A messy place for simple things. Went for an oil change because I found some coupons online. The greeter wasn't sure which oil my car needs and asked someone else and they said only the 2 expensive ones can do. During the oil change, they asked if I wanted to pay them $10 to clean corrosion off my battery, after I declined, they said my battery was bad and need $200+ for replacement. They showed me a battery test receipt with 77% battery health and said they will put that I declined on their record. I have prorated battery warranty at another place, so I'll go check the battery out there. They also didn't replace my oil filter because they said it looked new but asked me to change my cabin air filter for $60. Their sticker on my windshield is also showing plate numbers of another car, so not sure my address and phone number etc that they took went to the right record. My warning light also came on the same afternoon, so I'll have to go figure out what that is about, probably at another place too. The upside is that it was quick for the oil change, took about 15 minutes. read more

On 1/4/25 my oil change was a disaster. I drove 80 miles on Sunday and my belly Pam was on the ground with the bolts missing. I went to Grease Monkey Monday and asked them to check my car. After 20 minutes they said I must've driven over something that had "torn it off". It was installed on 3/4/24. I went to Kia in Corinth and after 75 minutes they said it would cost $400 AND I had an oil leak. I went to Grease Monkey again and asked if their insurance would pay for the oil leak and belly pan. They ignored me and returned my car to Kia. The service I got at Grease Monkey was not satisfactory and the "customer service" was not satisfactory at all. I've been a client since 2000 and service was always great. The new owner hasn't contacted me. read more

My tire pressure sensor had gone off and being a busy student I realized I needed to get that fixed before I could plan anything else for the weekend. I normally go to DT but it's a little further so I stopped by this place right near my apartment like 5 mins before they closed and they were more than happy to help. They filled up the tires super quick and even replaced a broken cap for me! I had other questions about my car that they answered and I apologized for keeping them til 6 but they said they were so happy to help and accommodated to anything I needed it was awesome- even before they had to close up. As a female college student I've had multiple issues with many companies throughout my college career that have ripped me off. But, every time I come to Grease Monkey, whether it's for an oil change, windshield wipers, or a engine light. They constantly give me their best service without ripping me off, or charging an insane price. They will always try their best to save you money. It's so hard to come by oil/tire shops like these! They would give me free car checks, and every time swore up and down nothing was wrong with my car. As I was driving down the road, my wheel started shaking tumultuously. I went to grease monkey during the oil change and mentioned it. They told me my brakes were fine, and to maybe check for a tire rotation. I took it to a different shop, 16 problems were found! My brakes weren't "fine" they were gone! I have been driving around Denton without brakes. And apparently my oil was old and hadn't been changed and I had gone there just a week before! Anyways, after being a customer since July, I will never come back again. Please save your car and avoid this shop! read more

Brought my Honda here for a state inspection. This business has just gone through a full renovation, and it's clean and organized. Friendly and efficient service. They did a great job with my car. The waiting room was comfortable with a nice big screen TV. In the future, I will be bringing my cars here for an oil change. I found grease monkey after they responded to a quote I requested, and I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. The mechanics at grease monkey truly believe in explaining the issues wrong with your car and only offer you services you need unlike other rip off mechanics. They're waiting room was comfortable with water and coffee, and the bathroom was clean. Add in that everyone working there was polite and friendly and I had a wonderful experience as they replaced my brake pads and rotors, inspected my car, and replaced my wiper blades in just two hours! I've tried to give these guys some chances as I've been a consistent customer here since I live so close to it. All I've gotten is disappointment. They routinely goof off and fail expectations, fail to fix things or even tell you what's wrong, and they're crazy expensive. I came in for just a fuel filter replacement and they charged me 190$ for a job that is at MOST a 140$ job. Waste of time and money that I really didn't need and I really regret it. read more

I have two cars that I routinely take to Grease Monkey in Denton, TX. They take care of every need you have, and have even let me know when other parts could need updating soon. I like that they always give me options to fix the problem, like picking up the piece somewhere else and them putting it on (of course, you will need to pay for labor). Wait room is always air conditioned, coffee, water, and snacks are available. But what sets them a part to me is their oil change process. They have an amazingly extensive point check that they go through, I have not had similar experience at other shops previously. At the end, they go over everything that saw with their tests and did to fix the issue. On top of all of that, they have student discounts, I have seen apartment banner discounts driving by. I also believe they have military and senior discount as well, but don't quote me on that. Great car shop. read more
