Today I had a hamburger with bacon. I forgot to take a picture and their homemade french fries are great. I ordered those as well perfectly seasoned with horse sea salt. The hamburger is ground fresh every day and they even make their own bacon. They have other great side dishes. The service is great. The employees are very friendly and professional and actually come around and check on you in the dining room. The building is really old and unique with exposed brick walls and pictures and art of local artist for sale. Great place to try only open Monday through Friday for lunch and Friday for dinner. read more

Great atmosphere and great food. This place is small but has such a good vibe. From the chef to the cashier and prep guy they are all very friendly and talkative I feel like they knew everyone that walked in the door. I had the sweet beef sandwich with sauce very good the sweet peppers make this sandwich. My husband had the western burger and loved it. The fries are fresh and hand cut there very good and crisp. Went for lunch on Tuesday, got a bacon cheeseburger, hand cut French fries, and Mac and cheese. Let me tell you, they know what they are doing. Everything fresh, handmade, and delicious. They make their own bacon and roast whole turkeys. The owners were there and making the food. We stopped here for lunch after touring the George Rodgers Clark National Park. It is a small diner in downtown that was packed for lunch. The place was warm and inviting and some locals even invited us to sit with them and eat because all the tables were full. I had the Italian beef sandwich (soaked) and the loaded potato salad. The sandwich was excellent, the bun was soaked from the au jus. The potato salad was unlike any I have had and I really enjoyed it. By pushing at the local CVB for better information on local eateries that weren't members, they casually mentioned this smokehouse with one of the best burgers I've had in the region. They grind their own Indiana grown beef into a nice sized patty. They recommended the Chupacabra which featured fried jalapenos and a creamy house made sauce from cotija cheese, softening the heat. A nice little texture to a well-made burger. Fries are also housemade. Great gem of a place. read more
