My family has ordered an ube cake for my birthday for the past 6 years…read more And each year, I am dumbfounded by how DELICIOUS it is. Light, moist, not overly sweet...I am not exaggerating when I say I could finish the whole cake by myself in 3 days. It's just that good. And the staff always take great care to include the message requested by family. If you love ube, I highly suggest you consider ordering the ube cake from Bakeshop!

I enjoy the McLovin breakfast sandwiches and wash it down with a New Orleans Style coffee. And then will get a slice of PB Nutella pie to take home and eat later. I told the staff our drinks and desserts were for here, but they served the cakes in separate boxes, which felt wasteful. Since it was busy, we expected this and were happy to bring our own plates and silverware. However, when I asked a staff member for tissues because the tissue tin was empty, she pointed me to it without checking. It was refilled later. The place made a lovely first impression, with fall decorations and a fireplace, though there were crumbs on the floor and the tables were a bit messy. We tried to focus on enjoying our desserts, which were certainly a highlight. Overall, the desserts are high quality, and a little more attention to service and cleanliness would make the experience even better.

Elegant European cafe vibes! Come for the coffee and pastries…read more I recently had brunch here and the restaurant is beautiful and spacious, including a really nice outdoor patio. I had the breakfast croissant, which was yummy although the honey dijon mayo didn't add much except making it drippy, shrimp bowl, which was good on paper and in taste although the veggies were laden with butter, hummus and lavash (excellent), and dulce de leche pancakes (excellent). I like how eclectic the menu is with entrees ranging from omelettes to veggie/rice bowls. I think the standout items though are the croissants/pastries and the coffee. The service, while nice, was quite slow. Overall had a good experience.

My absolute favorite though is the black sesame latte, it's packed with toasty sesame flavor without being grainy at all. This location in Falls Church will validate your parking, and their service is very quick which helps a lot! I do wish they offered their drinks with a larger variety of sweetness though. Currently their only options are 100%, 50%, and 0%, but even 50% for some of their drinks can be a little too sweet.

I will submit pictures when i get them back but let me tell you Lauren gave me exactly what I wanted without us having to go around the world over and over about the design. The cake fed everyone and there was still left overs for my best friend to take home. I had a little bit of anxiety going with a smaller baker but Lauren eased my fears, everytime i reached out with a question or clarification she quickly responded and made me feel better. I was even able to get the cake delivered and Lauren was right on time actually a bit early which was perfect. I truly wanted to say thank you for your service and the cake which we all loved. Cheers to the next time.

The sandwich was solid, the latte was fine, and overall the wait time was better than I expected for how busy it was. My order also came with a fruit cup, which I didn't order, but I thought that was a nice little surprise at first. Unfortunately, once I looked closer, some of the fruit was moldy. That was pretty disappointing and definitely not something I expected, especially from a place that otherwise seemed to be running efficiently. I wanted to like this visit more because the service was quick and the place clearly has a following, but moldy fruit is hard to overlook. For that reason, this was a 2-star experience for me.
