My family's favorite local pizza place! We've ordered from them countless times, but tonight when there was a miscommunication with our order, they quickly delivered our missing pizza (which they gave to us for free) and couldn't have been nicer about it. Best customer service in town and super nice guys plus amazing food!!! Their pepperoni and hot honey pizza is our favorite. Definitely worth eating here or getting takeout! read more

Fast pizza. Great ingredients. Thinner crust but not super thin. Blanco pizza my fav but salsa worth it too.

the pizza was yummy; nice chewy crust with some charred bits (as there should be). Just a few tweaks to point out: its cold out there and if you eat in as opposed to carrying out, every time the door opens you get a blast of icy air. They should consider a second door! Service was a little spacey. No one seemed to be clear about who was getting what and we had to ask for our beer. We had a vegetable pizza and the sauce was a little on the sweet side, slightly odd. But overall very good pizza and we'd go back, maybe in the spring! read more

My daughter and I went here recently at near closing time and I was a bit worried at first that our late arrival was of putting but nothing could have been further from the truth. Our server was so kind and did not hurry us at all. The owner chatted with us a bit and brought us a sample of the honey in the pepperoni-honey pizza I mentioned I'd likely get next time (Oh yes, they'll be a next time) and it was great. I loved the pizza I ordered which was the elote which I found too cool of an idea to pass up and it was light and delicious. My daughter had the cheese and enjoyed it. We definitely could have shared a pizza and were told they can split your pizza. The good part is we had plenty left over for the next day. The homemade lemonade was really good too. Was a big fan of the pizza at the french market in wilmette (my son says it was the best on the north shore) and was very excited to hear they were opening a storefront. When I heard it was open we decided to drive to Hubbard Woods for the pizza and a salad. It did not disappoint. It was just as good as I remember and has a great wine and beer list. The restaurant was small but well decorated and staff very helpful. Definitely a great add. read more

Great new pizza shoppe in Hubbard Woods. We ate outside in their back patio (not to be missed) and it was quiet and shady. Even though they just opened, the service was attentive without being distracting. The pizza was spot on - the crust had fantastic chew and nice char. The toppings were fresh and a nice mix of standard and inventive. Our group ordered two pizzas and a salad - more than enough for 3 people. With so few good restaurants in the area, this place is a welcome addition. Good clean food. We will definitely be back! read more

I picked up carry out for my family. Pizza was mediocre but the biggest issue was the long blond hair I found in one of my salads ($12) and also that the Cesar salad was missing croutons, so the $7 salad was lettuce and Parmesan. When I contacted the restaurant their answer was that they will give me the two salads free the next time I ate there but when i said i just wanted a credit for the salads on my credit card because we would not be going back due to the poor food and especially the long hair, the owner replied that "all sales are final". read more

Went tonight with our daughter. We ordered two pizzas. Finally found an open table on the outdoor patio in back. We then waited for ONE hour for two little pizzas. Everyone in back was waiting as well and when asked, they kept saying it was being made. The people we shared a table with was kind enough to share their hummus with everyone because everyone was starving, the kids going a bit nuts. Once we got the pizza it was barely cooked. When my husband went to speak with the girl at the front, the owner came up and called him a coward! We will never go back. There are so many better places for pizza and you don't have to wait for an hour! Buyer beware!! read more

Absolutely divine! This is THE BEST pizza I have ever had!! The combination of a welcoming atmosphere and top notch ingredients makes Grateful Bites unbeatable. The Elote pizza is a MUST try. The back patio has a wonderful urban/bohemian influence serving as the perfect place to enjoy some tasty bites. The service was friendly and caring, especially from Melanie and Brooke. Wow...this was utterly disappointing. Very busy weekend in Winnetka with art festival down the block and music festival about 1/2 mile away. You'd think management would have planned better. They had one person up front taking orders and working cash register. She struggled with the cash register apologizing multiple times. And they had 2 cooks working in the kitchen. The good news is they were very busy which is great. We'd love to see businesses thrive in the north shore. The bad news is they couldn't handle the rush. Now to the food. We got 2 pizzas and the white bean hummus. The marinara pizza literally tasted like chewy dough with chef boy r dee sauce. No seasoning, no garlic. Just plain red sauce lightly spread across dough. The hummus had an odd consistency as well as taste. If this were an established restaurant we would absolutely never go there again. Being that its new and only a few blocks from us we will give them another try. But if they want to capitalize on an area that would love to see them succeed they will need to consistently produce a better product and think about optimizing service as well. Very disappointing first experience with this place. First I tried calling to place a takeout order but I was put on hold and no one came back to the line after 5 minutes. We then ordered via door dash and were given a total delivery time of 35 minutes. About 30 mins later someone from the restaurant called and said they didn't have gluten free pizza (per half of our order) and we should call door dash for a refund. Half of our order took another thirty minutes to arrive and then the pizza was soggy. We were able to get a credit via door dash but we wanted a refund for the food that didn't come since we won't be ordering from grateful bites again and that was the only local restaurant on door dash. Grateful bites did not send any "extras" or comp our meal in any way for their mistakes. Half of our group was left hungry since we didn't realize they wouldn't bring our gluten free order until it was too late to order from someplace else. Overall- bad food, poor service. read more

If I was rating Grateful Bites on the pizza alone I would give them 4 stars; their customer service, however, leaves a bit to be desired. I have only carried pizza out from the restaurant, never dined there, but have had a couple bad experiences when trying to order or pick up an order. I called them at 6:15 on a Sunday night (they are open until 7:00) to order two pizzas and was told by the woman who answered that they were "jammed" and that she would call me back. When I tried to find out what time they would likely be calling, she admitted that they wouldn't be calling and that the owner just told her to say that. Strange, to say the least! Another time, when I was picking up an order, they had one poor person trying to take phone orders, handle carry-out pick-ups, and even help serve those dining at tables. Needless to say, service was extremely slow and my pizza was lukewarm when I got home. I really hope this place can work out these service/management issues because I like the idea of supporting a local independent spot and enjoy thin crust pizza. read more
