Holy breakfast burrito, yum! I hear from locals that you can't get anything bad here. So far thanks to others, I've been blessed with donuts and a breakfast burrito - it's apparently really good to freeze so buy multiple, put them in the freezer, and then have them for when you're not in town and really want one! I ate this one cold - it was so delicious!!! (thanks Faye! btw Faye is the owner of The Marcus Daly Motel-stay there if you're needing a place to stay, the best hospitality ever)! I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth who helps run 406 too, such a lovely human. I'm looking forward to trying more things here. Only problem is they aren't open late enough for me to get there on the weekdays, lucky for me the locals made sure I got a taste of 406 and I'm excited for whatever is next on my plate! Update 3/12/22: Went back got another burrito, tried a blarney stone =vanilla cake, vanilla glaze and crushed peanuts, and got a huckleberry coconut macaroon! While there, I was blessed with trying their new sourdough bread and I don't usually like sourdough but theirs is delicious! Perfectly crispy crust and soft ,but not chewy, inside...it has walnuts in it too and they give it a pretty purple marble look! Oh... And I overheard people (who were getting donuts on donut day) offered free coffee apparently they do that too! read more

Then chased it with a No Bake Marion-berry cheesecake, which was surprisingly light and the perfect amount of sweetness. Maybe this is the best food there is in Anaconda. Five stars for service, but only a couple for the food. A great shop for breakfast or lunch, but also for picking up any baked goods for later. I've been a few times as it's within walking distance from work and I have never been disappointed. It's made to order sandwiches and homemade soup are always delicious and I can never resist grabbing a baked good for later. Everything is made out in the open, so you can see everything going into your meal, which is so great when you're trying to avoid overprocessed food. They've got some great gluten free options as well and are careful to avoid any cross contamination which is really helpful, especially when a lot of people/places say gluten free they're not super careful about that cross-contamination issue. They open early so it's a great breakfast or brunch spot as well. Anyone that has been around town knows this location : The Montana Hotel. It's a great old building with a lot of character and they've done an amazing job remodeling the interior to use the space in a way that really compliments the building. I love the mismatched tables and chairs scattered throughout the dining area, makes it feel cozy and unique. It's somewhere I love going for lunch during work but also bringing friends and family from out of town. I love the whole vibe of this place and the staff/owners are really great. They're very personable when you're in and remember your name so it makes it an amazing experience all around. read more

We're visiting from Seattle and I stopped by 406 Bistro to pick out some donuts. But when I got to the door, there was a sign saying they're only doing curbside/pickup orders, and they're not allowing people in due to covid. It was 10 minutes before their closing time, and I thought I may be a bit late to read the menu posted on their window and call in an order. I started to leave when a gentleman popped his head out and asked if I have any questions. SO glad he did. I left with half a dozen donuts (apparently donuts are on Fridays and Saturdays only for now, and you can pick 1/2 dozen or a dozen. I happened to show up on a Friday, phew!). I was a little unsure if I'd like them, because they pick 6 at random and bring the box out, and I'm not the type of person who likes "chef's choice" - I like picking my own food haha. But every single flavor was SO GOOD. My husband and I usually split all flavors, which we did over a couple days. These are exactly the type of donuts I love, and can never find them in Seattle. Light, fluffy, perfect flavors, and I didn't get a horrible sugar crash afterwards somehow. The donuts by us are dense and leave me feeling a little sick. The first donut I'd tried was a maple chocolate I believe, and it was so delicious that I accidentally ate through some of my husband's half. Seriously addictive. His comment was "these are some of the best donuts I've ever had. And I've had a lot of donuts." Anyway, that's a long enough review about donuts. Oh, I'd added a huckleberry lemonade to my order too, and it was great as well. The woman that brought out my order was so nice. The only bad thing about the bistro is that we can't get more donuts before we leave on Thursday (very sad about that), and they're closed Sunday-Tuesday for now haha. Sooo I'm patiently waiting to go back and try some of their sandwiches or pastries on Wednesday, or Thursday before we drive back to Seattle :) Summary: Call in your order! Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. The make your own sandwich and salad menus were a little intimidating, so I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger, which they were out of, but the huckleberry beef brisket was a way better choice (and their recommendation). Great spot for breakfast in Anaconda. Beautiful old building, very clean and open inside. We ordered a breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy. They were made right there in front of us, the chef took our order and made our food. Drip coffee was free, and delicious. This locally owned and operated bistro makes wonderful homemade soups daily, delicious donuts, and a wide variety of breads. Sandwiches and salads are custom built based on the creative clipboard you get to fill out with a highlighter. The inside decor is kitchie and fun or you can sit out on the patio. The coffee cabin next door is part of the same establishment so you can order you soup and a fancy coffee at the inside counter and they will radio your coffee order to the cabin.
