It's at the Cahuenga/Vineland intersection, so if you're coming from the Studio City area, it's the perfect date night stop before heading over to the Chinese for a movie. Parking can be tricky - I found a spot on a side street. The cocktails were nicely curated and tasty. We tried the "Aura" gin & prosecco drink and "The Smoking Gun", a scotch and honey concoction that's smoked tableside. We also ordered a beer and glass of La Marca to enjoy with our entrees, and they were brought to us at the appropriate time. For mains, we got the petit filet and the salmon. The steak came cooked perfectly, with amazing mashed potatoes. My salmon was bomb - accented by asparagus, bell peppers, zucchini, and a sweet chili sauce. I inhaled it. We also shared a basket of truffle fries, crispy and decadent with two dipping sauces. Service was highly efficient and the space is attractive, all without any pretension. We love the food here. Tonight we had the flat bread prosciutto and the mac and cheese. We usually sit at the bar and after tonight I've decided to write a review. The bar tender tonight is the same guy we've had a couple of times before. At first I thought he was just having a bad day, but no. He's like this all the time. Not personable or a conversationalist at all. Okay I get it, some of us are shy or what not. But, a bartender? First one ever. Sorry Viacheslav, but a smile or how you doing? Is enough, you know? Don't get me wrong he works. He's cleaning glasses and restocking the bar, but he never asks how the food is or if you'd like a refill or to let you know that he's going in break. While we were eating he disappeared to a table in the back of the bar to be in his phone. Never said he was going on break or even asked how the food was or if we need a refill or anything. My husband wanted a refill and kept waiting, it got to a point where I got up as asked a waitress at the kiosk if we could get a refill. She was so kind and helped us out. It felt like we were in a chic LA restaurant without actually having to go to dtla (which I avoid at all costs now. Lol). The outdoor patio was lovely. The cocktails were good. Our appetizer was amazing. Cooked with lemon, Greek yogurt, mint, red onion, and roasted garlic, the crispy cauliflower was quite possibly the best cauliflower dish I have ever had. Sadly, the mac and cheese was bland and unimpressive in comparison. Our waitress Sydney was SO friendly and provided great service. We ordered french fries, wings, and shrimp tacos. The food was so good! The shrimp in the tacos was juicy and cooked well. Also loved the guac on top. The wings were not your typical buffalo wings, they were almost sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed them. Fries were great to share as the portion was pretty large. I would come back here just for drinks and vibes. On a weekday evening is was super chill, but I have seen it get busy on weekends. Went to the grand reopening of this bar and I have high hopes for this place. The bar manager Sydney - who was really nice said they were under a new owner and he's made some great changes so far. I love the vibes of this place. It has a nice ambiance and outdoor seating. I tried the Passionfruit marg-tini that was good and the salsa they have with the chips was really good too. My friend suggested this place for Happy Hour because it was from 5-7PM. But we learned when we got there that we could not sit at the outside tables, we had to sit at the bar in order to enjoy Happy Hour. Strike 1! Also parking was a pain in the butt because it was right off of Ventura and was only meters. The staff, however, was very nice and accommodating. When we made our way to the outside after sitting uncomfortably at the bar, we ordered a flatbread and another round of drinks. Flatbread was good, but drinks were super sweet. An absolute gem of a place!! I had a large party to celebrate my husbands birthday and we were able to enjoy the back patio which was covered and well heated. Edgar, was super quick to reply to all emails and was at the restaurant during the party and was super kind. We did a bunch of appetizers and all of them we delicious... hard to pick a favorite, but the meatballs and the sliders were top notch! We are planning on another birthday celebration soon! Not sure if it was an off night because of the rain, but Gray Tavern wasn't what we were expecting. We walked into an empty bar with the football game loudly on. It was kind of awkward for us because we thought (according to the reviews) that the environment would be a bit more of a toned down, cozy type of experience. My husband ordered a beer ($9) and I got the Oaxacan Fall ($15), which was basically a mezcal old fashioned with earl grey syrup. The cocktail was actually quite interesting and tasty. FYI they don't have happy hour on the weekends, which was a little disappointing because that's what's on the online menu. The ones in the photos are up to date. Had a great time visiting Gray Tavern. The patio out the back is a really nice chill vibe to hang with friends or a low key date night. The service seemed to have been on the slower side. With a couple more staff it can certainly alleviate stress on staff and a more efficient service for guests. The drinks were well made and flavorful. The smoked salmon flatbread could have done with some capers, lemon juice or balsamic glaze to give it a salty or vinegar kick. The seared salmon was really nice as was the crispy cauliflower. Parking is either street or you can park in the Ralph's parking lot across the street. Definitely a cute little gem worth checking out if you're in the area! read more

We had the best time here last week! Great for big groups and small gatherings! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The inside is very spacious and if you follow through the bar area it will lead you to an outdoor patio. A little loud for our group so we decided to sit inside. Our bar tender and server was the very handsome and friendly Zane. He suggested a lovely chilled Chardonnay and the crispy grilled chicken burger for me. Spot on!!!! My friends ordered the Tuna Burger and a regular burger. All of our orders came with fries. Our servings were huge and very tasty. The tavern bar had a few tv screens and plenty of seating. Stopped by for happy hour on a Sunday afternoon. The bartender team was excellent and so was their cocktail program. Chris made a killer spicy margarita called the HotShot. At only $8 during happy hour it was a good deal. He also made some other fantastic cocktails when I let him pick some he thought I would like. My favorite was his whiskey sour. We thought the fried chicken burger would have been better. Nice quality in the chicken but it was just missing something. The fries were thick and done perfectly. And music was right, matching the environment and what I'd expect. Wasn't my kind of music, but I don't expect every place to play my kind of music. Gray Tavern has a solid selection of familiar and specialty craft spirits as well as a few good selections of craft beer and wine. Happy Hour is daily from 4pm to 6pm and 9pm to close. The food options are vast, though the kitchen is usually closed by 9pm. They do have vegetarian and gf options and can do a lot of vegan friendly nom noms also. There are gender neutral restrooms, lots of street parking (plus in back parking) and great music through the day/night Tommy the bartender is amazing and charming. Went to gray tavern on a Saturday morning around 10am for breakfast. We made a reservation on Yelp but there was ample seating when we got there. The server was really nice. We went with the chicken and waffles which came with some berries. We also ordered a vanilla latte. Everything was very mediocre. The coffee didn't hit the spot and I wish we didn't order it there, and just gotten coffee elsewhere. The chicken and waffles was super basic too-- nothing special. I enjoyed the berries though lol. The back patio had heaters which was nice, and they had some larger tables for big parties. I probably won't be returning unless it's for a larger gathering and we can't find another place to accommodate. read more

I really don't appreciate the denial of California state laws. The bar manager doesn't know the no dog law and doesn't care. There was a big dog in the front room and it shook its coat at least once during my meal! I ordered the chicken sandwich! It's was okay. The bun wasn't toasted and didn't hold the big piece of chicken, it's just a bad choice of bun for the juicy chicken! The fries were cool but you had to eat them fast. They aren't good cold! Great spot! Inside is an intimate setting with a splendid ambiance. Due to covid, seating is only available in their back patio area which is also a nice space. Tables are spaced nicely apart, no concerns for social distancing despite being quaint & intimate. The patio area is covered with a retractable tent, which is great if it becomes too sunny. While seated, the sun came out hitting us directly where we were seated, we requested more shade and they gladly complied! The food was great, perfect portions cooked perfectly!
