    Iced latte

We ordered a: 1. Bacon egg & cheese on an everything bagel, 2. Cinnamon raisin bagel w/ honey maple cream cheese, 3. Iced latte, and 4. Chai ! The BEC is a classic - can't go wrong w/ it! The everything bagel was good too, except maybe a little dry. The cinnamon raisin bagel + honey maple though? Fabulous combination! The iced latte was good (strong coffee flavor). The chai could've been better though (they unfortunately teabagged us). Fast service (walk in, walk out, but also space to sit). Highly recommend checking out this McLean classic!

Walking into this bagel deli is like walking into 1995 and I love it. It's one of the few bagel places in the DMV that has rye seeded bagels and half plain/half pumpernickel bagels. Honestly, these aren't my favorite bagels in the area but the sandwich fixings they put on them are what makes this a great place. Their bagels are more dense like a Montreal bagel so that is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. I am a fan of the eggwich sandwiches because the eggs are super fluffy and all of the ingredients are fresh. They are generous with the portions sizes so it's a very filling breakfast or lunch. Cream cheeses: they have a nice assortment of sweet and savory cream cheeses . Also, I like that they don't offer too many sweet bagel flavors. I'm a bagel classicist- plain, sesame, everything, rye, pumpernickel, cinnamon raisin and egg are my bagel pantheon. Other menu items: they offer focaccia sandwiches, deli sandwiches and baked pastries which all look good from what I observed from others orders. Ambiance: it's not a big place with lots of small banquettes and 4 top tables. It feels very retro 90s with the green and white floor and flat tambour. No one is hanging out with a laptop here which is nice. Most people get their brown bag order and immediately sit at a table to tuck in. The line can get long at busy times but it's worth it. Great place when you want to just have a yummy sandwich and think of simpler times.

Chesapeake will always have a spot in my heart as someone from McLean. It's an iconic spot and has been for my entire life. The bagels are always well made, but the prices have really increased in the past few years. It's really hard to get a bagel that has anything more than cream cheese on it for less than 7 dollars. Still a vibe and a nice spot though

Here's a review from a self-proclaimed bagel snob (have the Long Island background to back this up): The bagel itself was decently sized which I appreciate. There was a lot of egg which was good. Bacon was crispy and nice. Sadly the bagel lacked anything special. It was all just decent and plain. I will continue my search for a decent bagel in the DMV. So far it's been nothing but strike outs on this endeavor. Nevertheless I will persist.

I finally found a an amazing bagel shop in McLean, Virginia!!! The staff are always very hard-working and pleasant when taking orders. There are so many different fresh bagels to choose from every day. Come check out Chesapeake bagel bakery and Mclean. You will not be disappointed; this place is an awesome find!

This place knows how to do bagels right. They toast it to perfection and have so many options to choose from. I love the sausage, egg and onion on the garlic bagel. The amount of baked goods is insane, one of every flavor you can think of. The cashier and food preparers are also super kind. I really like this place and wish it was closer to me!

I stopped by about an hour before closing, which may have impacted my experience. By that time, a lot of the bagels were already sold out. That said, the menu was very extensive with tons of bagel sandwich options and other items. There's also some indoor seating, and they sell a variety of snacks, drinks, and bottled waters--almost like a small convenience store. This definitely seems like a great spot for a quick breakfast on the go. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. One suggestion I'd make is to invest in paper menus or QR code menus--the menu was a bit hard to read, especially with so many options. I ordered three onion bagels to go, along with a container of plain cream cheese and a smaller chive cream cheese. Unfortunately, the bagels were disappointing. They were pretty hard and didn't have much onion flavor at all. On the bright side, the cream cheese was amazing--both the plain and chive were super creamy and flavorful, easily the highlight of my visit. I'd be willing to give this place another try, but probably closer to opening hours in hopes of getting fresher bagels. I can see why people like it, and I think timing really matters here.

The interior has its signature pastel pink, yellow and blue colors, with a few tables for seating. I ordered immediately upon arrival and waited about 5-10 minutes for my order. THE ROYAL PALM - 12 The salmon lox is my go-to bagel order, and this is their version of it. Instead of an everything bagel, I swapped it with a cheddar bagel. Unfortunately, the bagel was a bit stale and hard to chew, which was disappointing. On the bright side, there was a good amount of smoked salmon. The onions weren't very pungent but added a nice crisp texture. I requested light cream cheese, but it wasn't spread evenly -- a lot of it was just stuck in the hole of the bagel. All in all, I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the bagel today. If I return, I really should encourage myself to try a different bagel other than the salmon lox to see what's out there. They also have a few melts on the menu that looked interesting.

Since we were back in the area for a DMV for a brief visit we knew exactly where we were stopping before heading to the airport. Hubs ordered his usual sausage, egg and cheese sandwich , and I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich along with an iced mocha. I had completely forgotten they have a Starbucks on-site with a limited menu. Of course, I couldn't leave without grabbing a cookie and a chocolate croissant for later. The food arrived fresh, hot, and exactly as expected. The staff is always friendly and personable. You see professionals, students and the locals coming in and out, but there is seating available. Conversations are at a minimum and despite the attached restaurant you can still hear yourself and the other person without yelling. One thing I appreciate about Best Buns is the consistency. Whether it's been months or years between visits, the quality never seems to change. The sandwiches are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and nothing feels like it was sitting around waiting to be reheated. Everything is prepared to order, and you can taste the difference. My sandwich disappeared one bite at a time, and Hubs completely demolished his croissant sandwich without hesitation. That's usually all the confirmation I need. Some restaurants are good. Some are memorable, but there are the places that become part of your routine whenever you're back in town. Best Buns has earned that status for us. Five stars earned! Consistently fresh. Consistently delicious. We'll be dropping in on another turn and burn later this month...

Let this review be a reminder to Call Your Mother!…read more Call Your Mother started as a neighborhood bagel shop in DC in 2018 and has expanded to several locations, including this Old Town spot and I hear that one will be opening in Wicker Park, my Chicago peeps (if it hasn't opened already). My go-to of a toasted sesame bagel was just perfect, along with the garlic-herb cream cheese. My friend had a gleneagle bagel with candied salmon cream cheese and enjoyed it -- but it was stuffed and overflowing and a little hard to eat. This place is just so charmingly decorated, with friendly people, and nice portions of good deli food. It was also quite crowded (and we went early). So I decided to search for another bakery that had bagels, and that's how I came across Call Your Mother Deli/Bakery. First things first...parking in Old Town is parking in Old Town. It's going to be limited, especially on a weekend, so don't expect to pull right up. I had to circle around for a bit, but the spot I eventually found was only about a two-minute walk, so it really wasn't bad. When I walked in, the place was bright, colorful, and really cute. It has a bit of a loft-style feel and the space was very clean and well put together. The staff was friendly, though not overly talkative, but everything moved pretty smoothly. They had a good variety of options.Breakfast sandwiches, regular deli-style sandwiches, bagels, and juices. I decided on a turkey bagel sandwich on an everything bagel with a juice. Now here's my biggest con: the pricing. The sandwich alone was $15.99, and the juice was $4.99. On top of that, there's the regular sales tax plus the Alexandria dining tax, so the total climbs pretty quickly. After tip, I paid well over $24 for a bagel sandwich and a juice. For me personally, that's pretty steep for what is essentially a bagel with toppings. That said, the food itself was very good. The bagel was fresh, chewy, and flavorful, exactly what you want from a good bagel. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the sandwich was satisfying. My only small tweak would be that I wish I had asked for a little more mayo, but that's more of a personal preference. Overall, the quality of the bagel is definitely there, and the sandwich was delicious. However, the pricing would probably keep me from coming back regularly. At that price point, it doesn't even feel like an occasional treat. It's just hard to justify paying that much for a bagel sandwich. If price isn't a concern, the food is solid. But for me, the cost is the main thing that would make me think twice about returning.
