I went in for an oil change and when the man up front asked me for the specific type of car I had, I said "maybe" to one thing -- whether it was an "ES" or something. He then stopped talking directly to me (i am the one getting work done on MY car and had my mom sitting in the waiting room, I am 23 years old and this is most definitely not my first oil change i've got done) and told my mom "you're going to want to pay attention because i'm not sure she understands this" and pursued to not speak to me about my vehicle and my mom who is just in the lobby. I was told I needed a new car battery, my oil tank flushed out and how there's a sludge coming out of it, & new filters which i just got at my previous oil change. Before I came here, I was just at the mitsubishi dealership and they checked my car entirely and gave me a whole paper of what I needed and the only thing was an oil change. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with how I was talked to as a grown woman. To undermine my intelligence over me just coming in for a basic oil change. Then to try to push all these other things I previously already got checked not even 3 days ago. I highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

This place is not very good place to go. Seem to be very dishonest. Tell my wife she needs new air filter and cabin filter. We mark and date the filters when I put them in. No date or marks on the ones they showed her not are filters. Over charge for same oil change had done last time charged almost 50 dollars more. Is oil really that much now. And said battery was bad and cracked with corrosion and only has 30 percent left on it.need to be replaced. Did have some corrosion give them that. I went for a simple oil changed and almost paid about 100.00 I didn't want anything else but an oil change. I took a chance with this company and never again will I go back. I went there maybe a month ago and I started to hear within the car some noises I never heard before going there. I didn't think anything of it until finally I got so annoyed I had my husband look under the hood. To my surprise I found that the place that kept my air filter was not put back together and the hoses that connected them were just wobbling under the hood. if I could give them a negative five. when my car rolled in it was running fine. when it rolled out about an hour later it stalled. it was determined they did not put oil in my car and it seized the engine. I payed for an oil change that wasn't done. the manager came to where the car was stalled and put oil in the car. when you pulled the dipstick it was gray with the metal. six weeks later I was finally contacted by their insurance and they wanted to total my car. I had outlay 2,200 to put in a new engine. I would have thought they would want to make sure the customer is well taken care of. Apparently not. Beware before you have work done there. Terrible just terrible the service was ehh and it was super expensive. I only went here because jiffy lube wait was too long. So the person who helped me was somewhat rude I took my boyfriends car and I don't know much abt it was rude when I had questions or when I didn't know the answers to his. But to make it worse after everything my car was running funny it totally quit on me and I had to get it towed to my mechanic. This location must now be operated by different people than when it first opened. I use to be very impressed by this place. I took my truck here for an emissions and a renewal sticker. During their service, , about 4 guys were talking, laughing, and eating around my truck, one guy was actually sitting in it. Its as if my truck was their lunch spot. Afterwards, I paid and left, and drove down the road when I saw that my gas door was open. Pulled over, and the cap was missing. Drove back and they had the gas cap, . guess they were to busy having a good time to see that they didnt put the cap back on, and didnt shut the gas cap door. Somewhat disappointed. read more

After reading the current reviews for Grease Monkey I wished I had read them before I went. I too had a bad experience. I gave Grease Monkey a go because they had 3 empty bays, and they are close to my office. They never seem to be busy which really is a bad sign come to think of it.... When I pulled in the guys were all sitting in the waiting room watching the movie "Surrogates" on TV. I sat for a few waiting on someone to come tell me which bay to pull up to, and when they finally noticed me, the tech had to wander across the shop to put his 64 oz soda on the work table. I could wait. His approach seemed like he was bored and borderline annoyed. Probably because I disrupted his show. I got into the waiting room and noticed that the floors were dirty, there was a heavy layer of dust on the edging on the counter, and everything seemed in disarray. Certainly the owner here or manager would want his establishment to look impeccable especially if they are dead slow. You are paying people to work there... make them clean. I asked for a full synthetic lube which "I hope" I got. They took out my air filter, which needed replacement, but in doing so tore the rubber outer ring, then told me that they didn't have a replacement. I asked what he was planning to do since they damaged mine, he suggested I could wait till Friday (5 days) for him to get one. At no point did they offer to have someone run next door to Wal Mart or somewhere to get one. The guy at the counter was pleasant, but kept bragging on how much cheaper they are than the dealership. My oil service cost me $98.. WOW... and that's without a filter. They call that cheaper than the dealership? I think not. I've never paid more than $80 at the dealership, and that gets me a filter and tire rotation. I'd love to be able to speak to the owner of this place. I won't ever go back. Seems there are others going there that feel the same as I. Sad because they spent a lot to build and open the business. read more

My mom took her car in for a routine oil change, they said they changed her transmission fuel as well, without asking her, then charged her for it. Little did she know you are not supposed to change the transmission fuel in her Chevy Cruz, it has a sealed transmission. Really you're never supposed to touch any transmission fuel in any car unless absolutely necessary. She drove to my house twelve hours away shortly after and had issues the whole way, as well as the check engine light turning on, leaving her terrified and worried she wouldn't make it. My husband is a mechanic so he checked her car and turns out the transmission sensor or OSS was bad, he had to drain her transmission fuel to change it and said they probably messed up the sensor my messing with her transmission. She had already had issues with the manager Joshua, before she left, saying was not very nice, argued with her, and had horrible customer service. When she went in to talk to him upon returning home, which she did safely thanks to my husband, she said he was so rude and argumentative. She said is the worst manager and she works in customer service. Would not recommend going to this grease monkey! read more

Took my car in for an oil change. Paid them to top off the fluids. My car wouldn't start after they pulled it into a parking space, telling me I'm all set to go. They said they bumped the kill switch in the car and that I'd need a key or a mechanic. Their solution was to pop the clutch to get it to start, then closed and locked the doors on me. THE WORST PLACE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. They may be fast, but they do a terrible half assed job. When I got home I took a look to see if they even changed the oil, they had, but it was overfilled. Also, the coolant had washer fluid in it and the washer fluid was bone dry. What did I pay them for? I want a refund. Awful customer service with dimwit "technicians". Update: after hearing several more complaints about them, my review is 100% valid. read more

I remember coming to this location a few years ago or so, when they first opened and remember them being WAY too overpriced for their oil change services. Today however, they have brought their conventional oil change plus filter down to $24.99. They're competitively priced (almost as cheap as doing it on your own), friendly, got the job done quickly, even wiped my windows down, and put air in my tires at no additional charge. I had never been to a Grease Monkey facility till this past week. The staff was super friendly and I felt good leaving my Jeep for a quick oil change. They were done when I came back at the requested time. The reason they get only 1 star is that they didn't do what they said they had done. As with any quick line place fluids are checked and such. They wrote down on my checklist that tire pressures were checked and all tires set to the correct psi. I noticed some of my tires were a little low when I got home. When I checked not a single tire was at the correct pressure. Not only that, some were less than half of what they should be. I can overlook many things when it comes to service but this is too much. I wonder what else may have been done or not done. Can I even be sure there is new oil in my vehicle. It is supremely disappointing to have such an experience on my first and definitely last visit. read more

My check engine light is now on, I had no coolant in my car, they said they filled my windshield wiper fluid but it is empty and they said my break fluid was in range but that was low too. Watched them reach behind the wheels to grease something and when they turned the car back over to me, the ABS light was on. These folks really helped me out in a jam. My tire was 10 psi below normal thanks to a series of unfortunate events that are not wroth detailing here. When I arrived they were closed(!) but the employee who was closing up shop was so nice and so gracious that once I told him my sad tale he was completely willing to help me out. So I have read all the negative reviews on this place. I was very skeptical on using them for inspection & Emissions however I figured that is pretty cut and dry. So I gave them a try. They have a special of $25 for both plus the sticker. You just have to pay taxes through the website while your there. I have been 3 times since and not had a bad thing to say. I've had minor services completed on several cars since 2012. This location has exceeded my expectations and I've never experienced any issues or problems. The staff isn't focused on up selling or taking advantage of the customers. They will complete what you wish to have done, however will still let you know if the have recommendations for additional services. During mid week they have a few deals on selective services (i.e. radiator flush, ATF flush, etc.). The current Manager has given me deals when combining a few services and he gives good price breaks to people who care about their cars. The visit is usually quick and would recommend if you need maintenance. read more

This place is a absolutely terrible place to bring your car in for service. They ran out of normal grade oil and ended up putting in a l full synthetic oil with out my permission. They said" it's a higher grade oil that cost more and is healthier for the car. We won't charge you the difference from the lower grade oil. I got a Groupon for safety and emissions here and drove all the way out to West dickin' Valley from downtown TWICE and didn't even get it passed because my windshield had a small crack (understandable, so I got it entirely replaced) and my window tint was supposedly too dark. No one's ever mentioned a word about it in the years and years I've had safety on this car done. It's a really light tint barely there to keep the car cool, nothing like the blackout windows you'd see on a douchey Audi weaving between lanes on the freeway. Waste of time, not worth the money. Learned my lesson and going l to little local shops instead of this poop stain of a chain. read more

Went in for an oil change, They tried to up sell me which is normally fine but they said my power steering was bad which it is definitely not it works perfectly fine. They don't rotate your tires or check any other fluids. They will only check oil! AND THEIR PRICES ARE ONLY FOR UP TO 5 GALLONS! I am always skeptical about places with one or two stars but decided to give this place a shot anyway. This was almost a year ago now and have come back 3 more times since then. Great service, the guys are all very nice and professional. They even top off oil in between changes for free. This is great since my car burns some oil. When I asked the guy inside why they have such bad reviews he said that the shop was under different owners then and are way better now. This must be true because I've had no problems whatsoever and won't go anywhere else now. This place is awesome. Give them a try, you won't regret it! read more
