This is my family's go-to for car wash and oil changes and they've never done us wrong, although they never get everything quite perfect either. For oil changes they usually move quick, though they always have at least a short wait. They used to let you pull your car in and stay in it the whole time, but now insist on doing it for you. For car washes you sometimes have to go through twice for missed spots, but it's nice that they hand-dry here. Plus, you get a free wash with every oil change. The vacuums aren't the greatest on suction, but they are okay for a quick once over. The staff is kind of hit and miss. Sometimes friendly, sometimes not so much, but usually easygoing. Prices are about on par for similar services in town. I like that they are a good place to get everything done at once. read more

Found out I needed to leave town for a bit unexpectedly so I used these guys to flush my coolant and service my transmission to save the time of doing myself for this long trip. I don't do yelp reviews. I'm unsure I've ever done one. That's how bad this is. First complaint wouldn't be worth the review but since I'm here I'll mention it. They had some elderly lady working the desk. I literally stood behind her for at least 5 minute. Closer to 10. She was Just staring out at the workers. I thought she was a customer too. Then she turns around and she's who works the desk. Then I watch her mess up every customers checkout process at least once (twice for a state trooper that was paying with a state card) and seemed to need help with every transaction. Since I never priced my work, I've no idea if I was properly charged. That's minor compared to the work. I paid $230 or $240 or so to have my transmission serviced and my coolant flushed. After a couple of days I notice fluid on my pavement. It's transmission fluid. I still haven't had that looked at. That prompted me to check my coolant. Guess what? There wasn't anything in the overflow to check. So I had to crawl under the truck and drain some. Checks -10°F. About the same as the fluid that was in the truck when I took it in for service. Fluid put in worth a radiator swap in 2016. I already know that grease monkey will say that's impossible. The use 50/50 premix. It should be about -34. I keep a tester in the glove box of all the vehicles we own that have radiators. All three say it's about -10°. I can't say how they did it. I don't know the method of flushing radiators. It was no better than when I took it and I couldn't even test it. I can't say how low it is. I'll take it to another shop before my trip in a few days. It won't be grease monkey. My first time there. Definitely my last. Maybe we can figure out why the driveway has transmission fluid on it. Fluid is full. I checked that. At least they got that right. I'm unsure I've ever pulled the trigger on a Yelp review. I'm doing it tonight. Never trusting these people with a vehicle again. Wasted money. I'm having it all done again at another shop since I don't have time to do it myself. I can definitely do it myself. That's how I know how pathetic this is. How the coolant is just as bad as when I brought it in but low? I can't explain that. That seems like they started and didn't finish or something. I just know people should avoid them. Transmissions are too expensive to play games with. This one was rebuilt 75,000 miles before I had them service it and it cost what cars used to cost. I'll have it done again my a transmission shop. I don't trust their work one bit. $240 lesson. Don't go to the quick people. I should've left when they weren't able to properly cash anyone out. Someone's grandma is running a computer for the first time. Stay away!!!! Do NOT go here! read more

Came in for an oil change. They were very accommodating and asked if we needed anything to drink and they did a courtesy check up on all of our lights as well. We were in and out in about 30 minutes and they also gave us a free car wash. Very happy with their service and staff. read more

Some of us have kids away at college and we can't just be there for our kids car issues. Let me say this if you're a parent with college kids I highly recommend this shop. I went to GM yesterday afternoon to have an oil change and my tires rotated. Staff members were friendly to me as usual (one of the reasons I started regularly using them over 1 year ago). I had my vehicle serviced with no issue. However, after driving no more than 25 miles yesterday, I returned home to find that one of the lug nuts on my front passenger side tire was noticeably protruding from the wheel. I bent over to inspect it and wiggled the lug nut. I kid you not, it was 2 rotations from falling off entirely. I was shocked that the tech would have done such a sloppy job securing my wheels after rotating them. After tightening the lug nut myself, I decided to check the rest of the wheels, and I found another lug nut on the front driver's side wheel that was maybe 5 screw turns from falling off. Honestly, I am quite angry about this. I take good care of my vehicle. Why would I continue to have it serviced by a shop that does such sloppy work? My vehicle is my livelihood and I can't believe that a shop which supposedly specializes in cars, doesn't know how to train their employees to perform basic things like tire rotations. I do not have a torque wrench currently, so I am literally considering taking my car to a Walmart Auto Center to have them fix the job that Grease Monkey butchered. A WALMART AUTO CENTER. Shit, I'm even considering Take Five, who I am embarrassed to say I openly made fun of while getting my services performed at Grease Monkey for over 1 year. If you can't tell, I am frustrated that I can no longer trust a shop that was previously the only place I would take my car. I am sorry to say that I will not be returning, nor will I recommend Grease Monkey to anyone I know. read more

Thought I'd give them a try but it was a very disappointing experience. I called first and told them the year, make and model of my car. They gave me the price and the amount for each extra quart.ge was $63.50 + $6.50 for each extra quart of oil. And I printed their $5 off coupon. However I was charged $17 more than they quoted. They said there was an $8 fee for the oil filter. I've had my oil changed in that same car in at least 3 other oil change places in Lubbock and none have charged me extra for the oil filter. Other places have charged me for .9 extra quarts of oil. Grease Monkey charged me for more oil than fits in my car according to the owner's manual. And, they didn't honor their $5 Off coupon I had printed earlier in the day. They said that, even though it didn't say so, it was for my next oil change. So I need to keep my receipt from this oil change and remember to show it to them the next time I come in for an oil change which would be in about 6-8 months and they'll give me the $5 off then. But the coupon expires in 2 week on 10/15, so I'll need to change my oil again in 2 weeks for it to be good. The $17 extra charges were a misleading disappointment since they should have told me about the extra conditions in advance, not after the work is done. And no remorse or apology from them when I explained my disappointment. read more

After hearing a lot of positive reviews from our community I went to Grease Monkey for an oil change on 8/17/2021. As a teacher about to start a new school year I wanted to check that off my list before life got busy. I had a good experience. I got a free car wash. I left feeling pleased. I got in my car and left. I got a couple of miles down the road when my car alerted me that tire pressure needed attending. Upon inspection, I noticed that although GreaseMonkey noted my tires were all at 33 psi the front passenger was at 47, the rear passenger at 36, the rear driver at 35, and the front driver at 37. I had just had a flat repaired prior to stopping at GreaseMonkey so that was likely the fault of that tire shop BUT I was disappointed that Grease Monkey technicians indicated they checked tire pressure and all was good. I went home and my husband adjusted the air pressure. Two days later my husband noticed a spill in the garage. At that point we discovered oil was leaking from my car. He got under it and noticed the filter was not tightened. I took my car back to Grease Monkey. I know that a technician not tightening a filter doesn't mean a company is not good. BUT the response does. I was greeted, treated respectfully, and directed to a manager. Preston (the manager) explained that they had used an off brand filter due to the oil shortage and had subsequently had nothing but problems. He assured me the guys would replace the off brand filter with the good filter, and check oil levels. He never apologized, and brushed me off when I mentioned the tire pressure concern. He sent me on my way. When I got home my husband crawled underneath only to find the exact same filter on left exactly as he had left it. I worked really hard to buy a new vehicle and work hard to maintain it. It is very disheartening to take your car in for a service and see what little attention/pride is taken to be sure a job is done correctly. I know not many people check to be sure what you are being told is the problem/solution to fix the problem is true. Unfortunately, this place showed me twice that their integrity isn't worth my trust. I value my vehicle and most importantly the people that ride in my vehicle too much. I came here with my sister a while ago and I was very impressed. The men who helped us were very kind and friendly. There has hardly a wait and they had offered us free sodas! They were very quick with the oil change and it came with a free car wash. I stole the paper shed needed to use to claim it and I went to get the wash for myself this is were it was disappointing . The car wash didn't clean my old 4Runner well and the vacuum cleaners did not clean my floor mats well. Otherwise I enjoyed my time here and I would recommend. read more

Had my oil changed at Grease Monkey. I commute for work and had driven back and forth a couple days when I smelled something burning today. HUGE oil leak in my brand new 2021 atlas cross sport. This was my first and only oil change since I purchased this vehicle new. I went to grease monkey because I had heard good things. Would not recommend. I went for the wash because of the business rating, which probably were more about their other services. Wash was only ok, for 20$. The main roller for the front, hood, windshield, and roof didn't come down and there were a ton of suds that barely got rinsed off at the end. read more

I spoke to the shop manager where i had my truck repaired and he talked to the mechanics that worked on my truck and they gave me their honest opinion. I was told that the wrong oil was not the reason my repairs. However I did get my oil changed again and had the right oil put into my truck and all the other things stopped, the jerking, feeling like something wasn't catching, the check engine light coming off and on and the engine power reduced sign. It all stopped. Am I still lookin for a different place to get my oil changed, I don't know. I shouldn't have had to pay for an oil change after I just got my oil changed. And there is the fact that I lost time from work because a doctor's note was thrown away. Just a heads up to anyone still using them. Request to stay in your vehicle and double check that they are using the right oil. Their work was fantastic in the past but this one negative trip has left me feeling sour about going back. read more
