I have been a customer at this Great Clips location for years, coming in twice a month. Recently, I stopped by for a haircut before an important interview, but unfortunately, the result was disappointing. By the time I noticed the issues, it was too late to correct them. I believe the stylist's name was Monica. I tried to provide some input during the cut, but she seemed to have an attitude, which made the experience uncomfortable. Reasonably, we are all human--mistakes happen, which is fine--but it's the attitude and how the situation is handled that makes the difference. It's frustrating after years of good service, but I suppose "It is what it IS" Time to move on. read more

Staff is nice and welcoming but, I was not happy the last two times I came in. My bangs were one thing. But I was given a very choppy trim. Stylist read this off "notes", well no one at any other great clips chopped up my hair this way. :( I'll stick to the location i typically go to. read more

Kylie was our hairdresser and she was fantastic with my girls (ages 7 and 4). She communicated great and the girls loved her. It was my 4 year old's first haircut and we kept a lock of hair. Kylie grabbed me an envelope for a first haircut, which was the cutest. She let my oldest play with her mini squishmallow on her desk as well. I went in for a haircut in the morning. I was happy to see that there was no one waiting so they took me in right away. I am in a wheelchair so the hair stylist was able to move her chair to the side so that I can pull my wheelchair Into her station. When she moved her chair. Noticed all of this black hair that must've been underneath the chair. I asked her if she wanted to sweep that up and her answer was no. That she would sweep it up after I was done.. Keep in mind there was no one else in the store but her and I believe three other hairstylist which we're just sitting around chatting for me to ask her to sweep the floor before I rolled into a station and she said no was totally unacceptable. In my opinion. It was pretty disgusting actually so I ended up having to wear my wheelchair over that black hair, which seemed like it was there forever. That was extremely laziness and poor customer service. I did not expect her to say no when I asked her to sweep the floor. read more

Very pleased and happy with the cut Monica gave my son. The evening before I had requested an undercut for my son and the stylist that did his hair made a few mistakes. I called and came in the next day. Monica happily corrected them and my son and I ended up leaving 100 times happier with the way his hair was cut/styled and looks now then it looked and would've looked if he had gotten the undercut. I highly recommend her she is amazing!!! My son has ADHD and she was very patient with him. I definitely recommend her! read more

I have been a customer of Great Clips for over a decade. I almost always tip $5 for a normal haircut, because I am disabled and I appreciate the care the stylists take when cutting my hair. I just tried to get a haircut at the location at 4120 Dale Rd Modesto, Ca. I could not check in via the app, which said there were walk in's only. At 5:32 PM I tried to walk in, and I was asked if I checked in online ? When I said no, I was informed they were booked until closing, and they were not accepting walk ins. And, I was informed the closing time had changed from 7 PM to 6 PM. Needless to say, I am not happy with this customer service. Why have an app, if I can't check in...... then find out they are now closing earlier and also not taking anymore walk-ins ?!?! If the app can deny checking in, it should also show they are booked until closing. I drove 15 minutes to get to this certain location. As I am typing this, I watch other customers go in, with some leaving, but just as many are staying. So, either some are still able to check in, or I was turned away for some unknown reason. Very frustrating. Looks like I will be finding a new place to get haircuts. read more

There's no place I'd rather go to get my mane in check, seriously! I used to have very little love for Great Clips for several reasons but one of the most blaring was the equipment available to them. At least this location only used what they called a peanut for buzz cuts and or larger area electric razor cuts. I could never understand why they couldn't plunk down for an Oster or some other well-known e-razor but that's all changed. Now they're exactly like any other chain in the area with exception of customer service and haircutting know-how. I try to get in every two weeks because if I let it go longer I look like a toupee-wearing creeper! Now I know why people would mosey over to the opposite sidewalk I'm walking on but I digress. The ladies here are so nice and very accommodating. Makes for a very pleasant experience each and every time. GC is always OK by me! read more

Best Great Clips in Modesto, hands down. They have the best, friendliest, cutest, most talented bunch of girls working at this location. They're the reason I've been coming here since they opened (10+years). ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT THOUGH: It's HOT, the owner needs to add a more robust air conditioner, the sun beats directly through the front of the business all day long and the flimsy window shades do very little to cool the place down. Not to mention that it's not even summer yet!!! I don't know how much longer I can tolerate getting my haircut in a sweatbox. :( That being said, the staff makes it worth it. I have tried many different hair care establishment and I have received many great haircuts from this particular establishment, however I have also received many disappointing and even terrible haircuts. For example, just last week I went to get my hair cut; having left the shop, getting home, and looking in the mirror, I noticed that there was a large space cut from my hair above my ear, while the other side was normal. I went back the next day to have it fixed, having the stylist give me a fade on the sides in order to remedy the mistake of the other stylist. They finished, I went back to work, and then when I got home, I noticed that the fade was off, one side being lower than the other side and crooked. It wasn't completely noticable, unless you compared the two sides, but... (Insert large disappointing sigh.) read more

I had a coupon from the 'net that Taylor said was valid last night but when I went in today a very snotty lady with clips in her nose and tons of tattoos on her told me it wasn't valid, then, with a sneer, said she would honor it 'one time.' Done with GC, this particular store near O'Briens, has gone from bad to worse when it comes to customer service. My last haircut there was rushed and not great as before with Lauren. I've been coming to get my haircut here for years now and though staff has changed throughout the years, they still remain great at what they do! Being able to check in online has also been something that they added to make it super convenient. Long lines are typically a good sign for me because it shows they obviously have consistent clientele. And not everybody has the time to wait in a long line with busy schedules so it's pretty convenient I think. Price wise it's not too bad either $15 for a cut compared to some places where it's double or triple that lol! read more

I decided to come here and get a haircut since they didnt have any appointments at my normal place and i walk in and the lady asks me "have you been to Great Clips before?" And i tell her no, this is my first time here....i ask how much for a haircut and she tells me $13 so i sit down and she wasnt very talkitive and at the end of the haircut she says "ok, im done" and i ask if she can dry & straighten my hair (like the place i go to just normally does it for me no extra charge!) And we get up and go to the counter she says "Ok, it's $55" and i say "what for?" She says to straighten your hair and i told her well since i told you that i havent been here before i would have thought you would have advised me instead it was a big SHOCKER!!!!
