We've used Grayzer Electric twice within the past year. The first time was to install several recessed ceiling lights and most recently to install a new Tesla wall charger in our garage. Both times we were very happy with the results. Communication was beyond excellent. The technicians were prompt and professional. In fact, when the Tesla charger was installed, we had the City of Austin come by and inspect it. As expected, the work passed without issue. He fixed it just in time for the family coming to town- this is now the 2nd time he has saved the day due to his expertise with electrical work. Max and team came and installed two ceiling fans into bedrooms and did a phenomenal job. i also wanted a horrid florescent light in a closet removed, and after they did that so quickly, I asked them to remove a second one in our laundry room. Max even tightened an existing ceiling fan that was wobbling downstairs, and had all of this done in two hours. Could you find a handyman with electrical experience to do the job a little cheaper? Probably. But with Max we have super high quality work, all their work under warranty, and most importantly, piece of mind. I will gladly pay for that. read more

Very impressed with Grayzer! They were very patient with my many questions via email communications, and I learned a lot in the process. Always very prompt in their responses. The work included ceiling fan installations, new canned lighting, new ballasts for existing, fluorescent lighting and a few other minor needs. Fair pricing. Victor, the technician was super! Very clear communications! He wanted to get everything just right, he was very thorough with his work and the billing details, he asked good questions to understand exactly what I wanted as well as making great suggestions for things I wasn't sure about... like where to put the new switches. Well, I guess the 5-star review streak had to end sometime. Just got off the phone with Grayzer. The girl literally talked their company out of a job. Apparently, they don't want to come out and give estimates, so face-to-face is no longer a thing with them. The girl who answered the phone expected me to have all of this expertise about circuits and amperage and distance from the electrical boxes--which depends on BEST recommendations from THEM. I needed to talk to an expert, or I'd just do it myself. Duh, right? Looks like a growing company, so I wonder if you'll be reading more reviews like mine. Not a good experience. Owner came on and posted damage control, but that just reinforces my negative experience. At least he admitted that face-to-face with the little residential guy is no longer a value they adhere to. The problem remains that I don't have the expertise to know exactly what I need to provide that information over the phone to the girl who answered the phone. I just know I want work done, and I have some money to pay for it. Ask me about the $700 plumbing quote. I hit the learning curve, did the work myself for $30 and a trip to Home Depot. It's becoming a negative experience trying to get companies today to work for you. read more

Brock was here this morning to install a surge protector and ferrites in my outside power box, replace 3 outdoor lights, install a motion sensor switch in my garage, and fix my kitchen overhead light. He did a great job AND took all the recyclable stuff, trash and old ratty fixtures with him to recycle at the shop. I love it when someone comes to install/fix something and doesn't leave all the trash behind! Great job! Jessica and Megan who handle the scheduling are friendly and thorough, covering details for the work and sending out emails to confirm the work and time. Electrician Victor did an outstanding job. He was prompt, courteous, and thorough as he surveyed the work, discussed options, and installed several lights, ceiling fan and control, and relocated a couple of electrical boxes for us. Looking for an electrical contractor, Grayzer Electric was one of the the contractors chosen after reading many reviews. And I am glad I did. It all started from the first phone call (answered by a person believe it or not). An appointment was made to have their estimator look at the job the next day. He showed up exactly on time, surveyed the job and told me I would have a quote the next day. And I did! Plus the quote was 30% less than the next closest bidder (out of three). They scheduled the work a week out and two electricians (Brock & Todd) arrived right on time and got to work. Very professional, courteous and completed the work quickly (including cleanup) - and the installation looks great. Couldn't be happier with Grayzer Electric. I reached out to Grayzer Electric after I had two different electricians that were assigned to me by my home warranty company just not show up to help me with my kitchen lights that would not turn on. I read the reviews on Yelp and really, I should have started with Grayzer! Everything was so professional with Grayzer, from the email communication to schedule and confirm the appointment to the people I spoke with over the phone. Luckily for me, a team was done early with a job near my house and they called to ask if they could come help me today (a day after I put in my request, and two weeks sooner than my scheduled appointment). Our bedroom built-in cabinet lights went out and I replaced them with LED, which caused flickering to happen. Called Grayzer, first time customer, and the scheduling was easy, with all the great reviews I decided they were worth the wait, it was a week before they could come out. But once at our home, they troubleshot the issue and fixed it so my lights stopped flickering and all working again. The technician was fast and under the expected budget / cost. Very positive experience. Contacted them with a list of possible work. They responded quickly indicating what they could do and recommending other local businesses for some of the other tasks that would be better done by others. Had to wait a few weeks for the appointment but that was ok as none of the work as essential. On the day of the work, we had a 2-hour window for when to expect the technician. Five minutes before the window began we received a call from Victor saying he would be there in 10 minutes. Victor was incredible. He ran into a few problems caused by old construction. In each case he figured out the best solution and explained what he was doing. He was incredibly thorough (when he finished, the screws in the wall plates were all aligned). And the cost was very reasonable considering the time he spent working. Victor rocks! Would definitely use him and Grayzer Electric again. read more

The electrician SPIT CHEWWING TOBACCO ON MY CONDO FLOOR multiple times. Please do your self a favor and never use this company. Unless of course you want an incompetent electrician coming over to attempt to figure out a solution. I show up at the property at the same time the electrician and we shake hands etc. This condo was built in the 1960's so the wiring is a lot different than modern day wiring, but as soon as I open the door he starts freaking out, using very unprofessional presentation, tone, and language , basically demeaning me. I then tell him that we, do indeed know what we need done, and he is more than welcome to stay as long as it takes. Well he goes on still freaking out because he can't figure out why a few outlets aren't working. He test wires to find out nothing of relevance, while spitting tobacco all over my SOCO condo. The only reason I didn't tell him to leave was because I wanted to get the electrical fixed and this is supposedly the best company in Austin according to yelp. He spends 2 3/4 hour there which honestly half the time he wasn't doing anything at all beside being unprofessional. Then I get stuck with a pretty hefty bill for someone to come vandalize my condo, complete nothing AT ALL, and demean myself and my place. Not to mention having to clean up someone's TOBACCO SPITT after all of that. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM GRAYZER read more

Bought a house recently that needed a good amount of work to be done. Grayzer bid the job and we ended up going with a cheaper company, which I ended up regretting. Next job we had that came up--running a new line across the attic and installing a sub panel on the other side of the house, I called Grayzer. They were great, start to finish. I called them up and Jeff could not have been better. He quoted me a much better price than the other 2 companies I called and could come out when I needed. I just needed a simple GFCI outlet installed in my bathroom. He came out and did the work quickly, took less than an hour. He ran into one slight problem when he was cutting out the drywall for the outlet. The first hole was right in front of some pipe, so he had to move a few inches. He patched up the original hole he made and even gave me a discount before I could complain about the problem. That was greatly appreciated, even though I probably wouldn't have cared enough to complain. He also made sure to clean up his mess, you couldn't even tell he was there. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Grayzer and would gladly call Jeff for my next project. :-) read more

Jeff and his team were great! Had them install a few new ceiling fans in our new home, including one in a room that didn't have a ceiling mount pre-installed. He was great, put down drop clothes in each room to help keep our carpets clean. He worked fast, but took time to make sure that each fan was working well, including not vibrating or swinging around. The installer came out on time and did an excellent job on both tasks. He was also very courteous and took great care not to make a mess. I do love finding local companies that live up to my high expectations. After reading the reviews on Yelp I reached out to Grayzer about putting a timer on an outside light for my business. They were always prompt in answering my questions via email and getting an appointment set up. I was told an electrician would be out between 8am -10am. I pulled in at 7:59am and Jim was already there and ready to go! Jim did a fantastic job of explaining to me what was being done and how to operate the timer (now I just need to remember that information...).
