They had a few larger tables. I had a cup of snapper turtle soup. It was pretty good. Not too many places carry it anymore. I also had the softshell crab sandwich that was one of the lunch specials. The crab was delicious. So fresh. The breading was light and crispy. Not greasy at all. My only complaint was the roll. It was not good at all. Kind of tough and too thick for the crab. It didn't do the crab justice. The house made chips were good. The coleslaw flavor is good. It's just super chopped into tiny pieces so the texture wasn't for my liking. I can't explain it. I did try a bite of the salmon croquettes appetizer. They were pretty good but the toppings were too much. They were swimming in balsamic vinegar. There was another sauce on top of them. The crab cake sandwich was good. That was served on a potato roll. It was all crab and not much filler. I would get that next time!

Our waitstaff, Ben and Brittany, were phenomenal. They were attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. I have a special dietary restriction, and they were kind enough to prepare a separate plate for me instead of having me choose from the main buffet. We also arrived a little early to put up some small decorations, and Ben was incredibly helpful in getting everything set up. The views were beautiful, and the food was delicious. Inside, there appear to be separate rooms available for private parties as well as regular dining, which makes it a cozy and versatile place for celebrations and larger events. My entire family was very pleased with how everything turned out. Another bonus is the location--it's situated in a charming little town with shops within walking distance, making it a great place to explore before or after your meal. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider returning for another special occasion!

First time here, and I was expecting better based on the reviews. Entrance, tables, chairs, and…read moreambiance were as I expected. Ordered New England Clam Chowder. Served quickly and hot in a big, wide bowl. It looked good. Had small, irregularly sized potatoes and chopped carrots. The broth was a little thicker than I imagined or had tasted before in other restaurants, or in the one I make. Clams were tiny and, as you'd expect from a can. Not fresh clams. In fact, you can put all the clams found in chowder in a single tablespoon. Even found a whole bay leaf in it, which should have been removed before serving it. So, how is the chowder? I've had better from canned chowder, and the one I make is way better. Zero stars for the chowder. Next up is the Turkey platter with sliced turkey (hard and dry), 1 ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes (ok, nothing special), 1 ice cream scoop of stuffing (totally disgusting, and had corn in it), string beans (with vine still attached), gravy (terrible), and a little cup of cranberries (decent). Total fail. The waitress was ok, though stopping by every 5 minutes to ask if everything was good was quite annoying. The 'ice water gentleman' was great. You never asked for water, and when the glass was 1/2 empty, he was there refilling it. Great job! The final score of 2 stars is for the historic inn's ambiance and layout. We won't be back, and do not recommend.

Kids were running around laughing and playing, everyone was in a great mood. People pulling in and out on their boats. The ambiance is the real winner here hands down. I will say that $15 for my teeny tiny wings (although they were delicious AF) was a bit much. I think next time I come (because I will go back, it's that great of a vibe) I'll just stick to the happy hour menu and hopefully won't feel as disappointed. Or at least get an actual meal for $15 and not just wings... I saw a few comments about the slow service and I noticed that too. It took a little longer than expected to get service once I was seated. But once the order was placed, everything did come out very quickly for me and the table next to me. I figure with any kind of waterfront/relaxed bar atmosphere you should anticipate a slightly slower experience than a typical restaurant and it didn't bother me at all. All in all I think it was a great afternoon and I'll definitely be back to try a few more things.

Initially, things seemed promising as everyone placed their orders and most of the group received their meals fairly quickly. Unfortunately, another family member and I, who had both ordered the same entrée, were left waiting. Approximately 20 minutes later, when the rest of our party was nearly finished eating, our server informed us that the restaurant was out of tuna and that we would need to choose something else. It was very disappointing that it took so long for us to be notified. I ultimately ordered the mahi tacos, but they lacked flavor and were quite underwhelming. I attempted to ask for Tabasco sauce, but our server did not return to our table for quite some time to check on us. When she finally came back, I ordered another Tito's and soda and asked if it could be made as a double because my first drink tasted mostly like club soda. She informed me that the drink I had already been consuming was a double, which was surprising given the taste. At that point, I switched to water. Several others in our group were also disappointed with their meals and did not enjoy their selections. Between the long delay, poor communication, inattentive service, and disappointing food, the overall experience fell well short of expectations. Unfortunately, I do not plan to return.

Chicken francaise was listed as an early bird choice. However we ordered 2 of those and both were charged full price at end of meal. When I asked if we ordered too late for the cheaper early bird price the waitress said "you didn't say the words 'early bird special' when you ordered" so you oay full price. Very surprised at lack of customer centric manner.. either ask the customer during order process since YOU know there are 2 prices possible, or assume if someone orders something on the early bird list, they want that price...... Net: future customers beware of that trick.... not sure I will ever go back.
