I had no idea that this location is locally owned. I'm not sure when the new owners took over and had never met the previous owner. However, I was greeted with a smile and to my surprise it was the new owner at the cash register. He was very friendly. I got the Birthday Sprinkle Ice Cream Cake. Hubs and I have managed to eat this whole cake in a matter of days. I love that this location is open late so after we get pizza next door we can get cookies or ice cream. Marble Slab and Great American cookies brings back nostalgia of when I was a teenager. I've never had a flavor of ice cream or cookie that I didn't like. read more

Pretty good outlet of the Marble Slab Creamery, hidden away in a small shopping center and sharing space with the Great American Cookie. At present it really seems built for take-out only, but the space is neat and clean. Fast and friendly service; if you like this franchise you'll enjoy this place. Only taking off a star since this is one of their smaller outlets. As such it's missing a bunch of the flavors (they need Black Cherry!) and toppings that I'm used to seeing. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Marble Slab Creamery and Cookies on Lakeline Interesting business model that relies on forgetfulness for repeat customers. Tried this place two years ago and was not impressed then but thought that maybe it had changed. Nope. Same poor attitude and lousy service. We were the only customers in there at 630 on a Friday night. The one change is that prices are almost double what they were 2-3 years ago, so I guess that's how to cover no repeat business. read more

This has been in my neighborhood for several years now but I only got to check it out this evening when my son and I stopped in for some ice cream. The young lady behind the counter was delightful. She took the time to walk us through all of the options and, in my opinion, did a fantastic job educating us on the business including the fact that the ice cream is home made on site. (As a business person, this is exactly the type of employee I would love to have working for me.) I got a chocolate shake (I'm boring) whereas my son went all in on some slab ice cream with a half dozen toppings AND a cookie. Tuesday I had a cookie cake order that was really important to us and even with the snow and ice the owner of the store Kurt went out of his way to make sure we got our order. So happy to have another ice cream option in Leander! It's not only ice cream though...it's cookies, cakes, and shakes too! (I just made a rhyme ). There are plenty of options there to satisfy your sweet tooth. I'm more of an ice cream guy myself, so that's what I got! You can either get a cup or cone (they also have dipped cones with all sorts of toppings-sprinkles, Oreos, etc). You pick what ice cream flavor you want, and then you can stick as many toppings on there as you like. Seriously, you can put as many toppings in there as you can fit..no change in price. My only gripe would be that they didn't have hot fudge available just yet, but I won't dock them a star for that. They mash everything up and give you back ice cream that's full of delicious mix ins! Staff was friendly, and the restaurant was extremely clean-he said they had only been open for 3 weeks. Will be back for sure! read more

I have been a loyal Great American Cookie company customer my entire life - cookie cakes are my all time favorite cake. I generally use the location in lakeline mall as they have always done a great job and have never let me down! This location opened fairly recently but is super close to our house so we decided to give them a shot. A few weeks ago I ordered a cookie cake with 4 hours notice. When my husband showed up to pick it up, not only was it not ready, it hadn't been started. He went back 2 hours later and picked it up since it was for an event we already had planned. Fast forward to today- I called at 2:30 hoping to pick up by 5. I specifically asked the lady on the phone if 5pm was reasonable, and she replied back with 2 hours are all they need. When my husband showed up to pick it up, not only was it not ready, not only had it not been started, they told him they lost the instructions. They requested he repeat the instructions and return to pick it up later. No thanks! We will find another location that has employees that actually follow through on their commitments. read more

The employees that work here were super nice and very fast in getting our ice cream and getting us paid. However, what I believe to be a manager or an owner came in from outside of the shop and quickly went behind the counter and began taking cookies off of trays. She didn't wash her hands and she wasn't wearing a mask. For someone that was in what appeared to be a management position to not following basic sanitary protocols I will choose another person pace to get my ice cream. read more

Hoping this place closes so a competent ice cream shop can come in to serve our community. They open later than than hours, close earlier than their posted hours, many times there is a handwritten sign on the door saying then they will 'reopen' & they are not even there/open during posted open hours. Different visits there has been no cups, no lids, no straws, almost no ICE CREAM because it had not been made for days however they make it onsite, no caramel, no marshmallow, no hot fudge, many toppings are out most of the time. Workers are sweet but management cannot seem to make this a functioning establishment and there is no reason to go there, they will be out of what you want. Incompetent management. read more
