Great Clips is a national chain haircut salon. They provide efficient, consistent service at reasonable prices with clean and safe facilities. I have been going to Great Clips for years, both locally in Arizona and also in Tennessee for several years. The locations are extensive and cover nearly every mile in my local area. There is a good chance there is one near you regardless of your location. I have found the staff at nearly all locations are well trained, kind and helpful. The pricing on most of their standard cut services is the lowest in the industry. This isn't the sheek, custom service you may get at local or boutique shops, but it is good and very nicely priced. If you are looking for a custom experience, you may look elsewhere, but for basic hair cut, trims and such, you won't do better (and neither will your wallet) than here. read more

Worst customer service .... and one of the worst haircuts my son has had. I had a girl named Joanna and let me tell you.... She was so incredibly rude to my son and she clearly hates her job and hates her life if she's treating her clients this way.. the entire time she was rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing when my son barely moved the entire time... she acted so inconvenienced by having to do my sons hair ... I've gone there multiple times and everyone else has always been so kind sheena and Kaylee have done my sons hair many times and have never had an issue .. and they've always been so nice .... This girl was so damn grouchy and moody the entire service. Honestly if I ever do consider going back I will call ahead and make sure that Joana isn't there.... Went there 8/29 and my stylist was Ruth. Other than one of the very worst haircuts I've ever had!!! She never introduced herself, never asked my name or anything about me but spent the entire time complaining about her husband not controlling their dogs. Not sure where she got her training, assume she had some, but didn't follwo my requests in any way. I only recently moved to Mesa from the Oakland CA area and there I had gteat luck with stylists at 2 different Great Clips including one who was the best I ever had. She not only did a great cut, but she ended up stylying my hair better than ever. If you must go to this GC, be sure to avoid Ruth. read more

Went today and willing to wait 60 minutes for a haircut. I was kicked out of an EMPTY waiting room because the "boss" printed a sign saying the chairs were reserved for the next person on the list. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE. IT WAS EMPTY. When I asked if I could just sit there until they showed up I was asked not to be difficult. I understand social distancing and I wear a mask. I checked in online. Arrived 5 minutes early. Confirmed I arrived. Another lady checked in online, arrived twenty minutes late. Was taken back before me. Another man did not check in online. Was pulled in before me because he was a regular. I've sat in the heat for over 30 minutes, still waiting, and if it was not for my cousin getting her hair cut(we checked in the same time) I would have left. This is fucking bullshit. To skip people in line is terrible customer service. I did not want to sit outside this long only to have to sit in the chair for even longer. It is hot. I am tired from work and still have errands. I know they are busy. I don't mind waiting my turn, except my turn has been skipped twice so far. read more

Don't get your haircut by Kailey Patterson. She was filling in at the power location and completely botched a simple trim (no layers, just wanted it all one length) and she took less than 5 minutes. I just had to go to another location 2 days later and they had to take off two extra inches in order to correct it. Management said "she's a quicker stylist at their location, but she usually does a good job" and I doubt they'll do anything about it. read more

I first went to the McKellips/Greenfield location (aka Falcon Gateway) in Mesa, AZ yesterday. The music was too loud and TERRIBLE, LA hood music. I left. The next day I went to this location and hair cut was ok considering they are required to get you In/Out in 6 minutes per company time-clock (monitoring) via company software tracking. Had appointment at another location, but the hoody/rapper crap was SO bad I left. Today, I tried this place as have done before...just as stupid staff. The guy (Rich) on my receipt had nothing but rhetoric when I'm trying to provide what I wish to have done to my hair (short haired male-wavy hair). In the end, hair cut was ok, but the LAST 3 times I went to Great Clips they FAILED to clean/trim the hairline behind my ears down my neck. THAT IS A FRICKIN STANDARD you numb-nuts! NO MAS! Great Clips will be shutting down MORE locations that I've already witnessed the past year. Their lame ass Corporate Management MUST be removed/fired IF they want to make ANY profit. Hey, Great Clips...I can help! But the current CEO, CFO or whatever you want to call the idiot MUST GO. Talk to me. I WILL NOT SPEND MY MONEY AT ANY GREAT CLIPS GOING FORWARD. I love the atmosphere that I feel when I walk through the door! I am always greeted with a big smile and a very warm welcome! The staff is always great just like their service, no matter if I'm sitting on the chair or my little one. Well, I have been coming to this specific Great Clips for YEARS! Many who know me know I slowly losing my hair these days but that's doesn't mean I don't take pride in my strong strands fighting to stay upright, so I don't let anyone cut the remaining bad boys. These strands get 5 star treatment... Great Clips has made it so easy to check in Phone app so you don't have to sit around and wait a hour sometimes. The system I think holds your name in there for 2 hrs. so if you check in and come in even after your Approx. time you should be next up. This is a little different for me because I only let one select pair of hand touch these beautiful locks of hair. I have allowed Mary the privilege of making my hair into a masterpiece for over 4 years now... I walk in looking like cousin It and walk out looking like a young Enrique Iglesias (before J-LO). On a serious note she is one of the best in my view, and you can tell because sometimes there is a wait for her! She always takes her time(maybe because i'm a amazing conversationalist) and makes sure its done to spec. I hope she never retires!!! I have gone to a couple of girls at this location from time to time when Mary is out for a long period of time and I get to looking raggedy. They do a GREAT job too, duh because its GREAT clips. If Your looking for a place where you want to see the same faces, and receive the same haircut, and no surprises give this location a try. ** Side Note** - Great clips will not shave nor trim your back I have tried.... :( read more

"Great Clips"? Not even "good clips". Waited 2 hours on a Saturday. Eight people checked in online, and when their names were called, they weren't even there. Instead of dropping them from the list, every time a "stylist" finished with a customer, their names were recalled. I was a customer at this location for two years, but not anymore. The stylists were too gabby with the customers & took too much personal time in between clients. My haircut preferences are in their computer but the stylist kept asking me my preferences, then didn't do the cut correctly. I will go elsewhere, & pay more for better professionalism. read more

It was a busy day when I was there. There was 5 of us waiting to get cuts. And a stylist got done with a cut, he proceeded to sweep up the hair, below the hair off for him, put hand lotion, on walk to the back mirror and fix his hair. You would think he would jump in a grab one of the 5 of us setting WAITING FOR A HAIR CUT. But no he did everything but help us..... this went on for more then 5 minutes. Even another stylist finished and called a person to get there cut. And if he was on a break go in the back or go out side. I left and went to another store. Checked in online with a 2 minute estimated wait time. By the time I arrived and checked in with the lady upfront, the app was showing a 1 minute wait. Yet, several people came in after me and received services before me. When I was called, the lady who cut my hair did not appear to be happy to be at work and she felt it necessary to dispute my visual finger-measurement of an 1/8th inch. Instead, schooling me by telling me "that is more like a half inch". Either way, was that necessary? My daughter paid for me and 3 other people to go here for a blow out before my sons wedding. Omg the girl I had doing my hair was a disaster. She put some kind of products on my hair which is fine and med long that took out every bit of shine and had my hair looking like a wreck. The end result was I looked in the mirror said omg I have to go fix this. I went home washed all the nasty stuff out of my hair and then restyled it myself. Thank goodness she didnt make me late to my own sons wedding! The girl even told me that she wasnt very good and styling hair. So why in Gods name did she work there? Anyway no big complaints o the other 3 that went though they did make my one daughter in law look like a soccer Mom. That was easily fixed by adding some curls. I do not recommend this location of great clips and suggest Ulta as a better alternative. I think my daughter should have been refunded for my nightmare hair. read more

This location of Great Clips (4437 E. Southern in Mesa) is terrific! The work they do there is excellent, and all of the employees are very friendly and complete professionals. At the other end of the spectrum is the Great Clips located at McKellips & Greenfield...which consistently provides the worst service I've ever encountered at any hair-cutting establishment anywhere. There are a couple of good employees at that location, but experience shows that most of them are cold, disinterested, and anything but professional in their approach. Don't waste your time or money at the McKellips & Greenfield shop; go to the one on E. Southern; it might be further away, and it's not open until 9am on Saturday, but your visit will be MUCH more pleasant. read more

Wow! I love my hair! Checked in online walked in and Dallas seated me right away. Dallas asked me all kinds of questions asked if i wanted a shampoo in which I did decline. I had shoulder length hair and was just going with about an inch off. I then decided i want a lot off. Dallas was a little shocked but I said go for it. She told me every step she was taking and made sure to see if it was ok. I now have an inch in length and longer on top. I love how concerned she was and she wasnt nervous just a concern since taking off so much and the first time I was in her chair. I usually paid 45.00 on up for a cut but now money is super tight so I decided on Great Clips. I was nervous but what the heck i needed a trim I am more happy with my hair by Dallas for 13.00 then i have been with the higher priced salons. Why did I not do this sooner. I would have saved a lot of money. Dallas is now my go to girl for my hair! read more
