There were plenty to choose from. I decided on the Affogato with Kahlua. It was served in an insulated cardboard cup that was quite cute. This is a sipping drink and people usually drink it slow. It was delicious. There wasn't enough Kahlua in my drink, I could barely taste it but still enjoyed it! My friend got raspberry gelato with prosecco and thought it was delicious-and soooo pretty! This is gelato from Italy and tastes a bit like ice cream but I loved it!!

The Oreo Cake is another favorite, and the Blueberry Cheesecake Bars are absolutely worth grabbing. Then there are the cookies. The Italian cookies, almond cookies, and Black & white cookies are all delicious. I've tried enough from here at this point to know it's hard to go wrong. What I love is the variety. Whether you want a whole cake for a celebration, a few cookies, a pastry, or just something sweet to take home, there is always an abundance of choices. This is the kind of bakery where I fully intend to pick up one or two things and somehow leave with a box. If you love desserts, Alpine is absolutely worth the stop. The Coconut Cake alone keeps me coming back. I rarely eat here, but the grab and go service is top tier. It runs like a well-oiled machine. And, since the renovation it's much more open and airy feeling. Gives more of a modern feel that before.

Located slightly off the beaten path,…read moreRoberto's boasts a beautifully clean atmosphere that evokes a sense of being somewhere far more coastal. The raw bar is front and center, and there are several great options for oysters. There is a social hour option for chef's choice oysters, I believe it was a dozen for $24. I would've loved to indulge, but my friends were not so inclined towards raw oysters. We enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp and the blue crab fritters as appetizers. Both had phenomenal flavor, but the portions left a bit to be desired. For my main course, I tried the low country boil as I always love to see an elevated take on a messy classic. The spices were a bit underwhelming for my liking, but everything was cooked very well. I tried some of my friend's redfish, and it was clearly the star of the show. There was a wonderful textural balance between the soft pillowiness of the fish and the crispy exterior. The downside for me was the service. We had a difficult time tracking down our server, and when we alerted another member of the staff that we needed something, there was no attempt to resolve the issue expeditiously. We had to wait another 10 minutes before flagging down our original server. We were dining close to the lunch/dinner shift, so I'm willing to give them the grace that it was a fluke and not a habit. I would love to give Roberto's another try someday, the menu has a great variety, and the ambiance is hard to compete with.
