I went to Grease Monkey (Store #878 on East Aurora Parkway) for a routine oil change on June 1, 2026, and left with some serious concerns that turned out to be completely unfounded. The technician told me that Ford had filled my transfer case with the wrong fluid and that it was leaking. This was surprising, as the service at Ford had been completed just one month and three days prior. To be safe, I took the fluid sample back to Ford. They reviewed both the sample and their service records and confirmed that the correct fluid had been used. I also had an independent mechanic evaluate it, and they confirmed there was absolutely nothing wrong. I was also told there was a leak, but I have seen no evidence of any leaking fluid where the vehicle is parked. This experience caused unnecessary stress and wasted time getting second opinions. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to verify any major claims made here before taking further action. read more

***Be warned*** brought my car in for an oil change. I usually go to the dealership, but I didn't have time to make an appointment so I decided to give these guys a try. My cabin filter was pulled out and shown that it needed to be replaced, I said no so they put everything back. They ended up just changing my oil. after 20 miles of driving my motor seized up and needed to be replaced. I had to have my heater fan removed and cleaned because of the debris that fell in when the cabin filter was removed for inspection. $14,000 later my mechanic told me he's had three cars with the exact same problem come in and need a new motor replaced. Be very careful going to any grease monkey. Horrible service. read more

Needless to say there a reason my husband maintains our personal vehicles and my experience at Grease Monkey is a clear example as to why: When a consumer brings their vehicle to a place like this it is usually for one of three reasons: first being that they lack the ability to do the types of services needed, second because they lack the tools to perform the services needed, or third because they lack the time to do the service themselves. For me personally - it was all of the above. Since my work vehicle was in need of an oil change and the brake fluid light had come on the day prior, I decided to have it looked at versus have my husband spend his time on it. So I decided to take it to Grease Monkey. Upon arrival, I let them know what I needed and they told me to pull my vehicle up to the bay door. When I went back in, I was given a menu of oil change choices and made my selection then took a seat while they finished up another customers vehicle and started mine. The gentleman ahead of me had chosen a certain oil type and when they were reviewing his transaction upon completion of the service stated a different oil. He pointed out the error and the service tech went to check on it to ensure that his request had been completed properly. The tech came back and stated it had been - but how is he supposed to know? He had no way to verify that the correct oil had been placed in his vehicle. He encouraged me to not get any work done to my brake system done there. Yikes! So when the tech came in to review my vehicles needs he said that the brakes looked fine and didn't need to be changed quite yet, but I did have a brake bulb out. He also attributed the brake fluid message to that and said that it was the same system so it would be the same alert - it is not. I know this for a fact because each message had been displayed the same day. The brake bulb alert comes on when the vehicle is started to tell you its out and the brake fluid low message displays many times while you're driving to alert you to the severity of the situation. While I understand that they service many vehicles and I don't expect them to have this information memorized - I DO expect them to have the tools and ability to look into those issues before telling someone blatantly wrong information. Needless to say I chose to just complete my oil change and bulb replacement there and heeded the other customers advice and will have my husband look at the brakes and brake fluid issue. They clearly don't have a handle on what they're doing at this Grease Monkey location. I definitely wont be returning. read more

Nice enough quick oil change place. They have decent prices, quick service and the guys that helped me out where friendly. This one even boasts free pop and coffee (a Kuerig for that fresh by the cup taste). However, it is REALLY hard to get into. I mean the narrow driveway to the right of the building was totally invisible with a car parked out front. So just know that going in. Plus if you get your tires rotated they actually send it next door - nice to have, but it adds time. Still, it was a good experience. I will likely be back! read more

It is beyond me how this place can't even correctly do an oil change. They tried to blame it on me due to the fact that I am young and a girl. They tried to scam me by telling me the only oil they could put in my wife's Pathfinder was the most expensive synthetic oil because they were trying to protect me from "having our warranty voided". 2 problems with this: 1) We don't have a warranty. 2) The attendant had not asked me the mileage on the vehicle. This place is consistently good. The employees are honest, friendly, and trustworthy. They never try to upsell me on anything unnecessary. It's also usually very quick! The other great thing is that they're right next to a tire shop so you can get a rotation or repair done while you get your oil changed. In fact, today they checked on a small leak in a tire, then removed the nail and patched it up in no time! read more

Today GM Ian and his crew likely saved me from needing an entire new car. I had a check engine light and told them I knew I need new injectors. After the oil change a secondary oil pressure light came on. They explained in detail their process and that they were concerned the previous check engine light was linked. They then asked if I agreed for them to ask a mechanic from the shop next door to come over - the shop next door is a tire shop and I would not have thought to ask them. In the end I left my car at the tire shop and Ian gave me a ride home in his personal car to ensure my safety instead of walking over a busy bridge. They have my business forever. read more

I was always such a good customer to Grease Monkey. I work at Parkway across the way, and it was so nice and convenient to be able to drop off my car and head to work and pick up when it was ready. Never had any problems, all the guys there have always been kind and did good work. However. I was there end of April and I will say, that is the LAST time I will be giving them my money. I had asked them for an oil change and to change the fluid in the front and rear differentials. Nothing too crazy , right? Apparently so... only a week after my initial appointment my rear differential started going bad brought it back and they supposedly redid the fluid change, no change. I never ever had these problems before this appointment. My car is aged, but in great condition. After endless research, many many phone calls and a few shops later, finally found a shop who could get in there and they found at least a quart of water in my differential!! I was sent a video for proof. No no no no! How did that happen?? No evidence to prove how the water got in there. When I was asked if I drive in lakes I was in so much shock and confusion because I, in fact, do not drive in lakes. The water caused rust in the pinion bearing resulting in a $2400 fix! Ugh, and to top it off... a couple weeks after that, oil change light comes on! I check my dip stick and the oil is below the safe line! After 3 weeks???? (Mind you, I was out of a car for a week while the differential was getting fixed) so there's no way I burned through that much oil in 3 weeeks. And there's no sign of a leak. What did you guys do for the few hours my car was there?! Have had many conversations with friends, family, and customers at the restaurant and they all agree that Grease Monkey messed something up for sure. I wasn't impressed with the level of service that I experienced at this location. I waited a long time to have the oil changed on my car. The estimated time they gave to have my oil change was inaccurate. I probably waited about 40 minutes and the estimated wait time was about 25 minutes. They also didn't place the shroud on my air filter properly. I drove away and clearly heard the abnormal noise coming from the air filter. When I brought it back and the technician looked at it I clearly saw that the shroud wasn't seated properly. Yesterday I checked my oil when fueling up at a gas station. The oil dipstick was bone dry. This is only after less than a week that the oil was changed by staff at this location. When I called to speak to a manager he put me on hold without telling me. When I asked why I was put on hold without telling me he told me that he had six other things going on at one time. He also offered a fragile excuse for why the level of oil was so low on my car. I realize conventional motor oils burn faster but not to the extent that I experienced. ***Update*** 7.10.17 I spoke to the Regional Manager on the phone today. He was very professional and apologetic. He took the time to speak with me and listen which is very important. He knows the importance of customer service! He made amends regarding this situation and has done the right thing to keep me as a customer. Kudos to him! in my 30 years paying for oil changes, this was the first time that someone forgot to a reminder sticker on the car. Of course when they forget something you can see you have to be concerned about them forgetting stuff you can't. Worse customer service ever, will never come back here. The only reason I came back this time was to have them fix the oil plug that they broke the last time. I dropped off the car and explained to the guy that there was a temporary plug in because they broke it the last time and that they told me that they had to order the replacement part, to come in at the next oil change and they wld fix it. While they checked me out, I asked them if the permanent plug was in, guy was clueless, went to check, came back and asked me if they had broke it previously? Duh, that's what I told the guy. What, trying to charge me? Told me if I wanted it fixed, it wld be another 30 mins, no apologies. The time they broke the plug, they told me they wld have to go across the street to get the part. They came back out and didn't say anything, I asked and they said, oh, they don't have the part in stock, we had to put a temporary plug in, didn't bother to tell me shit until I asked. Told me that they wld order the part and I wld have to come back. I asked when, they said next week or the next oil change. I asked, is it critical for me to have it done next week or the next oil change, the guy was all confused. What the hell kind of service is that? Every time I'm here, I'm stuck here for at least 30 mins, even when there's no wait. As I sit here for almost an hour now, writing this review. Don't ever take your car here!!! Just checked out, asked again to make sure they put in the permanent plug and indicated that I was unhappy with the service, guy at the counter asked who checked my car in, I told him and he said, oh that guy, he's not the sharpest, we are thinking of letting him go. If you told someone else, your car wld of been fixed. So, what, am I suppose to tell another person incase the first one isn't doing his job? Talk about unprofessional, and of course still no apologies, just excuses and throwing his co worker under the bus. A month later...oil has been leaking for a few weeks now, the Monkeys at Grease Monkey did a real job on my car, now wasting even more time trying to get it fixed. This is bullshit!!! read more

Took both cars in on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, it was busy, as usually weekends are. They were moving quickly to get through the cars. The only bad thing I have to say was the customer service was very poor. It appeared the manager that day was having a really bad day. He was very rude to customer after customer. I actually felt bad for him, because I felt there must have been something else that was making his day so horrible. When a new car would pull in, he would let out a heavy sigh and express disappointment that they had yet another car to work on. I just think you should be prepared to get very busy on the weekends, and there is not much you can do to change that. Other than the customer service, the experience was good. They quickly got us taken care of. My very dirty cars, with 3 kids, had beautiful carpets afterwards. No fresh flowers or review card left in the vehicle. Not sure if the process has changed. Service was fairly quick and the staff was nice. However, their prices are above average for the service provided. I got my oil changed, cabin air filter changed, and a fuel injector service for over $150. I expected all my fluids to be topped off and a thorough inspection of the vehicle for that price and both were not completed. read more

Well I was there today 12/14/18 and they are under new management with a 20 year veteran of the company. I brought my 2002 white Corvette to them and they did a great job with the car as well as customer service they were very accommodating. I was very impressed by their team! All really great people! I use Grease Monkey quite a bit on company trucks etc. This location, however, is being run by the kind of people it's best to avoid. They pulled the wool over on my wife pretty badly and when I took a company truck in they attempted the same with me. Do yourself a favor and go to the Parker location on Jordon, or pretty much anywhere but here. These are the guys that make mechanics look bad. Lying through their teeth to get extra work out of you. I used to work in R&D engineering at Chrysler Corp in Detroit...and I'm driving a vehicle I helped design. I am quite certain I understand more about how every system in that vehicle works than any of the teenagers changing my oil. And not only were their assertions of problems in my axles not true...the Grease Monkey in Parker laughed when they saw it 30 min later (if someone is trying to rip you off....just leave and go elsewhere). read more

I had come in for a oil change. When I pulled up the guy had asked me if I wanted the same services as last time and I responded I did. I paid $46 for my last oil change and this time they decided to charge me $81. It upsets me that they can charge what they want even though you requested the same services as last time. I also noticed they charge a dollar to top off each fluid. I honestly have never had any terrible experience at Grease Monkey and I will make the trip to drive to the one on Buckley and Mexico for my next service, since they seem to be the most constant location and service provided. read more

First, my wife's vehicle was returned reeking of marijuana. I understand that we live in Colorado and marijuana is everywhere and very well may be related to the more important issues below. I spoke with Mike the manager and he questioned the lube techs and they all insist that they don't smoke marijuana on the job. Mike thinks the smell got into the car from either another customer in the store or somebody walking by the shop smoking weed. I find this explanation highly unlikely, but who knows. More importantly, they put my wife's air filter in backwards, which means all the dirt in the filter got sucked into the engine. We planned to keep the car until it dies and there is no way to really determine how much engine damage has been done by the dirt that's been sucked into the motor. This is really unfortunate as this my wife's first brand new car. Additionally, they put the cabin air filter in improperly, which ruined that filter, so now I have to replace a perfectly good filter. I'm not sure if these mistakes were deliberate, due to massive incompetence or working while impaired. Grease Monkey has since given me two new air filters at no cost. I'll put them in myself. Not really worth it, but I'll give Mike props for at least attempting to make it right. read more

If you're looking for a place to do a transmission flush - DO NOT COME HERE! Back in 2006 I did a Transmission flush on a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck, and 3 days later the Transmission completely failed. They claimed that the damage was already there and the flush may have accelerated the damage to my torque converter due to the alleged pre-existing damage, which didn't make any sense because it was a NEW replacement transmission with 10k miles on it at the time. This repair cost me 3000 grand for a new torque converter plus labor. Then in 2014 I went to this location again for a transmission flush on a 2005 Kia Amanti, and 3 months later THAT transmission ALSO FAILED! I tried for weeks to get ahold of the owner of that Grease Monkey, he never returned my calls regarding that flush and he made the same claim he made about my truck. I never allowed my vehicles to fall outside their proper maintenance schedule, and BOTH times the mechanic said that there was an insufficient amount of transmission fluid and they said that the fluid was dirty, even though it was supposed to be flushed. Both times they said the transmission failed because of overheating due to an improper amount of fluid. That transmission repair cost me 3200 dollars - 600 for the salvaged part and the rest for labor. The old manager's name I think was Mike, but I could be mistaken. I read some of the comments prior to posting this and it appears there may be a new manager that works there now, but it doesn't change how I feel about this particular location. I will never go here for another transmission flush. It just doesn't feel coincidental that both of my transmissions failed miraculously within a short period of time after getting transmission service here. I think the service was very low quality. The times that I called them some kid answered and gave me a canned response, so I figured it wouldn't be worth my time to bother, but I decided to leave a review to warn others to stay away! You might pay a little more at some of the other places, but I would NEVER recommend these smaller oil change franchises; I've seen documentaries of them ripping people off, reusing worn parts, recycling fluids and repainting oil filters - it's sad you can't trust these places anymore. Also, because of the damage they did to my oil plug with their air tools, they refused to touch my KIA when I took it to Walmart after waiting an entire hour for someone to change the oil, eventually the oil plug broke when I took it to a local place, to which they said was because of stripped threads that were already there, but they were nice enough to fix it at their own expense anyways. read more

In the past year that I've been coming here with my Suzuki SX4, I've only experienced quick and friendly service. I never get hassled to add on any additional services, which I appreciate because other mechanics have tried to scam me more times than I can count. And even though I could easily change my own oil at home, the nice staff and convenience of coming here makes it worth the time and money. read more

This review is long and way over due but here it goes. I am a Disabled Combat Veteran whom road tripped it with my 11 year old daughter and my service dog to Colorado from California so we can attend my loved ones wedding in the mountains, as well as to to visit family. The road trip ended up being one of those semi nightmares with when on the morning of the 4th of July, the female manager from the lodge we stayed at and paid for to stay for the wedding, The Lone Eagle Lodge in Grand Lake, threatened to kick me and put me and my daughter out on the streets as well as not giving a refund over the difference paid, reasoning that my legally protected and properly registered service dog with supporting papers was a pet, despite him clearly not. As well as them taking out $250 from my bank account and my having called the Grand Lake Sheriff Department over the situation, that morning more problems with the battery, car not starting.Triple AAA was called, back on the road to next destination in Colorado, pop, my tire blows out on the interstate. Triple AAA came, towing the car and us up in the tow truck drivers cab, while at the same time being mindful about being thankful for what we were able to enjoy and see is also being worked out despite the hardships. So this is where Grease Monkey #878 steps in. Richard Jurgens, went above and beyond, when he having learned about all that hot mess having happened, the financial situation now for what it is, seeing for himself the damage, morale kinda low, got me a new battery on his OWN DIME, installed it, and, he referred me personally to the tire business next door to help me with financing of the new tires needed so that the three of us would get safely back home. As other reviewer said, this place is terrible. I thought I would give it a try since it's close to my house and I didn't have time to take my car to a dealership I usually go to. For a quick lube place, what they charge for basic oil change is way too high. I was quoted $45. I pay $45 for oil change at the dealership I usually take my car to. Here's the worst thing... They tried to take advantage of me. As they began working on my car, one of the techs (I believe his name was Chance) came out and informed me that there's an issue. He said that they couldn't take the drain plug off, telling me that the drain plug was so tight that it didn't turn with a wrench, and when it happens there's usually (he said 9 out of 10 times) an issue with it in their words. He said they could use a temporary plug (or seal or whatever he said) so that oil doesn't leak but he insisted that he believes there's a problem. I told him that I've taken my car to different shops and it has never been a problem, and that I don't believe this "issue" would come up overnight or in a couple of months since last maintenance. When I said that, he was like "other shops wouldn't tell you this kind of issue because they don't need to, and I'm telling you that there's an issue." So I told him that they don't need to work on my car and I'm taking my car to the dealership I go to. So I took my car back and went home. A couple of days later, I took my car to the dealership and had them work on my car. When it was done, I asked a service writer at the dealership if their techs had any problems with oils change or if they saw any issues while working on my car. She said no and there's nothing wrong with your drain plug whatsoever. So, unless you want to spend $45 for a quick oil change and to be taken advantage of, I wouldn't even bother to take your car to this place. This place is a joke. read more
