Yesterday I brought my kids for a Saturday morning breakfast. This was Graze's first weekend after their reopening this past Wednesday, so I want to start off by saying that I realize they are just getting back into the swing of things. First off, this is such an inviting, cozy little spot in a beautiful historic building on Main and the girl running the front counter was very sweet. My sons and I assumed the only food available was what's put out in the display cases. They do not include other food items on their menu board. That being said, we each ordered a caramel cinnamon roll. I ordered a hot chai latte (delicious!), my eldest ordered a hot macchiato (very good), and my youngest a hot chocolate (a bit on the watery side...not much flavor). Had their full menu been visibly displayed, my two hungry teenagers would have definitely chosen something else. After ordering, we sat at an available table and waited for our cinnamon rolls. They were brought to our table in a few short minutes. I assumed since we were "dining in" that they would have warmed the rolls prior to serving, but they came out room-temperature making them a little on the dry/hardened side. I'm sure we could have sent them back asking that they be warmed, but we didn't want to be a bother as there was now a short line of customers waiting to be served. They still tasted good and I'm sure they'd be delicious warmed up and maybe a little larger in size. Regardless, I'm happy Graze 1885 has reopened its doors! It's so nice to have another alternative for breakfast / lunch downtown. My only suggestions would be to 1) ask the customer if they would like their food warmed up, 2) consider an alternative way to display the full menu...a digital menu board that can be updated as needed would look very nice. Oh and placement of a customer-accessible trash receptacle would be great! I look forward to frequenting Graze in the future. :) read more

Today Lynette and I stopped at Graze 1885 in Vinccenes, Indiana. It's located in a very picturesque spot at the end of the historic main street and overlooking the George Rodgers Clark Memorial. The town itself is really cool and worth a visit. Founded in 1772. The restaurant is located in an old storefront and very nicely decorated. The have specialty coffees and fresh baked goodies. They also have meals. Lynette had chicken salad and a side salad. Very nicely done and delicious. I had the french dip with potato salad and chips. The sandwich comes looking like a wrap in appearance but it's because they use skinny baguettes and wrap them in paper. It was plenty big enough and served with a very nice gravy. The potato salad was homemade as were the chips. Both were phenomenal. For dessert were shared 2 muffins. Lemon poppyseed and orange blossom. Both were awesome, and moist. This is definitely worth stopping for. read more

I had placed an online order for pick up during lunchtime. I ordered many sandwiches and and a dozen cinnamon rolls, as this was an option on the website. When I arrived they had ran out of their potato salad and had came out and politely told me. This was no big deal as they had a different type of potato salad to substitute. I was handed all my food and started to walk out. I noticed that maybe I didn't have everything. I asked the ladies at the counter if my pastries were in the bags and she states "no, I have not bagged anything up yet." She asked how many I ordered and I said 12. She looked at the case and said they only had 5 available. They substituted my cinnamon roll order for other pastries that were in the case. After I got back and delivered the food we also were missing a sandwich and sides. I am not one to leave bad reviews and I was so glad when Graze reopened theirs doors but this experience was not the best. I hope this comes across as constructive criticism and helps Graze improve. read more

Three floors to enjoy overlooking the town while you are enjoying your breakfast or lunch. They only have one soup. I really wanted to do half sand half soup but not an option. The white mocha coffee was tasty. They have so many different milk options for all of your dietary requirements. read more

After hiking and viewing museums on the west side of the state, I was hungry and decided to give Graze 1885 at try. This restored building is very cool with multiple rooms for dining including above the main entrance. With free street parking out front, I was able to grab a spot and proceed to order at the long side of the L-shaped counter (pastries are displayed on the short side facing the door.) I decided to go with a Reuben sandwich that comes with potato salad and chips (odd combo). I also ordered a Peachberry Crumble from the pastry side while waiting and an iced Pekoe Tea. They have utensils on a display at the far end of the counter. The crumble was a perfect blend of berries and peach flavors and was more of a "bar" than a crumble since it held together nicely. Great taste. The Pekoe Tea was refreshing and just hit the spot after all that walking! Before long, one of the staff brought out my plate and additional utensils and napkins. The Reuben was huge! It came on diagonally slice marble rye and the sauerkraut was pickled with a tangy tart flavor. Really good, but I decided to save half of it for later. The potato salad serving was rather small, but it was delicious. Just a bit of crunch on the potatoes (not sure what they did, but it was good!) The chips were lightly seasoned and were tasty (not just salt). Nice crispy crunch there too! I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the meal and liked that even in the hours after normal lunch, they were still having folks drop in. (Note that they stop serving lunch at 3.) What a lovey little cafe! We stopped after our visit to the George Rogers Clark Memorial which is easy, walking distance to this establishment. We enjoyed our Signature Chicken Sandwich, Farmhouse Salad and that they had a separate kids menu for the pickier little one with us. I visited this place while I was there for the New Years Eve Watermelon Drop. The first thing I noticed was that the staff was super friendly. I just got some sweets to satisfy my sweet tooth and they were delicious. You must try the turtle brownie. It is awesome. They also serve coffee and have a wine bar upstairs. The atmosphere was amazing and the place had a good vibe. I will admit the the prices are a bit on the high side, but you get what you pay for. There is ample parking on the street and at the park nearby. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

What an awesome use of an old warehouse building in a downtown district. Great atmosphere with free WiFi. Great menu selections. My rueben was delicious and homemade chips great. Three different levels to sit so if you have difficulty with stairs there is not an elevator. There is wine bar but was closed on my visit. Too bad I am only in town for the afternoon. read more

We moved to the area from New Orleans about 2 years ago, and are SO excited to finally have a good coffee and pastry place in town! It's gorgeous inside, sparkling clean, and the staff was incredibly nice (and very patient and kind with our excited 3 and 5 year old). We got a variety of things - croissants, cinnamon rolls, cookies, lattes - and it was all delicious! We came for coffees and a couple snacks. The baked good are phenomenal. We had a Caramel Apple Crumble Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake and Blueberry White Chocolate Cheesecake. What a wonderful place to experience! A much needed place for socializing, coffee, lunch, wine, and beyond. Thanks for bringing this place to our home town. Let's start with the atmosphere, it's contemporary, classy, and plenty of room to bring in big groups, or come in solo and grab a cup of coffee and work. There are 3 floors that flow very well and open up nicely. The location downtown is perfect with lots of parking and a view of the National Park and next to the river walk. I'm sure we will enjoy this place for years to come. I will post my food reviews in my pictures. Breakfast is for the sweet tooth. Lunch is fresh, flavor able, and simple. Stick around all day and enjoy a local beer or a glass of wine. Go here for sure if you are in he area and looking for a local flare and a local owner who cares about customer service. The service was outstanding! Now to the food. I've been twice and both times the food was perfect. I had the keto salad which not only tasted amazing, but the presentation was top notch. It looked too good to eat, but I did. The chicken sandwich was great and the mango tea was really good. The second time I had the chicken Caesar wrap and again, it was delicious! This is great place. They have an awesome variety of bake goods, sandwiches. I personally adore the Lux ! I love that they serve barista level coffees as well. My only drawback is that the place do not enforce mask-wearing. I was inline with a family where the father did not wear mask while the rest of the occupants were wearing masks. I am disappointed about this, so I will only come in when my dire need of espresso surfaces. Else I will buy my espresso shots from Walmart instead. read more

First time visitors, and we will he back. I had a rueben with chips and potato salad. My wife had a ham and cheese with chips. My rueben was excellent. The chips are made in house and were perfectly crunchy with a nice salt and pepper flavor. The potato salad wasn't typical, but it was magnificent. It had ranch and bacon and was delicious! We also got some cookies and coffee. Everything was made to order and tasted great. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars was portion size. The grilled cheese had havarti cheese, a tomato slice, and one slice of ham. For the price, I think it should have had more than a single slice of ham (and it was deli sliced, not thick-sliced). Also, the potato salad was supposed to be a side, but it was the size of a small cookie scoop. As a side item, it should have been bigger. I understand the mark up in a small diner can be higher, but our ingredients weren't exotic, and I expected the portions to be bigger. Otherwise, it was outstanding. I spent more than $15 on a salad. No meat. Very few berries and cheese that had likely been measured in a thimble. Very disappointin.
