For years, before Brittany, I would ask for crazy colors or several different colors of blond highlights and stylists would just do what they wanted to do or or what seemed to be easier rather than executing the style I wanted. I felt no one was actually listening to me and I have a great eye for unique style so they should listen to me ;). When I finally found Brittany I was so delighted because she actually listens to what I want done to my hair. And the results have been beautiful. She listens and also gives sound advice. For example, one time I wanted to go platinum blonde with my long long hair and she advised against it and told me how risky it was to my hair's health to go that light in one treatment. She was unable to execute either of the hairstyles I wanted…read morefor my wedding, leaving me without a hairstylist with less than 30 days to go until the big day. I originally booked with Rachel in March and placed a deposit in person at Salon 501, where she recommended coming in closer to the wedding date for trials. I had two trials for both looks, but neither was done neatly. I reached out to Rachel to express that I was still unhappy with the trials and wanted to try again. She responded by saying, "Also, please be aware that even if you were to absolutely love your hair at the next trial appointment, it will not be the exact same on the wedding day." Then she mentioned that she didn't feel she was the best stylist for my wedding. She did not show me her portfolio or recommend any styles that she specializes in. A neighbor had recommended the owner at Salon 501, but she was unavailable and suggested Rachel instead. Rachel's lack of confidence in her abilities did not make me feel confident about continuing to work with her. I have attached examples of the styles I want compared to what I received!

The stylist disregarded what I said I wanted and did what she wanted to do. I went in hoping for just a trim and some layers and I left with my hair completely chopped off. My hair was past my shoulders and I now have an inverted Bob. Not at all what she and I had discussed. I have been going to great clips my entire life but I will not step foot in there again and I will never recommend anyone to go there. Your job as the stylist is to do your best to give the client what they desire. NOT butcher their hair. It will be months before my hair grows back.
