When i came in this week to get a latte before work, I noticed the director of operations who wrote that very distasteful and selfish tweet was sitting right at the door working on a laptop. This showed me what this company stands for and what it allows, and it saddens me deeply. Unfortunately, I will not be supporting this coffee shop any more since this person was clearly not held accountable for their actions. Me alongside my friends also don't like how bold the men are here. They tend to stare at me and my friends while we are sitting and make us uncomfortable. We have heard some distasteful things come out of their mouths that I doubt get addressed seeing how their director hasn't been held accountable. Until this place has some decency, I will not be returning. read more

Had a delightful first visit to this establishment over the weekend. I was with a party of eight on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few people already in line, but everything moved fast. The area is spacious and the bathrooms were clean. The lady who took my order was very patient and gracious as I decided what I wanted. I ended up getting a green smoothie and piña colada frozen lemonade. I enjoyed the smoothie and got the lemonade for my husband which he enjoyed, the flavor was exactly what you think of the but I didn't love it personally. Another person in my party had the white chocolate mocha which he enjoyed and the other had some sort of coffee drink with a raspberry flavor which was an aquired taste. I believe Chelsea took my order and gave me a sample of the hibiscus tea to try. I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

I've visited Grassroots Coffee Co. a few times and I have had the most positive experience each time. It's a quaint and warm restaurant, perfectly located, where you can't miss it. The service has been consistently great. Very nice and helpful staff who are patient. Their coffee and specialty drinks never miss a beat. Also, there are plenty of sugar free syrup (flavor) options, which I tried this visit. Normally, there is a difference in taste, but I can honestly say I couldn't tell the difference because it wasn't too much of the syrup to the point of a bad aftertaste. This is important especially if you enjoy specialty coffee, minus the excessive sugar. When I visit Thomasville, this coffee shop is a must and I highly recommend! read more

Ordered in iced espresso with oat milk. The old man behind the counter sarcastically said "oh she just wants a latte" I corrected him and said no I would like espresso with some oatmilk. He continued to have an attitude and put about 2 drops of oatmilk in my coffee to challenge me. Apparently this really set him off. I asked for more oatmilk and he said it has some in it already. It continued like this longer than it needed to. A latte ratio is 4:1 milk to coffee FYI. We won't be back! read more

Love this place for coffee when I am in Thomasville for work! Their coffee is delicious- comparable to Starbucks but better. They serve breakfast bowls that are super tasty and breakfast sandwiches as well. Its always fairly busy when I've gone but the wait is never too much and there's plenty of seating. It has probably been a year since our last visit here. You can definitely see how much the seating has been reduced inside. Thought it odd that no sanitizer was available and the employees were not wearing masks on their faces more of a decoration perhaps? This place is so wonderful! The interior is very cute and clean and the food was great too. I went with my girlfriend and her daughter and the staff was so kind in accommodating their various slightly off-menu requests. For example, my girlfriend wanted a mocha which was not on the menu and they were able to make it. Same thing with her daughter. She wanted a grilled cheese and they basically converted their quesadilla into a grilled cheese with their sour dough bread. All that with a smile on their face. What a disappointment. I have been coming to grassroots for years and have ordered a cold chai latte without ice. I walked in today and while JR makes my drink "correctly" was there, the GM Kerrie was in today and she continued to tell me it would almost be a full cup but not. I was not feeling good about it but went with it anyways. I should have walked out. This is not the grassroots way to making a cold without ice drink. Extremely disappointed and I will not go back. My heart is broken and I have always been the one to refer grassroots to family and friends and now I have to do just the opposite. :( Kerrie was rude and snarky to the barista. Coffee is solid and the place is done up well. Love the feel and really enjoy sitting in the old chairs. Service seems to be a big issue (from past reviews as well). We placed our order and sat down, not 10 feet from the counter. We were never called for our drinks. When we went to check on them, they were sitting on the counter, warm. Our party of three and another party of two were the only patrons in the shop at the time. Very certain no one called out to us, as the two employees on at the time were busy cleaning and other duties.
