Celebrating a family friends birthday ages ago.
    Catherine B.

It all started with the Guinness cupcake. Not-too-rich, yeasty and chocolatey base - just as you'd expect from drinking the beer. Decadent and delightful cream cheese frosting. As smooth as the head of a perfectly poured Guinness. And to bring it all in, the slight drizzle of something reminiscent of caramel - but it's lighter and more exciting than that - and the strewn mini chocolate chips on top just bring it to perfection. That was my secret discovery nearly 12 years ago when Maime first opened her quaint shop on the Square. From then, I've schlepped half dozen and full dozen assortments alike to various birthdays, going away parties, sad times, happy times, you name it. Mamie's cupcakes have always been a source of comfort and familiarity for me. So much so, I even had a collection of mini cupcakes and pies arranged our dessert table at my wedding nearly five years ago. We moved out of state several years ago, so my visitation frequency diminished, but I do know that Mamie's cupcakes have been featured on various food channels and competitions. With good reason. Fast forward to now, we've moved back into town. Walkable to the shop, in fact, which is both terrifying to my waistline and exciting for my two year old daughter. Super glad this shop is still around. And once this COVID mess is over, I can't wait to book a cupcake decorating party for my daughter and her friends.

Cute little shop on the square. We stopped by around lunch on a Wednesday. The selection was really limited by the time we arrived, so not sure what days are best. We ended up getting 6 cupcakes to go. I got the cookie dough, cheesecake, and lemon raspberry. All were soft. The icing was flavorful on them all without being overwhelmingly sweet. My fav by far was the lemon raspberry. It was so flavorful with just the right amount of lemon flavor. The other two flavors were still yummy cupcakes, but other than the toppings, the cupcakes seemed to just be plain. Still nice, though. We stopped by a pet shop on the square after getting our cupcakes to go. The cashier told us she's vegan, and Miss Mamie's made her a great vegan birthday cake.

Stopped into this bakery while walking around the Marietta square. Overall the service and the food were amazing, the owner even gave me and my boyfriend complementary tea with our cupcakes. The atmosphere is super cozy and cute. I highly recommend this plan to anyone looking for a sweet treat at the square!

YALL. I just had their cookie dough cupcake and it was to die for!! Perfect taste. Perfect texture. Densely moistured. Balanced flavor. Aesthetically pleasing. Just yes. A cookie dough/cupcake mash up can easily be too much, but they got it just right! I will be back.

a hand holding a red velvet cupcake
    Kellay B.

We went to this shop bc we watched them on cupcake wars and assumed the cupcakes would be stellar. Got a red velvet cupcake. It was sticky on the outside and crumbly inside. The cream cheese frosting was like tangy, not sweet at all. It was $4.50 for a TINY cupcake. Just not that good. Especially for the price.

Pull apart cupcakes raspberry and half Reese's cup flavor

We previously had our wedding cake and mini cupcakes made at this business. Which were a hit back in 2018! I was so glad they were able to make the birthday cupcakes for my daughter's first birthday! I spoke with Lindsey and she provided her email address so I could detail what I wanted. I asked for a cupcake pull apart cake in the shape of the number 1 and they went above and beyond what I expected! Due to short staffing they were icing the cupcakes at the pickup time but it was fine with me. I loved that they were flavorful but not TOO sweet for the kids.

needed cupcakes for a bachelorette party stopped here because I saw them from the street, they were beautifully decorated. I bought a variety of flavors. However, I was very disappointed when we got to the venue and tasted the cupcakes. Every single one was dry for $54. I would expect moist cupcakes very disappointing. Maybe it was just a bad day!!! Right

Cute local shop in Marietta Square. Selection was limited at around 4p on a Wednesday before Christmas. But, I grabbed a Guinness cupcake and a s'mores cookie. Cupcake - Very tasty frosting but cake on the dry side; not sure where the Guinness plays in. Cookie - very creative but also kind of dry. Oh man! I will try again on a weekend I think. Maybe week day stock is not as fresh?

Lunchtime treat w my daughter. So fun and delicious. Now they have Raspberry Pomegranate tarts too. Can't wait to try this one. Such a great place to stop for desserts, tea and/or coffee. Oh yeah, they also have really good chocolate chip cookies and IF you're lucky you may catch them when their coming out of the oven. I love that they serve everything on mismatched chinaware because it makes me feel like I'm having a "totally chill" tea party in the middle of the day and that's just the way I roll, ya know? Lol. Is every flavor of my favorite?? well, of course not but there's bound to be a flavor that everybody likes behind the glass. Go to Mamie's if you haven't already! Seriously.

    Mario Kart cupcake cake
    Jen H.

I ordered a Mario Kart cupcake cake recently for my son's 5th birthday. I came in with only the idea that I wanted it to be some kind of track and I supplied some toys for the top. Miss Mamie's was able to transform just a few details into an amazing cake for my son. All of the kids thought it was the coolest cake ever! I think the customer service was great and the pricing was reasonable.

Wow....A Cupcake and Cake Wars winner that's in driving distance! Sweet spot to find the perfect sweet treat. They seem to have captured a loyal crew of customers. The cupcakes are tasty. The frosty isn't too heavy or sweet. They offer other treats beyond their cupcakes including cookies & more. The staff was friendly. Parking available on street or nearby parking lot. I look fotward to returning to use my coupon for "buy 4 classic cupcakes get 2 free!"

Miss Mamie's made bite size cheesecake and cupcakes for our wedding dessert table, they deliver them and arranged them for us. We wanted to leave a review because everything was delicious and beautiful!

Handmade flour tortilla folded into a large taco with scrambled eggs, avocado, Salvadoran sour cream, and refried beans. Simply delicious. As you walk in, there's a case of bakery-type items along the wall and butter-creme frosted cakes displayed under the order counter. I asked the man behind the counter if they have cooked food. They don't, but he offered me the alternative to what I had described, a torta. If you're as "American apple pie" as I am, looking around the shop, its easy to confuse a "torta" with a "tarte" or pastry. The "torta" here is a pressed sandwich, filled with meat that he called 'turkey ham' (he assured me that it was not pork), onions, tomato, cheese, avocado and jalapeños if you can handle 'em. While I waited for the young lady to make my torta, the gentleman offered me a choice of complimentary baked treat to try. Who here doesn't love a free sample!? Ok! He rattled off some of the names, but had me at cheesecake! I took them both to-go, mainly because, although there was a cooler full of cold drinks and soda, I couldn't find a hint/whiff of coffee in the place. I would've asked but I'd reach my personal 'question quota' with the sandwich. DELICIOUS, by the way! I like that the press left the bread crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and all the sandwich fixins were still crispy & cool-not soggy or melty. The cheesecake looks kinda like a lemon square, has a cookie-cake texture bottom crust and a 'cheese danish' type filling that's nicely browned on the top. The serving is big enough to split for now & later-which I had every intention of doing. But, I mean, who was I kidding?! It was YUMMY. This place is fairly new, so I hope it'll add hot drinks (if it doesn't already have them...) and a to-go menu with descriptions, so I can decide what I want to try, ahead of my next visit.

But cakes from this shop are crowd-favorites! Everyone at my wedding raved about the cake, even months later people still brought it up. I highly recommend this business.

Jordan recommended Lush Cakery to my fiancee and me (our planner does not accept kickbacks, but instead passes on any discounts she may get on to us) and that is enough praise for me. My fiancee, through her own research, noticed that Lush Cakery has had a hand in a lot of nice weddings in Atlanta. She absolutely loves the look of Lush's cakes (she describes them as beautiful, fun, and creative). I asked Kat how many weddings she did last year and she told me, if I recall correctly, 185 (all by herself!). She doesn't plan on doing that many per year going forward, but she definitely has the experience and is well known in the Atlanta wedding community. Kat moved into a cute space just off Marietta Square a couple years ago. There's a retail space, open four days a week, and a tasting room, available by appointment only. The shop can also be booked for small events like bridal and baby showers. Kat was waiting for us promptly at our appointment time. My fiancee and I were accompanied by our planner for the tasting. The tasting room was quaint and charming. It reminded my fiancee of an attractive sitting room, like something you would see on HGTV. We got to know Kat and she got to know us. She let us swipe through cake designs on her iPad while talking to us about our wedding, our tastes/visions for our cake, and how our cake would align with our wedding overall. For example, we talked about the season of our wedding, whether it's going to be indoor or outdoor, etc. These kinds of things can affect the ingredients and flavors of our wedding cake. There was a menu at the table with Lush's most popular wedding cake flavors. We tasted the following six flavors: * Salted caramel * Amaretto white chocolate red raspberry * Triple chocolate hazelnut * Grand Marnier strawberries and cream * Cinnamon * Cream cheese pound with lemon curd Kat had the first five flavors in the list above ready to go on a plate for each of us. The last one was requested by my fiancee who was interested in trying the lemon curd after seeing it on the menu. My eyes lit up as I bit into these cakes. What impressed me most about them was actually not their flavor, but their consistency. Every single slice was perfectly fluffy and moist. They were tender and delicate with good crumb. Flavor-wise, they were sweet, but not too sweet. My favorite flavors were the salted caramel and the strawberries and cream. My fiancee's favorite flavors were the amaretto white chocolate red raspberry and the triple chocolate hazelnut. My fiancee thought both the strawberry and cinnamon tasted delicious, but were a little too simple for her tastes. The cream cheese pound cake with lemon curd was outstanding, but we agreed that we liked the lighter, less dense textures of the other cakes for our wedding cake. Everything we tried tasted great, so what it really came down to here was personal preference. We want a classic, elegant looking cake so Kat suggested a traditional three-tier round cake. We'll have it decorated with flowers from our florist, Julie Coffin of Unique Floral Expressions, who is one of the rock stars of the Atlanta wedding industry and whom Kat has worked many weddings with. We chose our cake and icing flavors, along with a fun design extra, and were quoted under $700 for our cake (tax and delivery included). The cake will serve 100. We'll have more than 100 guests, but there will be other dessert options too. Kat's quote is about $200 higher than another quote we recently received, so Lush is on the higher side. However, the other quote did not include an extra design element and the Lush quote also includes a "complimentary" anniversary tier a year after our wedding. A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date. We received Kat's proposal via email quickly after our meeting. My fiancee had a question and it didn't take long for Kat to respond. All in all, this was a wonderful experience. Now we just have to make a decision! Throughout our wedding planning process so far, this has turned out to be the most difficult decision yet.
