I was sick of going to another area barbershop because it seems every other time I go the price goes up by a buck and figured I would give Great Clips a try because I saw they had $6.99 hair cuts. I am no model, my hair is really easy to cut, and I am not very picky since it grows back pretty fast. I called and they said to check online to get my name in. The website was nice and convenient so I put my name in. I arrived at the store and 2 employees were working. Apparently, $6.99 is only at the Meijer locations because the haircut was $13. Too late to back out now. A gentleman, with a sweet mustache was working, but I ended up getting the lady. From the moment I walked in she seemed annoyed that I was there. Maybe she was about to go home if a customer didn't walk in or something, but I have no idea what I would have done to give her such attitude. She called me back, asked how I wanted it cut and the conversation stopped there. No small talk at all. Typically it takes about 10 minutes to cut my hair, but approximately 4 minutes and15 seconds later she was done! No wash, no hot towel, no product included like they have at the place across the street. She said I was done and from a quick glance in the mirror it didn't look terrible, but I had no idea how she could do it so fast. As soon as I got to my car I could see in the reflection in the window that it was a mess. Long clumps of hair mingled in with the properly clipped spots. I immediately drove across the street to my usual place and begged them to squeeze me in and fix it, which they did. Apparently, even my neckline was so crooked that the new girl had to trim it up a quarter inch higher than it should be. I would have gone back in to Great Clips and had her fix the disaster that she created, but I have a job interview in just a few days, which was why I was getting it cut, and was worried I would end up bald by the time she got it right. I learned a lesson and will continue to patronize the place across the street from now on. I have a feeling the sweet mustache guy would have done it right, but to save 2 bucks I won't be risking it. read more
