Small and busy for a Wednesday morning but the food was good. Normal diner fare and a friendly staff.

When we got here this place was packed, I thought, how could a restaurant this packed have bad food but I was wrong. We had sat right away and they brought us our coffee however it took them forever to get us refills. I ordered the Black & Blue Burger and it was a good size and came with chips but the meat was very plain and had no taste to it, no seasoning or anything u could barely taste the tomatoes. My grandmother had a cinnamon swirl with sausage patties and the sausage patties were burnt and had no taste as well. The place is very cramped in seating. The service is quick to help out. It was an ok price but not worth the burger I paid for it. I wouldn't come here to order a burger again I can tell u this. read more

Decent diner breakfast. Not amazing, but pretty good. You have to ask if you want actual maple syrup, but it's available for an extra dollar. The hash browns had a slightly odd bitter taste. I think it was the oil. We liked the historic newspapers framed on the walls and the local character. Everything was clean. Came here for New Year's Eve brunch on our drive back. I got the oatmeal with blueberries and a side of peanut butter. Very delicious! It was enough food to fill me up and tasted well. I was very impressed because most diners don't make oatmeal that nice. My friends got the King Burger which they liked a lot. A little greasy and heavy, but that's what they expected. Our waitress was very sweet and service was great -- hot water for our teas were constantly replaced and our food came out well. They also had a Happy New Year placemat which was a really nice touch! read more

Great restaurant! Food and service from the old school! I got a carry out there a few weeks back. Just a simple bacon and egg sandwich and hash browns. It was delicious! Everyone there is so friendly! I sat out on the picnic table and ate it. They had gotten busy so I did not want to go back in and thank them for such a great breakfast. I can't wait till I am back there again soon! First time I was in a restaurant other then the one I work at since March. They pay particular attention to detail on their covid-19 protocols. Great place. Just stop in they sit you down and take your order and give you some good solid breakfast food. I would recommend this highly to anyone in the area looking for a nice breakfast. An amazing time capsule. The walls are covered in old timey memorabilia. Lots of oddball postcards and news clipping from all over the region. The food was perfectly american diner style. My olive burger was clearly made from a hand made patty, and cooked to order. The place was filled with old people, and the air conditioning was frightening cold. Eaten here on and off over the years. Very good breakfasts, for the most part. Only had lunch here once, but the turkey rueben I got was outstanding. Gave up on the place, though, since the coffee was extremely weak. That's enough to ruin an otherwise good breakfast in my book. With the GR having changed hands, I decided to give it another try. Coffee is still not great, but better. It's a bit muddy tasting, but at least it has taste. I ordered the Lumberjack breakfast. Over easy eggs were perfect, and the hash browns I ordered extra crispy were just that. Now the sausage...it didn't taste like, well, sausage. At least not fresh sausage. Just some soggy ground meat with an odd seasoning perhaps meant to cover a slightly soapy taste. Soapy is really the only thing I can call it. I'll be back, but may stick to bacon with my breakfast. read more

I love finding diners like this when we travel and this is one of the best. The interior is squeeky clean and the staff friendly! The omlette of the day was a little odd, but tasted really good. It had Italian sausage, onions, pepper and mushrooms inside and provalone and red sauce on top. The side of cool cottage cheese was a nice change from potatoes. Schweety stuck to the western omlette and this one was just fine. Add rye toast, some cold berverages and we had a quick, hot breakfast. This restaurant is a right of passage stop if you live or are visiting the area. They have done and incredible job at maintaining the "old school diner" feel paired with homecooked and "greasy spoon" food options. They are open early and closed mid afternoon and offer a killer lunch menu in addition to traditional breakfast/brunch items. I have been coming here since I was a toddler, and it hasn't changed. The staff is sweet and quick. Your coffee mug is always full. The food is ordered through a window so you can often times watch the kitchen work and banter with eachother. They have a chalk board painted wall with written specials for the day. The pricing airs on the side of cheap. Parking is curbside and limited but it's located in the historic downtown grayling so that is to be expected and you never walk far. This time my husband got a burger which was incredible, I got the best breakfast burrito I've ever had at a restaurant and our son got French toast even tho I really tried selling him on their famous cinnamon roll pancakes( soooooo good and easy to share) The place is small so if it's a weekend, expect a wait. They have table, booth and bar seating. Just go and thank me later. read more

Best local breakfast for sure. The restaurant is always packed (according to our friend who lives nearby). The price per person is around $8-12, and they serve breakfast and lunch. I ordered cinnamon bites, which were delicious and well worth the price, and a vegetarian skillet with toast. My meal was very filling and, if I may say so, the best at the table. My husband enjoyed his meatier skillet as well, although it came out of the kitchen about five minutes later than the rest of our table's meals. We plan to visit again next time we want breakfast near Harrisville! read more

Went here for breakfast over memorial weekend. Arrived around 8:30, we were able to find a seat easily. Servers were friendly. We ordered 3 dishes biscuits & gravy, western omelette w/American fries , and two eggs/meat/toast. The biscuits and gravy were sent back. They were soggy and flavorless. We ordered a cinnamon role instead which was served warm and was good. The western omelette was good but there was a hair in my American fries. The eggs/meat/toast were also good. Even though the biscuits and gravy were barely eaten, we were still charged for it. This diner is nothing special and I would never go out of my way to eat here again but it did well enough for the purpose of breakfast. read more

Had Breakfast traveling back to Cincinnati. Loved the family style restaurant/diner style ambiance. We were able to seat ourselves right away. Service was very friendly. We had the breakfast sandwich and fruit cup - very good, fruit fresh and tasty. Hubby had the 2 eggs and corn beef hash. He liked it and said he would get it again. Son got a short stack of pancakes that looked good and he ate them all, so that was impressive. Two pancakes the size of a 10" plate. Coffee was weak, but not a big deal for us. Liked it overall and will be back next summer! Great value! read more
