As I've said in the past, I'm probably not the best judge of good beer... because I like most beer…read more BUT, for what it's worth, I'll say that, so far, I've been VERY pleased with the offerings from GBSB. They brew beer (on site) that will please almost any pallet. You're a fan of light and refreshing Wit beer? Yep. How about jet black (essentially) imperial stout? You're covered. Christmas ale and "French toast ale?" You're still good. IPAs, yeah sure of course. At any given time, it seems like GBSB will have between 20 and 25 beers on tap. Is the brewmaster stretching himself a little too thin?? Maybe. I wonder what would happen if they decreased the number of beers brewed at any given time and focused maybe JUST A LITTLE BIT more on quality. Regarding EtOH, they have more than just beer, but every time I've been here, I've only seen people drinking the fermentation of malted barley (and a little wheat). And for good reason...the beer is good! There's no food to speak of, but like most microbreweries around here, you can frequently find a food truck parked outside. The location (on Tedrow in South Toledo) is great. Inside, GBSB is clean and very comfortable. I'd say the taproom could be considered to be a little towards the "sports bar" side of the scale, but still, the TVs are not overly intrusive. Free popcorn. The service has always been great...fast and friendly. The prices? It's craft beer. Regarding the atmosphere again. Great Black Swamp Brewing is dog friendly. You can bring your dog(s) inside. Bring your dog but don't bring your mother-in-law. FOUR STARS, with the potential for 5.

This is Ohio and the weather here 7-8 months out of the year are not a open your windows type of deal. I like beer. I drink beer if Im going to drink most times out. I tried a flight here of 4 of their beers and did not find one that was good. For me. As my man was enjoying the atmosphere I even resorted to getting a glass of wine so we could hang for a bit. Service was just ok. They do have food trucks time to time. None when we were there. I can just imagine how cold it is in here in fall/winter with warehouse type spot atmosphere. Glad I checked it out but don't see any reason to return for me.

My husband and I decided to try this place and we went on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one…read moregroup of people there besides us. We each got a flight of wine, white for me and red for him. Some of the wine we tried was "drinkable" but I would not go so far as to say it was good. Unfortunately the rose' was not drinkable and actually tasted off, as if it had turned or spoiled. I brought this to the attention of the woman working there, and instead of offering to open a new bottle for us to try, she insisted that that's "how it tastes" and said that the color was supposed to be brown. Poor customer service in my opinion. On a positive note, the interior was nice, with plenty of seating. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

We decided to do a tagabrew trail in Ohio to add to our collection. If you go on their website they…read morehave a full list of breweries that participate. This was off the beaten path and a bit of a drive but the place was pretty cute. Apparently they have done some renovations and have a very large area that was added to the building. We chose to sit out back as we were told there was out door seating. They need to work on that a bit if they are going to claim that. The picnic tables weren't covered, the area was mushy and it smelled like a farm. Inside was pretty cute though. We decided to share a flight of wine instead of beer as this was a vineyard as well as a brewery. We weren't fans. The wine tasted like cough medicine and I feel terrible saying that. We may come back to try the beer but we will see...

Diverse and friendly crowd; when I was there, my drinking buddies were a family fresh out of church, a couple of broskis from the school, and a couple of black Hipster chicks also from BGSU (I honestly thought, for just a second, that the one girl was Zazie Beetz). I liked the vibe. In addition, two dogs, with their people, were also in the building; be sure that you don't step on a lying dog's tail while you're in here. Good music. Beer: 12 beers on tap. Great selection. There should be something for any palate. I would say, however, that if stouts and porters are your thing, you may be disappointed...at least at this time...the closest thing is BG's Big Brown. This is a smooth American Brown Ale. All in all, I tried 6 of their 12 beers and I liked every one. Hop heads may be disappointed as their hoppiest IPA tops out at 76 IBUs (if that). I normally hate wheat beer that's contaminated with fruit flavors, but BGBWs strawberry mango wheat was really good. No food is available, but you can bring food from anywhere, or you can have it delivered. Great place. 5 stars.

This place was unique in that it had these great roll up doors so you could be outside but in. It was a gorgeous 75 and sunny day in Ohio. No rain today. So sitting outside makes this girl happy. This location was full of fun locals! He ordered a flight and I stuck to an Amber. They have food trucks on specific days and times here and the food looks aka smells delicious! The atmosphere was welcoming. The beer was smoothe and cold. My memory starts getting fuzzy around now. But this was a very fun place! Check it out!
