I live in this area and there is very little dining that isn't fast food or other franchisees, numerous family Mexican restaurants, a few American restaurants and one new Sushi place. Gravy has made an inroad in the community primarily as a breakfast place and with good reviews, so we'll assume breakfast is good. Located in a nice strip center with lots of parking, Gravy is open until 2. Lunch is available and so 5 months ago we went for lunch since lunch is more our thing. We were given a sample of their raved about zucchini bread and it was delicious. Nice touch that. My husband ordered a Wedge salad and a Club sandwich. I ordered the Friday Fried Cod. I'll start with my fish. I used multiple layers of napkins to try and absorb the oil from my fried fish. It was not only greasy but dark brown and fried hard. It came with a paper medicine cup of Slaw and some Tater Tots for $16. I could have tried to send it back. Some days you just aren't up to it. My husband's $16 Paseo Club was an ordinary wheat bread sandwich with turkey, ham, cheddar, swiss and bacon with the obligatory extra piece of bread, lettuce and tomato. See photo below. $16! With a few slices of fried zucchini as the side. His Wedge salad was $4. And tasty, I was told. Service was friendly and helpful and the place was comfy. I love this place! I love the food, I love the staff, I love the comfortable environment and the fun mix and match mugs! The food is delicious!The biscuits are buttery, the pancakes are fluffy, the fried chicken is perfect and the coffee is hot and fresh. Also, they have great vegetables (try the zucchini). Recently, they have just expanded the menu and all the new stuff is amazing. We lucked out that the original place we were going for breakfast was closed for renovation. This spot was cute the staff was attentive, we were told there would be a 15 min wait but were called in less than 10. The waitress brought us zucchini bread to try and it was delicious. I have been here several times with friends trying to enjoy breakfast together with good conversation. The music is so loud that trying to carry on a simple conversation is next to impossible. We have repeatedly asked for them to turn the music down. They have turned it down a little but we were told that's all they could do. We tried Gravy for the first time yesterday. It is a nice family owned business and they are eager to please. When we sat down, our waitress immediately brought us a couple pieces of zucchini bread which was delicious. The restaurant was super clean!! The owner made a point to talk to us. My husband had the Mahalo Burger which he thought was very good. The Mac and cheese was soooo good and the portions were very generous. I had the chicken breast sandwich which was a bit small for the size of the bun and a little dry. I added a little teriyaki sauce that came with my husbands burger which made it better. The tater tots were done to perfection. Another thing that we really liked is that the owner told us if we want to create something different with the foods they have, we can always make a request and they will do their best to make what we want to order. I would say on the chicken sandwich that I might order it Mahalo style with some pineapple and teriyaki sauce next time. The next time we eat here, we're going to try the breakfast. 4.5 stars actually. This is a great breakfast place. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. It can get a little busy on Saturdays and sometimes during the week. The reason for the 4.5 stars is when it's really busy the service diminishes slightly but not enough to complain about there or online. Prices are reasonable and portions are plentiful.
