my family and I have eaten here before and I chose to eat there again because I wanted a steak. so a ribeye was ordered, our plates were brought out in a short time. my friend noticed the meat had a different taste, I took a bite and it was a pork steak, not a ribeye. it was very thin, tough to chew, hasn't been near a cow because it was a hog. the waitress came by asking if everything was ok, we pointed out the problem. she offered to get us something else but we refused. she even said others had complained about the "steak". that should be a turning point to the person who orders for the kitchen. don't advertise in the menu that you have a steak and serve a cheap piece of leather. read more

So many great things about this place. The first thing I noticed was that they served Pepsi products and even had diet Mt. Dew which is my favorite! The selection of food is outstanding with things from breakfast to lunch and dinner. We had dinner on our visit today with nice portions and the tastiest grilled Tilapia I've ever had. The salad bar was a little small but had enough items to make a good salad. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us several times. The restaurant was homie and nicely decorated and thing from the floor to the unused tables were clean and plenty of space. This is going to be one of my go to places when I'm in town. read more

In town for a business event, and me and my colleague decided to stop by for a quick bite to eat. We wanted to try some place new, and this place looked inviting. My colleague got the Appetizer Combo (Courtesy of Gordon Food Services) and said it was less than okay. I ordered the Philly Burger, which was great except for the atrocious, most god awful pickle slices I think I have ever eaten in my entire life. I feel like I'm going to be sick after eating them! Nothing can describe the taste, they weren't dill, they weren't sweet, they were sweat infused. No flavor at all. Thank god they were served on the side, because those things are a health hazard! Second time we went to Benjy's upon visiting Washington. Disappointed they didn't have the Reuben sandwich anymore . But we had the Shrimp Baskets, and we were not disappointed!! The chicken noodle soup was ok and the pork tenderloin sandwich was good but not great. the worst thing was the air conditoning was not working and it was about 90 degrees inside. Oh man, talk about a great small town breakfast spot. I'd eat here everyday if I lived close! My husband and I were traveling back to Indy when we saw this and couldn't wait to try it. It was a small little diner, but had lots of seating. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. The waitress we had was very friendly and did a great job. You could tell this was a spot with a lot of regulars, which made it that much better. The food came out super fast and was so good! I had the Waffle and more meal. Regular breakfast comfort food, nothing fancy. Fluffy pancakes, great hash browns, biscuits and gravy. The server was efficient and friendly. The inside was clean and decorated nicely. The bathrooms were small and smelled of sewer gas. There are not a lot of options in Washington and this is a good one. read more

Great local diner that my family and I have enjoyed several times when visiting in the area. Our go to meals here are breakfast and have tried the basics; skillets, eggs and bacon, eggs and sausage, eggs with ham, French toast, biscuits and gravy and omelettes. The servers are very attentive and efficient especially when the place is busy which it usually was at breakfast. They recently expanded the dining room which is great considering the year we just endured in 2020. Everything we have had was excellent and very tasty with one exception and that was a personal preference. The breakfast dishes are outstanding and we have tried a lot of them, think the ham and cheese omelette with German fries might be my favorite but there is a lot to really like here. I did try the phillysteak sandwich with regular fries one time and while the steak sandwich was delicious I did not care for the fries (they were hot and fresh but they were the battered fries and I prefer regular old fries personally) but my wife and daughter ate them without hesitation. I think you can get the German or American fries (chopped potatoes with or without onions; basically a local dish of homemade hash browns) with just about anything to substitute for the French fries so I would just go with one of those options in the future if I get a sandwich. My daughter and husband have also eaten here several times for lunch and dinner and said that they have really enjoyed it every time so Benjys is a great dining option regardless of the time of day. Fast and very friendly service. Nice place. We went for lunch and ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was mediocre and literally only had 4 pieces of sausage in it and no seasoning to speak if. Also ordered a serving of bacon which was served crispy and had four generous slices. Bacon was great. I suggest they use a lot more sausage in the gravy even if they have to charge more. The good tea and friendly service made up for the gravy, and we will definitely go back and try it again for lunch type items. Lots of items on menu. Recommend. read more

Me and my family, especially my kids love to go here for breakfast. They have good old fashioned American dishes for a fair price and great service. I come here as often as I can for the breakfast. The atmosphere is inviting and in one corner is what I would call the liars bench. It's where the regulars gather and share stories and opinions. I love to sit, eat my breakfast, and watch and listen as they share and break bread. We have never been dissapointed with anything that we have ordered.
