Four stars for this casual restaurant that appears quite popular. Due to its excellent reviews, we selected it while in town for the Hyde Park Fine Arts Festival. This particular eatery serves breakfast all day. Lunch/Dinner is served after 11AM weekdays & after 1 PM on Sat & Sun. Regular business hours are 8 AM till 8 PM every day but Sunday (when the restaurant opens @ 9 AM). There are NO RESERVATIONS allowed. Patrons will likely encounter a line prior to ordering. Unfortunately, there's just one open register, but the line moves rather fast. There is a full wall menu behind the cashier as well as individual menus beside him/her. Upon payment, diners are handed a numerical table marker; the prepared food is brought to the table. While we ate, there was a young woman washing down tables; she stated that she spoke no English. I drew the outline of a box & pointed to my leftovers; we communicated beautifully. Anytime diners left their tables, she was quick to spray down each table w/ a Windex-like cleaner. OUR TWO ENTRÉES TASTED FRESH-- SEE PICS! The Avocado Egg Salad on thick, multi-grain toast was HEAVENLY! At $11, I will order it the next time I stop in. The Bubba Cluck @ $14 was different & very flavorful w/ its maple & bacon glaze. Lots of carbs, so only the leftover eggs & chicken went home w/ me. SIDES include: cheese grits, potatoes, Tots, fruit, & salad. For an additional $2, patrons may order Sweet Potato Fries w/ a cinnamon-ginger drizzle. The two-sided menu is compact, but eclectic. This place you will need to order and pay first and take a number to your table. A server will bring the food to your table when it is ready. The mimosas are great, mostly champagne with a splash of orange juice. The smoked salmon tartine was an excellent breakfast choice with a nice amount of salmon and pickled red onion to provide some body to the tartine. The side salad was tossed in a nice lite vinaigrette topped with pumpkin seeds. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy too. Was it me or a bad day? After reading some great reviews, I was somewhat let down by the food. I really wanted to feast but it missed the spot for me. The Chicken sando lacked a crunch and was just warm not juicy hot like I'd expect even from PDQ next door. The kitchen wasn't busy since the dining room was light at the end of any lunch rush with a handful of folks dining so I really don't know why the sandwich was a miss temperature wise. I doubt getting it spicy would have helped. Flavors were lacking, even the pickles didn't give it a needed punch. It could've benefited from a bit more sauce but the bun was nice. The sweet potato fries were good but not mind blowing. Again they were cool and softer with some sugar glazing on top. The smoked salmon tartine needed more salmon and prefer it thinly sliced than presented. The BLT had real crisp bacon I was told and not in the best way. We were hungry so we ate and left. Can't say this was a highlight of my day nor will our experience prompt us to return anytime soon. read more

Well, I'm about to hit 30 and I feel like my age is starting to show. This place is far too hip for me. It reminds me of a smaller, more colorful Oxford Exchange. Black and white marble-looking floors and tables with quilted cushion benches. When it's full of people like it was today, it gets very loud but as people started heading out, it wasn't too bad. I know my parents would have a hard time hearing here. 12PM on a Sunday was crazy - can't find a place to sit kind of crazy. 1PM it started to die down and be so much better. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly. So, let's get to the food. It was probably going to be a one-time thing for me but the food is SO GOOD. We will certainly be back. They managed to make a kids' quesadilla surprisingly extra delicious. I got the Ray-Ray's BLT, which had amazing bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and whatever sauce they put on was so creamy and flavorful. Located on Dale Mabry, traffic may be terrible and parking is limited, but you are rewarded with really solid food and a good atmosphere. I got the Lox and Bagel and a side of roasted potatoes and it was delicious. The herbed cream cheese had a nice freshness to it and it went perfectly with the pickled onions and mound of smoked salmon. The potatoes had a nice crispy edge to them while being soft and tender on the inside. The roasted peppers and onions provided that extra layer of savory goodness. I got the create your own egg bowl and found it pretty tasty. They have sandwiches that come in a pretty big portion as well as other items. The service is relatively fast and the people are friendly. The patrons don't have to wear masks but you can spread out nicely if it's not packed. We walked right in to order at the counter-- plenty of cute indoor seating, with limited outdoor seating. Wait time was a bit long after we had ordered, but the food was worth it. We had the parfait tartine, the roasted tomato tartine (the black pepper ricotta on this was *chef's kiss*), and a build-your-own veggie bowl with roasted peppers and onions, shiitake mushrooms, and roasted broccoli. Another "tip me for doing nothing place" where you order your food, get a number and go sit down and they bring it to you, eventually. And then after waiting for my food and being physically bumped a number of times because the open table seating is next to the "line area", I opted to leave the crazy busy, incredibly loud, atmosphere with the rest of my underwhelming burrito, which ultimately was thrown away because it was not very good to begin with. I've been going to Graze for years. We came with my 2 y/o and 4 y/o because historically this has been a family friendly place. We grabbed an empty table and an employee rudely came up to us and said we couldn't take a table because we hadn't yet ordered. This has never been an issue before and has always been a seat yourself place. We left and will never go back. If the employee had explained the change in rules politely, maybe we would've stayed.
