I go to the local Great Harvest with a group of guys for coffee, pastry, and conversation each week. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The biscuits and other pastries are also very good. HOWEVER - I have had to stop drinking their coffee and switch to tea. Don't get me wrong, I love strong dark roast coffee. We drink Peet's French Roast at home. BUT - GHB's coffee is bitter and sour. I wonder if they clean the brewing pots regularly? And we are always the first customers of the morning. Please rethink it, GHB. read more

Had the bacon breakfast sandwich and cinnamon roll. Wonderful flaky biscuit, delicious and buttery. I would come back again and again just for the biscuit. The bacon was thick and the cheese was complimentary. The cinnamon roll was perfectly baked, the raisins were not my favorite but the cream cheese frosting was perfect. It was not too sweet, sometimes frosting like that can make your teeth hurt and this was not like that. The ambiance was nice, it was very mellow on a Friday morning. The lady at the counter was nice, she seemed to get a little frustrated with us since we took a minute to decide. There were 5 of us and it was our first time visiting. Outstanding breakfast spot. Two locals took me here this morning and said it is the most consistent place in town. I believe it. Staff members were prompt, attentive accurate. Place has plenty of seating, and lots of parking at the rear. Very comfortable with no rush. Food was solid and well prepared. There were many items outside of the traditional favorite of eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. Oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, limited but very good pastry selections (I recommend the cinnamon roll). My Big Butte breakfast ranks in the middle of what I have tried on this trip. The sourdough toast was excellent as was the thick sliced bacon but the scrambled eggs were overdone and dry while the hash browns were a bit stringy. Overall it is a very good stop and I will visit again upon returning to Butte. read more

Treated awfully by the "lady" at the front counter. Our order was called in 45 minutes earlier but not even began preparing it because they "shut down the portal" as it was explained to us because they didn't want to get too busy. People (about 25) came in and ordered, received their food and left before our order was prepared. The food was good and the order was filled. So they did that part of their job. But I couldn't believe the attitude and the lack of concern to take care of their customers. Rude and impolite to say the least. During the 50 minutes we stood their to make 15 sandwiches I observed a man putting rolls in breads in bags. He was not wearing a hair net or a beard net and was doing all of this in a tank top. This site alone and the amazing attitudes for people that brought them hundreds of dollars worth of business tells me I will never come back to that store again. My son's cinnamon rolls had been baked the day or even days before. They were rock hard, and tough as hell. I found a large piece of butter wrapper in the frosting. The biscuits were from the day before and hard. No seasoning on anything. The bread we bought was like eating a hockey puck. Dense, flavorless, and super tough. I threw almost two full loaves away. My best friend and I are on a week long road trip from Texas to Washington State. He is a farmer and professional chef. So his standards are pretty high when it comes to food. I decided to Yelp a nice spot for breakfast as we were coming from Bozeman. I found Great Harvest and knew this was the spot we needed to stop at! We pulled up and parked in the back. We came in through the back entrance. If you are looking for something super fancy and such this is not for you. The space is a bakery. They aren't meant to be pretty. But they make up for it with the food. The decor is quaint and makes you feel like home. I'd take a hole in the wall spot with amazing food over a fully decked out space with mediocre meals. The staff was friendly and helpful. We chatted with them for awhile and they had amazing suggestions. We went with them all. The food was great. I had the ham and cheese omelette. My friend had the Big Butte Breakfast. One thing we both agreed on is that we wish the potatoes were a little more cooked and crispy. Besides that it was awesome. The breads are epic. He had a coffee and I had a tea. The tea is a very strong brewed black tea. Brent said the coffee was great. We decided to buy some cookies, brownies and cinnamon rolls to take back home. Looked for a place to get sandwiches to go for our trip home to Washington. Great Harvest Bread was easy access off the freeway in Butte. Parking was easy too. Walked into the place and it smelled heavenly. The menu had several yummy choices. My husband had already decided on the Rueben sandwich. I chose the California Cobb sandwich on sourdough bread. Both were really good. My husband stated the rye bread was mild, could have been more robust. My sandwich was really good but the bleu cheese dressing was mild. We each got a homemade cookie too for our lunch. The service was quick and friendly. By the way people were eating breakfast there while we waited. It looked and smelled delicious. I had a superstar club sandwich on sourdough. My wife got a fantastic French dip. I tried some of her's and I couldn't tell you which I enjoyed more. They were both great. If you like the caramel, well they have a beautiful sticky caramel almond cinnamon roll. I went early and mine was fresh out of the oven and warm. First off, you step into a great smelling restaurant and bakery with fresh baked goods permeating the air. Not a bad way to start your morning. We just had the Big Butte breakfast which was on point. The bacon was some of the best I have ever had and the homemade bread was the perfect touch along side two eggs over easy and hash browns. This is by far the best Great Harvest I have eaten at! They have a great menu, the soup is wonderful, I loved the atmosphere. I spent a pleasant rainy afternoon here with my sandwich, bowl of soup and a book watching the traffic on Harrison. I have only gone there for breakfast, and usually get the Big Butte Breakfast. Tasty, fresh, lots of food, and a reasonable price. Love being able to chose which fresh baked bread to have as toast.
