We have come here multiple times with no issues but after today they have lost a customer. We came due to text coupon, which we never received. We brought up that we came with intent to use coupon but it seems website is having problems. They said it's okay and then proceeded with trying to get up to get a higher oil changed Our car has issues since getting synthetic oil previously so our mechanic and dealership said to just do conventional from now on. We explained that to them but they were angry that we didn't want to up charged oil options. They did the oil change while we were talking without discussing prices or having final agreement. When it came time to pay They said that conventional was not included and it was too late since they did the oil change. That is very unprofessional since we came with intent to use coupon and were not told that it wouldn't work when we discussed it before work began. They were very rude and disrespectful and were blaming our phone provider for not delivering terms and conditions with their coupon. That is a company problem and not mine. read more

I came in with an oil pan that was not leaking, and I left with them saying I needed to reach out to a mechanic to replace my oil pan. They said it was not their fault because my mechanic who did my last oil change, put on the oil drain bolt incorrectly. I happen to like my mechanic and I wish I didn't try to get a quick overpriced oil change with take 5 for convenience. I overheard "Mathew" say that "Eire" should have used a torque wrench. Then I overheard "Eire" who was in the pit say I wish they had told me that at training. "Chris" told "Mathew" it was not her fault, and he was the first to say my mechanic put on my bolt incorrectly last time. "Chris" also forgot that he gave me a mileage sticker and gave me another one two minutes after giving me the first sticker and watching me put it on the windshield. After "Mathew" did my safety check he told me I needed to replace my oil pan and it was not their fault "because my mechanics put it on incorrectly" even though he told "Eire" she should have used a torque wrench which is commonly used not to strip the threads on an oil drain bolt. I reviewed the scenario with them before I left: My oil pan didn't leak from the bolt when I came in. After you did my oil change it does leak and I need a new oil pan, but it's not their fault because according to Take 5, my mechanic put on the bolt incorrectly, even though it wasn't leaking from the oil pan bolt when I came in. read more

I'm a little surprised at all the five star reviews on this place. They have an even higher rating on Google, so I thought it'd give it a try. At this point, I don't think I'll be going back. It took almost an hour to get my oil changed. I wasn't expecting to be out of there in five minutes, but I also wasn't expecting for it to take 45 minutes. As for the service, I didn't have any issues, but I didn't think it was great like other people are saying here. It took them more than 30 minutes after they started to even talk to me again and finally apologize for how long it was taking. Until then, I was just sitting there wondering what was going on. I was asked for my physical ID but not initially given a reason why, which I thought could've been handled better--I would've been happy to give it if he had said he was going to get my name and address, from the start. As for the value, I thought it was expensive--more than my regular oil changes. The "base" price includes the first five quarts, and then you pay extra for the remainder (the amount varies on the quality of the oil), so you could end up paying a lot more depending on the type of car you own. Again, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't four or five star service or value by any means. If staying in your car while your oil is changed is the biggest thing you value, this is your place. Otherwise, you could look elsewhere. read more

Ever since I got an oil change from them I've been having engine light issues with it coming on and going out all the time. I'm so sorry I ever went to this place to get an oil change just because the location is convenient. Just not worth the destruction they may cause to your vehicle. I rather drive miles to a competent business than to deal with their perceived incompetence. From my old beater Subaru to my newer luxury/sports cars in the past, I'm confident this place can do it all. The technicians who work here are knowledgeable and honest. They will not upsell a service, and will only do what is asked for. Prices are very competitive with the area. Me and my whole family come here for our oil changes. And the convenience of being able to sit in your car while it's being done is a game changer. They always offer a water bottle when I first come in as well. And don't be discouraged by the prices. If I could give this place 0 stars, believe me, I would. The techs were friendly and the speed was great. Or so I thought. 10 minutes for an oil change puts pressure on people, and it showed. After leaving, I drove my car for another hour when every time I stopped, the car jerked forward several times in a row. That's odd, right? Then the engine light came on. Uh oh. I drove it to Jennings Chevrolet and they got me in immediately. I told them about the oil change, but that I didn't know if that had anything to do with it. I showed the service manager the oil change receipt, and he said they put diesel oil in my car. What the what?!? He encouraged me to return to Take 5 to have them redo it. I refused. No way! They did the oil change again. Then they found the air filter cover wasn't replaced properly, allowing too much air into the system, which is why my check engine light went on. Fixed that too. So, for $260 I had to fix what Take 5 messed up. Oh, and when I talked about the diesel oil with the manager, Oscar, he lied over and over, denied culpability, and HUNG UP ON ME. Never again. They are good at oil change. Please don't take any other service there. They are not mechanic. They did coolant exchange on my Escape. They were struggling to do it because the limited space to put equipment in the coolant tank. They took a hour for oil change and coolant exchange. Then the car no coolant after two week and had to be towed to shop. Mechanic found the coolant hose had a major leak. Because they put too much pressure in. I called them to complain about it. They agree to pay me 50% for the repair but I never received the check. Such terrible experience. I received a check $150 after keep calling them. I'm not going to change my review. I spent $200 for the tow, $300 for repair and $99 for coolant exchange at Take 5. They give me a free oil change but that still not cover my spent. When I was first approached by Jay, he greeted me with a water and then asked if my passengers needed water as well since it was mid summer which we appreciated. They had two other gentlemen inside the facility and directed me into the bay which I felt was highly professional. Then they asked me what I needed so I said an oil change and showed me the different types of oils and told me which was best. And they had specific directions to shut down my car and showed me my actual air filter and (at a previous visit) coolant picture (that the coolant was sludge and bubbling...which made me think people weren't actually checking my stuff at other places just doing the bare minimum or possibly it's the car. The two gentlemen in front fixed everything and one gentleman came up to my window and showed me the oil and of it was dirty etc. So they finished the job and Oscar approached me and told me of other things I could fix and that a tubing had a crack in it and that is why my filter is getting dirty and such. So I let him. go home for an hour then run a couple errands. Buddy didn't close my hood so it flys open driving down Waukegan. Luckily I wasn't on highway. Get back to location at 2:50 and some other employee says they close at 3. That's when I got very upset. Enrique never once told me they close at 3. You would think that would be something he should have told me. the store also doesn't have a time on the doors for when it closes on Sunday. The nerve of another employee telling me I should have called when I was already in the shop ready to purchase service. I had a wonderful experience today at this new establishment, and I love the concept that you get to sit in your Vehicle while they change your oil. Honestly it does seem like a NASCAR PIT-STOP with how quick they change your oil, and the employees were super nice, and went above and beyond to answer my questions. Came in for an oil change and told they can't change my oil because the manager told me they won't change my oil. Their system doesn't have specs for Hyundai cars so they can't change the oil. I told them how much since I had my own oil anyways. Said they won't even after showing them the owners manual. For the past year i always go to them for oil changed....i never had or have a problem from them until recently they told me they changed their oil provider and they don't do regular oil change "only synthetic oil change" what kind of BS is that? My car is an old car that doesn't accept synthetic because it's engine chugged a lot oil and regular synthetic in which i tried already doesn't last long for me...so regular is the only way. Then suddenly they are forcing me to try synthetic? Don't i have a say on what to put on my car?
