Pretzels!
Aarti B.

Delicious fresh bread! It's a cozy shop with a nice selection of baked goods with plenty of loaves of bread, muffins, scones, sweet and savory bars, cheese sticks, cookies, etc. Love the daily rotating menu, there's always something new to try! Some of the pastries are fresher than others, be sure to ask the date the baked good was made. I've picked up muffins in the display case and they were very stale. The breads have a 2 day rule and made very other day. Tuscan Herb Focaccia (5/5) - Hands-down my favorite! The scrumptious fluffy bread is bursting with flavor from the herbs. The bread is surprisingly not oily and perfect to cut into slices or use it in a panini sandwich. I can easily devour 1/2 loaf in just 1 day! Sadly, it hasn't been on the menu for a few years, please bring it back! Apple Scrapple (5/5) - Perfect for my sweet tooth, great for breakfast or dessert! Reminds me of Aunty Annie's cinnamon sugar pretzel. The dense fluffy brioche like bread with chunks of apples, cinnamon sugar, and topped with brown sugar is divine. With melted butter, the apple scrapple is heavenly! Ciabatta Rolls (5/5) - The airy fluffy rolls are scrumptious, perfect with a little bit of butter or in a sandwich. While I was disappointed that the ciabatta loaves were sold out, the 4 pack of rolls didn't disappoint! Gives me a good reason to drive to Vienna on Tuesdays! High Fiber Bread (3/5) - Not my favorite, quite dense and underbaked. Butter made the bread taste better! After a couple of slices, I threw in the towel on the loaf. Cheese Stick (5/5) - The perfect long breadstick smothered in cheese, even better when warmed up! Savannah Peach & Blueberry Bar (5/5) - The brown sugar bar loaded with chunks of peaches and blueberries with shredded coconut was divine. All the ingredients blended well together. Perfect sweet treat, will pick it up with my focaccia loaf on Thursdays! Blueberry Streusel Bars (5/5) - They are very moist and flavorful, made fresh the day of. My family devoured the box of 3 streusel bars in a few days. Turtle Brownie (4/5) - The nutty chocolate brownie topped with chocolate chips, pecans, and walnuts was fun to try, but not particularly memorable. It was a bit stale at the end of the night. Apple Cinnamon Muffin (4/5) - The brown sugar and apple cinnamon blend well together, the muffin was a bit stale in the evening. Pumpkin Muffin (1/5) - While the muffin looked promising in the display case, it was very dry and stale. Chocolate Chip Blondie (3/5) - Not my favorite, I really wanted to love the goey bar. There was an overload of butterscotch, walnuts and hodgepodge of ingredients. There was too much going on to enjoy the bar. Looking forward to coming back for some more scrumptious loaves and baked goodies!

Excellent! Parking is available at a nearby lot. It smells so good in here. There are plenty of items to choose from. Employees are the best. They are so welcoming, kind, patient, and helpful. Their baked goods are delicious. Super fresh and well made. They are generous with the portions and the price is right. We were in and out in no time. So glad we were in the area and got a chance to pick up a few items.

Sunburst crunch bread compliments steak very well

Do you love bread? I mean really the only people who don't love bread are the ones who have a problem with gluten. Anyway, my husband and I came in to find a good bread to go with our dinner for the evening. We spoke with one of the employees and he led us to the sampling table. We tried honey whole wheat and two other breads. I have to mention the samples they give out are basically whole bread slices. So be prepared for that. Anyway, we left with the sunflower crunch and one cheese stick. My husband was concerned with having too much bread for just the two of us to eat. I reminded him that we can freeze the excess bread. You do need to know that they bake certain breads within season and breads do sell out. I also learned that they provided the nutritional value online and it's baked with all wholesomely good items.

They also use high fructose corn syrup in their bread (at least at this location). Wah.

Great bread. The best part is that they don't add too many ingredients to their products. Non nom nom nom nom.

I've heard of this place and when in the area recently, I bought many Pastys to bring home and…read moreenjoy later on. The place is really just carry-out, they have fresh made, hot pastys to go, which they can sell, as well as frozen pastys to bring home. They also have a large selection of snacks directly from England. Service was helpful, the guy working the counter was descriptive and helped me with how the various pastys were made. Also, when walking in the amazing smells of all the workers in the back making food smelled incredible! I opted for some of nearly all their offerings of pastys. A couple of days later I made the chicken masala for lunch. I used their directions for baking, not the microwaving to get it ready to eat. They were spot on and the pasty came our perfectly warmed up and ready to eat. The crust was outstanding! None of it was dry or tastless, the whole thing was flaky, perfect, buttery, and tasty! The filling was very nice, though it had no flavors that resembled Indian or "masala" to me, so I'm not sure what they consider masala, but that's not a bad thing as the filling tasted great! I'm looking forward to making and eating all the rest, I'm sure they'll be great too!

I love British food. With that said, I was super underwhelmed by their pasties. I ordered the beef,…read morechicken masala, lamb, chicken cordon bleu and sausage rolls. Beef: normally this would be my favorite back in the day but here... Absolutely no flavor. Quite surprised but I would not order again. Chicken Masala: decent flavor, probably my favorite out of all the oasties I got here. Moroccan lamb: decent flavor also. Chicken cordon bleu: not sure If I got a bad one but yea, hard pass. Sausage rolls: decent flavor. Price point is ok as the oasties were quite filled. It's just that a lot of them just didn't have that taste that I gotta come back for more taste. It was just.... Eh.

FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5…read more EXPERIENCE: 4/5 Hubby really loves the original Fairfax location since he used to work near it. Once we saw that there was another one, we got excited. We decided to go to get a little snack and coffee to start the day before some errands. I got a vanilla latte, while he got a mocha latte. Both iced. I got almond milk and hubby got oat milk. I enjoyed the blend of coffee and flavor - not either one overpowering each other. I personally like a little more syrup but it wasn't undrinkable. The almond milk was a teeny bit woody. I'll get oat milk next time. The cashier helped us decided on what pastries to get (there wasn't any signage). I ended up getting a strawberry croissant that was so pretty - it even had some gold glitter on top! Perfect for cherry blossom season. It was flaky and not too sweet. Hubby got a cinnamon roll and they warmed it up for it so it was nice and gooey. It was a cute urban feeling cafe with great AC and comfy seating. Parking was a little small but that's to be expected in the area. We'd return if in the Vienna area.
