Grateful Bites is usually a win, but for some reason they were closed. And then Barnaby's is another favorite for takeout, but I called several times and got their busy signal. I found Marco Roma on Yelp and figured worth giving a try. We ordered the chopped salad, a cheese pizza and even their roma crust pizza, which was kind of like a deep dish pizza. I also got a side of meatballs to add a bit more protein to the meal. The order came pretty fast and the food disappeared quickly among my family of 5. I enjoyed the salad and normal pizza the most, but everyone else really liked the roma crust pizza, which I found to be a little heavy. The meatballs weren't really doing it for me - so much for protein! It's still tough to to Grateful Bites and Barnaby's in my house, but I'd order from here again in the future!

The pizza is consistently delicious, with a sauce that's perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. It definitely doesn't taste like the canned stuff you find elsewhere. Every bite is fresh and full of flavor. Their tiramisu is truly next level. It's hands down the best on the North Shore light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. The meatballs are another standout. They taste homemade, not frozen, and they're packed with flavor. The patio is an absolutely adorable. Charming bistro chairs, a beautiful brick floor, ivy covered walls, and umbrellas transport you straight to a European café. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff are always kind and accommodating, making the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. We just can't stop coming back. Marco Roma is that good. Great outdoor area though ! Service - excellent. Our group wasn't the easiest and server was great. Price - expensive for what you get $16 INSALATA DI BARBABIETOLE (Sliced beets, fennel, shaved parmigiano, almonds, aged balsamic) - tiny for $16, felt like a few bites. Very simple salad, was fine $44 BRANZINO (Baked Mediterranean sea bass, green beans, roasted potatoes) - flavorless. Cooked nicely. Green beans were great. Potato's bland. Really hoped for more flavor. $32 PAPPARDELLE ALLA NORCINA (Handmade pasta, Italian sausage, black truffles, cream) - very mushy overcooked pasta. Enjoyed the sauce but couldn't get past how mushy the noodles were. You tried to take a noodle and it would just disintegrate and break into pieces, falling back into the bowl. $22 VEGETARIANA PIZZA (seasonal vegetables, mozzarella, tomato sauce) - not much sauce or cheese. Crust was good but it was very bland and needed more cheese, sauce and toppings.

We get to Linden for a late dinner and thankfully this place is close to the station. It's a modest restaurant with few tables (picnic style appearance). Prices are a little off between the QR menu and ring up but it's not a big deal. We ordered paninis and they were delicious! My husband got the panini Italiano and I got the Philly chicken panini. We ate half at dinner and ate the other half the next day. The panini is a grilled sandwich more than a pressed sandwich. It was buttery , crunchy and perfect!! Even heating it up the next day didn't take away too much of the crunch. We very much enjoyed this meal and when the kid has a craving to ride the purple to linden again, we'll be back. Will try their pizza next time. :)

Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.
