Lovely place to hang out in the evening. Great music and not very loud. Their customer service is amazing especially Paulina . We tried the mushroom tacos, so good..!

Fantastic service and the food was delicious! We had a reservation for 6 indoors - note that groups 7+ will be seated outside in the patio. Indoor space is quite small but cozy. Our only hiccup was that their cocktails were STRONG for a brunch.

Such a cute calm place honestly was super surprised at how freshly made everything was. Everything came out as it was ready super yummy, the meatballs were my favorite. The staff is super friendly would recommend

My friend and I met at Gray Tavern for dinner and drinks after work. This place has great vibes. It felt like we were in a chic LA restaurant without actually having to go to dtla (which I avoid at all costs now. Lol). The outdoor patio was lovely. The cocktails were good. Our appetizer was amazing. Cooked with lemon, Greek yogurt, mint, red onion, and roasted garlic, the crispy cauliflower was quite possibly the best cauliflower dish I have ever had. Sadly, the mac and cheese was bland and unimpressive in comparison. Nevertheless, everything else was a hit and the mac and cheese was the only miss, hence the 4 stars. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Solid neighborhood tavern. Good drinks, decent prices, no weird attitude. I had their burger with fries -- nothing fancy, just done right. The draft beer selection could be bigger, but what they had was cold and fresh. Crowd was mixed -- some regulars, some people just stopping in. Music wasn't too loud, which I appreciated. Service was quick and laid-back. Nothing mind-blowing, but exactly what you want from a local bar: decent food, solid drinks, no drama. Would come back.

Menu rehauled with lots new that's thankfully not the same gastropub dishes you see everywhere! Cheese Fondue - Nervous it would be simple and heavy/greasy, but holy cow it's way better! Uncscious and cozy, but balanced. Meatballs - No complaints. Tender, well seasoned, with light herb and spice. Well done and comforting homey vibes, if not groundbreaking. Curious if it could be jazzed up/more unique. Tartare Quartet - Love trying a variety of small things! Tomato was deceptively simple until basil cames in and ended on a curious umami note I can't peg. Beef is balanced by cornichons. Tuna has mango and truffle, which is not overdone. Mushroom has big mushroom flavor with melted cheese. An attractive spread with lots of fun, different things to try. Happy to come back and keep exploring the new menu!

Stopped by for a drink on our way home on a Sunday. Decor inside is really nice. The music selection was really good especially if you have a penchant for 80's tunes! The Bart was super friendly and the beer was really good. Will be back.

Great drinks and great food! Love the outdoor patio vibes too. I came here with a girlfriend for some drinks and food and was super impressed. Our waitress Sydney was SO friendly and provided great service. We ordered french fries, wings, and shrimp tacos. The food was so good! The shrimp in the tacos was juicy and cooked well. Also loved the guac on top. The wings were not your typical buffalo wings, they were almost sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed them. Fries were great to share as the portion was pretty large. I would come back here just for drinks and vibes. On a weekday evening is was super chill, but I have seen it get busy on weekends. I am definitely going to make this my new spot to grab drinks with friends. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of their food!

Went to the grand reopening of this bar and I have high hopes for this place. The bar manager Sydney - who was really nice said they were under a new owner and he's made some great changes so far. I love the vibes of this place. It has a nice ambiance and outdoor seating. I tried the Passionfruit marg-tini that was good and the salsa they have with the chips was really good too. We tried little bites of things during the reopening but not sure which items were on their actual menu. But I'll definitely be back.

    Bloody Mary

I mean really?!?! BRUNCH was off the hook! Bloody Mary was perfect. Ricotta Pancakes and eggs to die for! Can't wait to come back and make my way thru the menu! Service and vibe were on point!

Not sure if it was an off night because of the rain, but Gray Tavern wasn't what we were expecting. We walked into an empty bar with the football game loudly on. It was kind of awkward for us because we thought (according to the reviews) that the environment would be a bit more of a toned down, cozy type of experience. My husband ordered a beer ($9) and I got the Oaxacan Fall ($15), which was basically a mezcal old fashioned with earl grey syrup. The cocktail was actually quite interesting and tasty. FYI they don't have happy hour on the weekends, which was a little disappointing because that's what's on the online menu. The ones in the photos are up to date. I'm inclined to give them another try at some point.

Had a great time visiting Gray Tavern. The patio out the back is a really nice chill vibe to hang with friends or a low key date night. The service seemed to have been on the slower side. With a couple more staff it can certainly alleviate stress on staff and a more efficient service for guests. The drinks were well made and flavorful. The smoked salmon flatbread could have done with some capers, lemon juice or balsamic glaze to give it a salty or vinegar kick. The seared salmon was really nice as was the crispy cauliflower. Parking is either street or you can park in the Ralph's parking lot across the street. Definitely a cute little gem worth checking out if you're in the area!

In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

I ordered the Espresso Martini, and it tasted pretty watered down and lacked the bold coffee flavor I was hoping for. On the bright side, the food was definitely the highlight. Overall, I'd come back for the food, but I'd probably steer clear from cocktails and order a real drink. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

After looking around the museum and enjoying the artwork, I went to Manuela, the restaurant inside the museum, on October 3, 2021, and again on October 9, 2021. One time, I went with just one close friend, and the other time, I went with a group of seven friends. On October 3, we made a reservation in advance and had brunch there. On October 9, we all went to the museum together, but since we hadn't made a reservation, we weren't able to eat there that day. I remember the atmosphere being really nice, and I remember that everything we ordered was delicious. All of the staff were also very friendly, and I remember the prices being quite reasonable. My friend and I, of course, split the bill evenly. Since it was five years ago, I obviously don't remember the exact prices in detail, but I do remember feeling that the food was reasonably priced. The only downside was the valet parking, which I remember being around $20. Other than the parking fee, I really liked the place overall and had a very good experience there.
