COOKEVILLE/ CROSSVILLE is where they came from; this was not a crew from Chattanooga…read more I have never left a negative review due to believing ppl generally do the best they can & we all have bad days; however this is a warning if you care at all about your things. When I called for my estimate I repeated several times how heavy my things are; even mentioned that everyone who has ever moved me says it's the heaviest they've ever moved. So when my 2 men show up my size my heart sank, but I thought some of the strongest men I've known weren't very big; however these guys were also very young & clearly inexperienced. I decided I would just have to help & maybe this will prevent mishaps. For the 2 largest items I suggest they take out the drawers to decrease the weight; they told me they didn't need to; I mentioned everyone else has taken the drawers out; he said they didn't need to. They barely got the dresser out (wall is pictured) drawers are easily close to half the weight of this dresser. Eventually they became concerned about the weight of my buffet & called 2 more men changing my rate from $165 to $265, but ok if that's what we need to get there. Again I suggest removing the drawers on the buffets; but nope they know what they're doing. In the end a 6 foot Christmas Nutcracker was broken (no pics because they offered to dump it) my antique vanity, I'll say came apart because they told me how I can glue it back (smh) & broke the slab of TN marble that went on the vanity (pictured). While making the damage report they kept asking for the make & date..clearly no knowledge of how valuable antiques are & why they are valuable (impossible to replace) but according to them they're going to find me another piece of TN marble & the pulled apart bottom half was on me to repair (smh). In the end my buffet did not make up to my new place and they're solution to this was delivering it to anyone I could find OR they will SALE it for me and give me the $. Imagine something dear to you just pretty much being taken away, but what could I do. The buffet is what I used for my largest TV so I ask if we can get 1 of the tables we'd already put in my storage unit to set the TV on & they said yes. I didn't go to my storage unit to watch what they were doing, but when I went to put something in there later I see they have now put a very heavy chair partially on the only part of this antique vanity they haven't broken (top half) and the leg of this chair is running through my box spring (pics). I put the heavy chair in the storage unit myself due to wanting to make sure it didn't damage other items & damn if they didn't do it after all. So in the end I have all these damaged items & the bed they kept saying they we're going to put together for me to sleep on did not get put together; maybe this was due to my time running out, but overhearing the team lead telling them to slow down & quit being so fast made me think I was good on time. I was told I'd be compensated for the damage & the price over all was reduced a little. The guys were super nice until everything really went left; I'm not angry at them personally; in fact they would have to admit I was a very good sport saying repeatedly "I don't love anything that can't love me back". This crew were just clearly not the 4 men & a truck for this job.

Update - I'm still finding stuff that shouldn't have come here and should have gone with my mom on…read morethe other truck. I have been thinking about how to write this review for a couple of weeks. They had two teams and two trucks when they arrived and seemed competent. The moving team from TN to VA was decent. The moving team from TN to KY was downright awful, and the overall experience was so stressful. Scott was NOT clear about the cost, and their team got away with it because the person that set everything up was not the person who was there when the movers went over the information. Be careful; they are sneaky about their pricing. Save yourself the headache and hire a couple of people from FB or Craigslist to do the manual labor and get yourself a U-Haul. My aunt recommends Two Men and a Truck because they do a great job. Two Men and a Truck picked up furniture and other items I brought from TN to KY to take to her house here in KY. I would not recommend this company unless 1. You are okay with being charged hourly for a team that moves at a glacial pace. 2. If you do not mind your belongings being broken and 3. You have an EXACT number of items like boxes and furniture you are taking. Seriously, who packs a truck like this? See the photos! I also helped them unload to try to move things along faster... I did not start taking pictures until I realized more than one item was damaged/broken. I did not get photos of the three shattered glasses in the box. They probably put something heavy on top of it even though it said fragile. 1.Grandmothers' jewelry box - I could hardly get it open because the drawers were open inside of it. It got scratched up because they DID NOT wrap it. When I managed to get it open, a bunch of stuff fell on the floor, and everything inside is a MESS! 2.Decoration - some of the wings snapped off 3.Two pictures - one picture was missing a frame, and both were missing glass. Regarding the one missing glass, I even asked the mover, "Uh, didn't this have glass?" and he lied straight to my face, "No, ma'am". How do I know this had glass? It used to be my mom's, and she gave it to me. I have spent 20 some odd years staring at it. 4. Side table leg - poorly handled and ripped off AT my property. The screws no longer stay in place, and I'll have to replace this piece of furniture. 5. The floor return was a little bowed in, but the team completely crushed it, and I had to replace it right away because my daughter would have injured herself on it the way they left it. 6.King-size Tempur-pedic mattress - dirty from not being covered 7. Grandfather clock - I cannot get it back together. It should NOT have been taken apart. It should have been securely packed so that the insides were padded and could not move. 8. Small hand carved clock - made by my great uncle who is no longer with us. I personally bubble wrapped it. They had to have just been tossing my shit in the truck. The original quote was under 10k. The total was almost $13k. Their team came to move two people from one house to two separate locations. The owner may care about his company, but the movers do not. Remember that you're getting the movers, not the person on the phone selling you their company. This is what their website says: "We understand that relocating can be a very stressful process. At Making Moves, our priority is reaching the highest level of satisfaction possible -- for you, our valued customer. We believe that by offering you an increased standard of service -- coupled with a more friendly, professional attitude -- the entire moving process won't be such a headache for you." - this is a bold-faced lie. Their website is falsely advertising long-distance moving "But at Making Moves, you'll know exactly what you pay before your long-distance move. When you hire us to handle your move, you get the peace of mind knowing what you'll pay up-front... and our team of expert movers will make the whole experience a breeze." - Dishonest

We had two previous buyers pull out of contract, so as a result we have had to cancel our move twice. I understand how this can be frustrating for a business. I myself was frustrated and very sad that our house did not sell and we were having to cancel our move. Much of my communication with these movers was via text; therefore, I canceled our move via text, which I will post below. As of this week, our house is selling--a huge blessing right at Christmas time! With this news, I reached back out to southeast movers to book. Unfortunately and to my surprise, whoever I was speaking with was very rude with me and accused me of never canceling our previous move, so he was aggressively refusing my business. Honestly, I have never been spoken to like this from anyone, especially not from someone who may be trying to run a business and gain customers. I can understand if a company cannot work with me because of previous cancellations; however, you do not need to be rude or ugly. There is a respectful manner to discuss things like this. I am posting proof of my cancelation with the 667-7569 number, which is still one of their active numbers. I would like to end by saying that I know this can be a stressful time of year and that everyone has bad days and is deserving of grace. When you are running a business, how you treat people is everything. And because of our encounter today, I was forced to take my business elsewhere. ETA: I am posting my review here from Google because the photos attached to my original review were deleted, leaving my feedback without photo evidence supporting my claims. Truly, my only intentions here are accountability and preventing others from having the experience I have had.

Extremely disappointed with my experience using Bellhop in Atlanta…read more My move on May 31, 2025 was quoted at $837. But after the job, I was blindsided with a final bill nearly double that -- over $1,800 -- without any real-time communication or approval from me during the move. There was no transparency. I was never informed as the charges climbed. On top of that, the movers showed up completely unprepared, with nothing but a single Allen wrench and no tools or proper equipment. I had to hire outside help just to finish the job. Their disorganization directly caused the delay, not me. Several of my belongings were damaged during the move, including irreplaceable furniture. I submitted a claim and was promised a $449 settlement. But instead of issuing a refund, Bellhop applied it as a credit toward the inflated bill -- and only if I agreed to lift my credit card dispute. That's not a resolution -- that's coercion. I offered in good faith to pay the original quoted amount, which I believe was generous considering I had to finish the move myself and cover the damages. Bellhop refused to compromise or take accountability. If you're looking for a company that values professionalism, preparation, and fairness -- I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. My experience was stressful, expensive, and completely mishandled from start to finish.

Bellhop's communication is atrocious. They are extremely responsive when you are working to schedule a move and then it falls apart. I schedule a cross-country move with Bellhop, and at 5:30am on the morning that my 2800 mile move was set to begin, I received a text message saying that the move was being rescheduled to the next day. We had a flight booked that night and rescheduling (especially with 3 hours notice) was not an option. After an hour of trying to get a hold of customer service, I managed to talk to someone about pushing the move to early afternoon as long as we would still make our 10pm flight. The move was reconfirmed for 4pm. I followed up several times throughout the day, eventually learning the truck was now delayed and would be arriving at 5pm. This delay was not communicated to the assigned loading team who showed up to my home at 3pm. At 5pm, the truck was nowhere to be found, I had no contact information, and Bellhop's customer service was now Closed for the night despite my move not being completed for the day. After tears and an hour of panicked calls, emails, texts, etc., the truck showed up at 6pm. It just so happened that I received a call from a Bellhop team member within 2 minutes of the trucks final arrival to tell me they had arrived. I did not hear any updates from Bellhop over the 4 days that the moving truck made its way across the country, nor confirmation that the unloading team was assigned and on schedule to meet the truck. In the end, Bellhop blamed our truck driver for being uncommunicative instead of taking any responsibility for the terrible coordination. For over $11,000, I expected much better service and to avoid a total moving panic for once... guess that was a lofty dream.
