    Round one of two.

I'm a school bus and while my school's football team was up here from Evansville I found this terrific spot. The food is outstanding!!!! The ribs are tender and tasty, the brisket done to perfection and pulled pork and chicken savory. For a buffet the service was nice. They never let the empty plates stack up and even offered to fitch my dessert. I had the blackberry cobbler which was heavenly. The decor is pleasant and relaxing with several interesting collectables. Can't wait for my next trip up here either in my bus or with the family.

Always fresh food, and friendly staff. They have the best pies with quite the variety, included in the price.

We love the quality of food, the service, and the surroundings. However, don't plan to go on Wednesday or Sunday.

Not the down home style I thought it would be, I tried the brisket meal w/green beans and mashed potatoes. Portions was small.

This place is my absolute favorite place. There apple butter is the best and I love the fried chicken and baked beans.

I would've given a five star review but the service was very slow and 2 stars at best. It could have been more prompt and efficient. We waited for seven minutes before our first acknowledgement by our waiter/ server. It was just my girlfriend and myself. Once the waiter finally came to the table and took our order a lot time had lapse. Never once did come to ask how the food was once our main entrée was delivered. He asked how everything was when he presented the check. During the wait for him to return to the table to take our dessert order, there was a bus boy at the nearby table clearing another table. I asked him to take a plate that was left on our table and he said that the servers job I don't do that. I told him no you need to take it now and he gave me a rather rude look and stare. The intervals from which the waiter came back to the table was very long. It would've helped if the chairs had been padded but they were hard with like school room chairs. The dining room was decorated very nice and the decor and artwork is very tasteful. Music was a little loud. The food was exceptionally good from the appetizer to the main course to our dessert. It was exceptional. That is five stars ONLY - The service really was a lot to be desired for a good tip and review.

He is a culinary professor at the local university and she runs a great restaurant. The salad was great lots of fresh ingredients and dressing. The corn crab chowder was excellent perfect combination. Best soup they have in my opinion it belongs in the flavor town Hall of Fame. And the lemon blueberry cheesecake did not disappoint homemade lemon curd, whipped cream, nice flaky crust, and very good flavor profiles blend it all together. Very quiet and nice dining room lots of seating and the service was great. Tuck, away in downtown just a few miles off the highway with your detour if you're out and about.

This being a soup-salad-sandwich place, I had a half-sandwich with soup. The famous crab-corn chowder was just okay--I didn't really taste any crab in the broth, just some strands of loose imitation crab. I found it thicker than a usual bisque sort of soup: although that's reasonable by clam chowder standards, this broth didn't quite taste like anything. I also found the sandwich nondescript--the hard-boiled egg was nice, but the ham, cheese, and pita all seemed premade, and their combination didn't seem to add anything.
