But getting my Volkswagon fixed at Sam's was literally the best car repair experience of my life. I just had to write a review because it's SO RARE to find a quality, honest mechanic like Sam! We were due for our 100,000 mile maintenance and needed some preventative service done. We were visiting Uniontown had to leave in a few days -- but Sam was generous in fitting us in during a busy week. He did a lot of research to find the parts we needed, fast (and cheaply) and gave us a solid quote (which was much cheaper than anything we would have found where we live). When we came to pick the car up, Sam was thorough and walked us through everything he did to the car. He showed us the parts he replaced and told us about some additional issues the car had that he simply took care of for us. He had checked our previous maintenance records and left us with some great tips and pointers for how to best take care of our particular type of engine. He told us how one prior mechanic messed something (small) up on the car and told us the cheapest way to fix it once we were back home. The total matched his quote exactly and we were so impressed with the whole experience. He was careful, efficient, polite, professional, totally honest -- and very, VERY reasonably priced! Thankfully the folks a Frey's were able to do it. They had to replace the spark plugs, ignition packs, and the timing belt. Portions of the engine had to be taken apart in order to get to certain components. When I got the car back, it ran better than the day I got it. I mean, a lot better. Gas mileage became significantly better and the car became silent when idle. To top it off, I didn't break the bank getting all the work done. All these fixes together aren't exactly cheap no matter how you slice it, but it was much less than what I would have paid anywhere else. The value and quality of work are there. If your car needs something done, take it to Frey's.
