ANOTHER MICROBREWERY in Toledo! Gimme a HELL YEAH! No...seriously...give it to me now...NOW, I…read moreSAID! I don't get down this way TOO often, but when I do, I try to stop at Earnest Brew Works. For pure variety, EBW is tops in town. There's at least 18 beers available at any given time (assuming that nothing has sold out yet). Probably, their flagship brew is the "Crunchy Hippie Granola Brown Ale." Not my fav, but it is popular around The Glass City. There's usually 4 or 5 IPAs on tap at any given time. How are they? I'm an IPA rookie...you'd have to ask Summer D, next time she's home. Depending upon the temperature, you can find me drinking (almost any friggin' beer, but I really like) wheat beers and stouts/porters. Right now, EBW is offering Scotch Barrel Aged Orion the Hunter Black Imperial Wheat...awesome at 11.2 v/v EtOH! Talk about the best of both worlds! Food? How about popcorn? BUT, food trucks and Pizza Cat are often available. Then again, you didn't come here to eat, did you? The first documentation of beer being brewed in these lands dates back to 432 years ago (although we're pretty sure that the Indians brewed beer before this). That's a long time. Keep the tradition alive! When you're in South Toledo, have a beer at Earnest Brew Works! 5 stars!!

New local favorite unlocked!…read more My husband and I had a quick date night at the newly opened Voodoo Brewing Company in Canton, and we're already planning to go back this week! Tonight we shared the BLT with avocado and their skin-on fries (so good!). I had the Tropical Cherry Mule --absolutely delicious--and David tried the Hazy Vibes IPA. Yesterday he and his buddy sampled the Lacto Kooler Sour, loved it so much they bought a six-pack and a shirt before leaving! A huge shoutout to our bartenders, Sarah and Shana, who made us feel right at home. We also had the pleasure of meeting owner Carla, who is incredibly friendly and a fellow dog lover--always a bonus in my book! The artwork throughout the brewery is stunning, hand-painted by two tattoo artists from Old World Tattoo in Imlay City. The detail is incredible and really gives the place its own unique personality. And that logo? So cool! If you're looking for a great new spot with amazing drinks, tasty food, awesome people, and a fun vibe, definitely check them out. Canton, you've got a winner! We'll definitely be back. #VoodooBrewing #VoodooBrewingCanton #SupportLocal #CantonMI #DateNight #MichiganBreweries #CraftBeer #CherryMule #HazyVibesIPA #LactoKooler #DogLovers #GoodVibes #Foodie #Cheers #NewFavoriteSpot

If you are into craft beers, Voodoo Brewing, may be a hit for you as they have a pretty decent selection. We sat at the bar as it was later in the evening and there wasn't many people. We split a flight of beers and didn't order any food. Our flight a beer was over $20 as our flight included an imperial stout. Our go-to establishment for craft beer in downtown Sylvania charges $8 - $11 for a flight and they also usually have stouts as part of their regular lineup. Several TVs available so you can catch your favorite team playing as you enjoy some brews and food. The interior of Voodoo Brewing is definitely unique to say the least, especially the table set having a chair tilted against the table to honor those who served our country, but paid the ultimate price for our freedom. A touching tribute for sure. Each time we go by this establishment, the parking lot is full, so they are doing something right.

Like I've said in other reviews, Northwest Ohio's local microbrew scene is booming, and Patron…read moreSaints Brewery is an excellent example of why. BEER: The beer is always very good, and frequently, it's great. There's usually about 12 to 14 beers on tap at any given time, and many styles are represented. I honestly can't think of a single brew that I didn't like...well, that's not true...PSB attempted some gluten free concoction that didn't hit the mark, but hey, nobody's perfect. Personal fav? St. Elizabeth pale wheat. It's a light, refreshing (better in the summer) American wheat beer that is ultra refreshing. 5.5 % EtOH means you can drink all day, and still do the do all night. There's usually more than one IPA on tap...and there's stouts...and there's nitro stouts...and there's farmhouse ales...and there's apple ales...and there's etc, etc, etc, etc. There's plenty of season variety, too. LOCATION: For me, the location is fantastic; it's located just west of Ottawa Hills, on Bancroft. It's right across the street from Middle Eastern Mart. ATMOSPHERE: Nice and laid back. The tap room is small...there's maybe 20 places to sit, and it does get crowded. It's clean and the staff is friendly. THEME: Think local...whether you're religious or not, if you're from Toledo you know that Catholicism and Toledo are tightly intertwined. The names of the beers pay tribute to some of Toledo's schools (St. Francis, St. John, St. Ursula), churches (St.Hedwig), hospitals (St. Luke's, St. Anne's), and holidays (St. Nick). FOOD: If there isn't a food truck in the parking lot, PizzaCat will be in da house! HOLLA! There is one problem, however...unlike the Stubborn Brother down the street, Patron Saints Brewery doesn't have Gennessee (sic) Cream Ale on draft, nor do they have regular Coors, nor do they even have box wine. If you're into this stuff, PSB place might not your, um, how does that go...spirit animal for adult beverages? Patron Saints Brewery is a fantastic addition Toledo's craft beer scene, and I hope they stay around for a long time. If you love Toledo, or if you support small business, stop in and drink some great local beer. Five stars!

Interesting theme based brewery relating to patron saints as the name suggests. I ordered the St…read more Jude which is a sweet potato stout with cinnamon and vanilla. Not sure I would like it but surprisingly the taste grew on me. This brewery has a good selection of seltzers, IPA's and stouts among others to choose from. No food here but they do have popcorn which is free and popped in a movie style popper. There are food trucks here on a regular basis it appears so you can pop out for a burger or whatever, a Lebanese truck was here during our visit. Quiet atmosphere so I would recommend if you like an atmosphere conducive to talking. Interesting place that may appeal to your inner spirit in many ways.

I've only been to the Downtown Perrysburg location but have been impressed every time. They have a good variety of beers on tap that they make including some rotating seasonal selections. Not a beer drinker? They also have a full bar with specialty cocktails, wine, and NA options. I've stopped in a couple of times for a casual drink at the bar or to enjoy on their amazing summer patio area. They often have events like live music to enjoy so keep an eye out! This visit, I stopped in for brunch with friends. Their menu is smaller but has good variety and is priced well. I got the Biscuits & Gravy which had a handful of biscuits sauced in their house made gravy and topped with fluffy eggs. Delicious! My friend got the Chicken Salad Sliders which came with 3 pretzel bun sliders filled with yummy egg salad and a side option. He chose their chips which were tasty. My husband got the Chicken & Waffles. This was the most expensive but smallest portion. The sandwich itself was good and comes with a side but side options aren't listed on the menu. The entree was served on a large plate and simply looked small in size. Flavors were good but it left room for more food. Overall, this is a great, easy food and drink spot in Perrysburg. They offer their beers on tap but also some are canned for purchase in the to-go fridge. Stop out in the summer to enjoy their prime season and get a DORA cup to enjoy while walking around Downtown Perrysburg!

I've been here a time or two with friends and the ambiance and food is always amazing. They have a phenomenal happy hour menu and man does the place fill up fast. My favorite part of the fried cauliflower is they offer to toss them in all the different sauces. We ordered them "bare" with the garlic sauce on the side with their homemade ranch and wowza! We ordered the following: 1) Southern Tier, Cheat Day - Imperial Ale 2) Asiago Truffle Trifecta 3) BPH Signature Wings - Coffee Whiskey BBQ 4) Sous Vide Chicken w CBT side salad Food as usual was delicious. We were able to take advantage of a Foodie Card with a $10 discount. BPH offers 3 $10 discounts for a single card. The total of $30 discount is almost the same as the price paid of the entire deck of Foodie Cards! A win-win for sure.
