I called technical support several times but they were slow to help. When my number finally ported from another carrier I could see the calls coming in but I could not answer them. I paid for an ad and felt because of the grasshopper phone service I wasted 1000$. Also it would never let me sign up for text messaging which my clients like to use. I had an extremely frustrating experience with Grasshopper. First, their cancellation process is unnecessarily complicated. They require you to submit a reason online, generate a case number, and then call in to actually cancel. Even after doing all that, I had to go through multiple automated prompts before finally reaching someone who could help. By the time I got through, our phone number had already been ported to another provider, meaning Grasshopper was no longer providing any service. Despite that, they continued to charge us. When I asked for a refund for the months we were not using the service, I was told the representative "did not have the option" to issue one. So not only were we billed for a service we weren't using, but there was also no resolution offered. This process feels intentionally difficult and not customer-friendly. If a number is ported out, the account should be automatically canceled, or at the very least, billing should stop. Overall, very disappointing experience. Grasshopper charged me over $1400 for a plan so outdated it might as well come with a rotary dial and a carrier pigeon. I didn't even get a heads-up...just BAM! "Thanks for your money." When I called to ask why I was being billed like it's 2007, their response was basically, "That's the plan you picked." Really? That's the best you've got? I pointed out, that Google, Zoom, RingCentral, and even your neighbor's kid's lemonade stand offer better VOIP services at half the price. And just like that, a miracle! Suddenly, they do have a new plan that only costs $800. Amazing how those don't come up until you start yelling into the void. I asked three separate times to be switched to that cheaper plan and to be credited for the blatant overcharge. Each time, they promised it was "taken care of." Spoiler: it never was. Months went by. Still no adjustment, no refund , just the distant sound of crickets and the faint stench of corporate indifference. I finally pulled the plug, expecting at least a partial credit for the six months left on my plan. But no, customer service told me that "we don't do that." So to recap: Grasshopper charged me premium pricing for relic service, tried to upsell me with fake savings only after I complained, broke their own promises multiple times, and finished strong with a big ol' middle finger when I canceled. After a month of trying we gave up and got a new number (had to change signs and site info - was a real pain) then we asked to cancel but instead they charged us for another year, refused to issue a refund. The only reason I am giving this one star is because no starts were not available. I have had grasshopper for a year and have continues issues with the service not working correctly. Recently I had several of my customers emailing that they could not reach me by phone, stating the phone would ring, then transfer to voicemail beep and start ringing again. They were not able to leave a voicemail and were just stuck in loop. I had over 15 complaints from customers trying to reach me. Unfortunately, I just renewed my subscription 2 weeks ago, and I went to cancel my subscription, and they refuse to give a refund. They offered to leave my service available for the next 50 weeks (when my subscription will end); and they stressed that their customer service is 24/7 and that I can always call them when I had issues. I do not always have time to call Customer Service, and by the time I am aware of issues, I have already lost several customers. They say that they cannot refund because the Terms and Conditions states no refund. They never mentioned this when I had in-depth discussion with them when I signed up, now they want to refer me to the fine print. Also, any reputable company COULD and WOULD refund a customer their money if they chose to, especially if the customer brought a service that does not work properly. Also, the service has not worked since it was automatically renewed 2 weeks ago. I do not recommend, and I will never use this company again. Turned our service over to a new SIP provider on the 27th of June. Gave the new provider a Letter of Agency to work on our behalf. We only had the one SIP number with Grasshopper. The "renewal Date" (which should never have been able to happen) for them was supposed to be the 14th of July, This morning I got a notification that Grasshopper was trying to charge for another year of service. After jumping through hoops, got on the phone and after they tried to "Sell to keep my service" they told me that the charge already had gone through and I had to pay for the whole year Over $450.00 for a service that I do not have with them any longer. So my company just switched to GH for call quality, which is fine, but now we have a phone system that's almost completely useless, lacks most of the features of its competitors and makes everyone's job that much harder. I've used a number of VOIP systems and this is right at the bottom, due to simply being inconvenient to use. This is ridiculous! 1. Why does the desktop app take up half my screen (literally)? How are your users supposed to work and dial????????? 2. They have a desktop app and a mobile app, but no way to link them or switch calls between the two? That's brilliant! Wish I had thought of a way to make both apps completely useless...oh wait they did that already! 3. There's no way to dial from or integrate a CRM. That's well thought out on your part GH. It's not like users would want that..... 4. When we contacted GH, every answer was we can't do that and we don't know when/if we'll add those features. So to sum up....No call transfer between devices, CRM integration, oversized dialpad, terrible customer service..... Keep up the good work GH!!! ....We'll be changing services. read more

The 800 number that we received must have been a Liberty Mutual number as 75% of the calls I received are for claims (not even close to my business). The spam calls are insane. I've used Grasshopper for 5 years. As long as the automation worked, the service was good and I liked the features. However, 10 days ago, my number suddenly stopped working. Customers began to email me to say that my 800 number was "no longer a working number". So began a long, unresolved nightmare--and I still don't have service or a resolution. I've called their customer service desk numerous times (have been randomly disconnected 3 other, additional times)....and I've had dozens of email exchanges with agents who can't spell or type complete sentences. Bottom line: as long as you have no problems, you'll probably be fine most of the time. We are a business vendor. Grasshopper is ok. Their customer support is really trying to help. We found that it works best if you have AT&T or Verizon cell phone. If you are on T-Mobile or another smaller cell provider in US, a lot of your incoming calls will go voicemail and client will experience long delays. read more
