This is an outstanding golf club and restaurant. Friendly people, good food and great music. One of the best in Northern Michigan.

We initially booked Mission Table for our October 2025 wedding and ultimately decided to change our plans due to unforeseen life circumstances. From the beginning, communication was challenging. I had to follow up multiple times on basic planning questions -- like scheduling our ceremony rehearsal -- and often received delayed, vague, or conflicting responses. At one point, we were contacted to provide guest meal choices a full year before the event, which added to our growing concerns about how organized and prepared the team was. Barb, the event director, was difficult to communicate with and came across as unhelpful and inflexible. Madi, who was introduced as our main contact, seemed unaware of key details and unprepared to support us in the way most couples reasonably expect when booking a high-end wedding venue. When we ultimately let them know we'd need to cancel the event (six months in advance), their response was brief and dismissive -- no empathy, no effort to work with us, and no goodwill gesture despite our proactive and respectful communication. Looking back on the entirety of our experience with their team, we honestly feel like we dodged a bullet by not holding our wedding there. The venue is beautiful, and that's what initially drew us in -- but unfortunately, the lack of professionalism, warmth, and basic coordination behind the scenes was not something we felt we could trust with such an important day.

Consistently so delicious and creative. I also like that they let us share (and gave two plates for us both). It was busy and they gave us a seat on the back porch after 20 min or so without previous reservations. We couldn't reach them by phone; so just went in person. Their soups are my favorite thing. I'd bathe in it. This time was celery root and 5 years ago was parsnip. They have the same base of garlic, onion, cream puréed and just know how to do it. Excellent service each time too! My husband loved the SALAD (which he had never said in his life before) as well as the wagyu steak dish and Butterscotch mousse w/ short bread cookie that was best we have ever had (the chefs step dads recipe). After that they gave an extra little snacky of peanut brittle and pop rock orange like candy. The kimchi fritters were my other favorite dish of the night. Very happy cool place.

We ordered a Brie and raclette plate with housemade crackers and a spicy ginger jam ($20), and two NY strip steaks with potatoes and greens ($48 per). We're not pretentious diners and we're no strangers to small portions with high price points, but our two narrow thumbs of steak served with three small half potatoes and a tablespoon or two of greens felt severely under-portioned for $48 per person. While we enjoyed the steak, the potatoes, greens, and appetizer were lackluster, which exacerbated our feeling robbed. Recapping our experience outside the restaurant, we found it curious that the portion sizes weren't indicated on the menu descriptions (it likely would've deterred us). But more interestingly, our waitress neither reviewed the menu and offered recommendations for how many plates to order, nor asked if we were enjoying our meal. For $150 (we tipped 20%), restaurant-goers have several other options available to them for mouth-watering, inventive foods with adequate portions. I can't recommend Wren.

Coming from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, I received word I must bring heels, a dress and white gloves! No problem, as those items already graced the suitcase. A beautiful sunny day we left Mullett Lake and drove and drove and drove to the Argonne Supper Club! After a gracious greeting, we began enjoying our meal! The servers and entire meal - bread, coleslaw, 2 types of shrimp, and dessert - far exceeded all my dreams for the evening! What a lovely Club! Now it is 2026! Due to a health problem, my husband and I created a bucket list of all the Michigan places we wished to revisit! Kind of like rereading your favorites again! Yesterday, we made 4 o'clock reservations, and entered The Argonne House with our daughter, wondering what changes we'd find! Structural changes, an updated menu - those were the only changes Katherine ( Kat), our server made us feel like part of the family, telling us about the 100 year party! How we wished we knew about it! Amazing - the tables still stood far part!!! Did we imagine the walls the lovely colors they are now? Our daughter was a planner for the Washington Post! As she looked around, "Gracious, just gracious, thank you for bringing me here!" The shrimp taste just the same!
