Later that day they recommended rear brakes to be done because they were at 15% life, which I said let's go ahead and do. Later that same day they said that my front sway bar links could potentially be replaced if I wanted and that it *might* resolve a rattling noise that my car was making. For years my car had a slight rattle when idling so I figured let's go ahead and do that too for ~$500 they said it would cost. The next day I got my car back from them and all seemed fine initially. But when I took it on its first trip of real distance, I noticed things happening with it that weren't previously happening: the front suspension was very noisy, large pop noises were coming from the front of the car often, and the ride quality had massively degraded. At this point, I was pretty mad to put it nicely. It was disappointing to have done an "elective" repair to my car with the sway bar links and suddenly felt like my car was heavily affected in a negative way. Next week I reached out to them after not seeing any of the issues get better (and I would say they got worse) and they said bring the car in and we'll make it right for you, which, spoiler ... they absolutely seem to have done for me. I brought my car in Thursday morning, and later that day Chad called me saying they immediately found one issue with the sway bar link installation that would be fixed. But that the other issues still needed to be investigated. They ended up ordering parts for the car to address various side effects of the work that was done. I was given a loan through this entire process (Thursday - Tuesday) and Tuesday they said come on by the car should be ready. They did quite a bit of work for me on the car during that time frame, because Kyle said they were having a hard time tracking down the actual cause of the popping sound. But, regardless of that, the effort they went through the "make it right" and give me my car back in excellent condition was truly amazing and I might never see this level of customer service again in my life from any other business. Major props for how they handled this and I can't say thanks enough. So far, so good with the car since I got it back from them. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

The only time I was disappointed by that schedule was when I got a nail in my tire and had to take it somewhere else to get patched up. I appreciate that when I go for my oil changes, they also check the tires, brakes, etc. to make sure that the car is safe. In an "emergency," when my battery light popped on, they squeezed me into their busy schedule and let me borrow a car to get my daughter to and from school. Outside of the exemplary service, I appreciate how Busse is involved in the community. There is always a thank you note hanging on their wall and I know from my daughter's activities that they put money back into the community by sponsoring. I trust Busse with my car. I trust that they are doing what needs to be done to keep the car safe and not have me spend money. One piece needed to be replaced before the warranty on the work was expired and it was fixed in a jiffy at no additional cost to me. They always explain to me what is going on and always answer my questions patiently. As my daughter gets closer to the age of driving and cars, I look forward to her being the 3rd generation that utilizes their shop!

The brake fluid was down to close to the add level and after 2 days, her oil light came on after about 15 minutes into her drive to work. She took it to a repair shop and they hooked it up to the computer which stated the oil level was low. We checked it and It was 3/4 down. No sign of leaks. We added a quart to get her by and She called the "Hot Line". They told her to bring the car back to that location. She was hesitant as she didnt have the greatest experience there the first time! There was one closer to us but they were insistent that she bring it back to original store. She did, and as expected, they said everything was "fine". In my opinion nothing was really done in the first place. I've added a picture of the oil after 1 week of use. Doesn't look like new oil to me. I would not recommend this location.

Do not bring your vehicle here under any circumstances…read more Duke of Oil installed my filter incorrectly, causing a slow oil leak that led to my vehicle needing nearly $1,000 in repairs. This previous March I brought my vehicle there as I had done several times in the past for a routine oil change. A few months later, my check engine light came on, accompanied by a strange noise on startup. I brought it to a reputable, certified mechanic who showed me that the oil filter was improperly installed, probably using pliers or a wrench, causing oil to very slowly leak out, eventually causing damage to my engine from the lack of oil (there was barely a quart left, a fraction of what should have been in there). On top of the part needing to be replaced, I needed to have oil added, a new filter put on, and the bottom of the vehicle degreased. I'm lucky I brought it in when I did; any longer and the engine would've completely failed- a vehicle only seven years old in great shape was nearly totaled because someone couldn't do, literally, their one and only job. Once I got my truck back, after several days without it, I drew up a formal letter explaining the situation to Duke of Oil. It included pictures of the filter and a detailed invoice from the mechanic, who gave me back the damaged filter and broken part. This letter was hand delivered to the location where I was told it would be forwarded to a higher up manager. It has been one week since that letter was supposedly delivered, and I have heard nothing from Duke of Oil. I'm sure their initial rebuttal will be that several months passed between the oil change and the damage to my engine, making them not liable. To that, I'll refer them to the part where I mentioned it was a SLOW oil leak. Did I mention less than 2,000 miles were put on the vehicle in that time? I'm also sure that (if that letter was even actually forwarded) Duke of Oil thinks I'm either full of it and looking to get them to foot the bill for unrelated repairs or that I'm just a temporary problem customer who will cool off and go away. Neither is true. I've had several positive experiences at Duke of Oil since living in the area, and before this incident, would've continued to go to them. Unfortunately, due to their lack of taking responsibility, I will be filing the appropriate legal proceedings so that I can attempt to get reimbursed for the money I lost paying for their mistake and incompetence. I will also be very diligent in warning others in the community about Duke of Oil Mount Prospect through every possible channel I can think of.
